Had to wait at least 20 minutes for them to retrieve a car from the lot and there was no representative to assist other than someone passing by saying we’re doing the best we can

I waited in line at JFK for over an hour from 10-11am on a Friday morning to pick up my pre booked vehicle. It was a shambles - so very slow to process each customer. Never had such a wait at Hertz? That said, staff were ok, car was clean enough (not showroom condition) and have not yet returned so can’t comment.

Intially I saw the reviews of Avis on google and was really worried that I chose the wrong rentals, but to my surprise I actually had a good experience. I pre checked in and was able to pick my car in 10 mins, which was very convenient.

I received a hybrid that had less than 10 perfect battery life. I did not enjoy the car for the entire first day of rental because I was afraid to drive it due to the battery life being so low. I had to find someone willing yo place an app on their phone and then drive out of the way to locate a plug in that I had to pay money to charge the vehicle up before I could comfortably or safely drive anywhere. The battery was not self charging as I drove it and there were no instructions on charging time,location ,etc

Supplier choice

There was a 2-hour line to pickup the car when we got to the airport. I had to cancel the reservation and book with Alamo (which, along with the 4 other car rental agencies, had a short line) to make our event on time. The Alamo agent told me that Budget does this every day, by offering low teaser rates without disclosing that you'll have to wait 2-hours+ to pick up the vehicle. That's really poor form on Budget's part.

God awful. The JFK budget is hell on earth. I clocked total pick up time at 3 hours and 1 minute. This was after a 10 hour flight from Rome. Then we got to drive 3 hours in the rain through NYC traffic. Avoid this place like the plague. The inefficiency of this place makes the DMV seem like a dream vacation. Employees were totally inept at their jobs. Sometimes only one would work at a time with a line out the door. Conversations at the window were taking forever. Cars were not ready. Some were unavailable. So so bad. Trenton Airport drop off was a complete 180. Parked the car. Have them my keys and left. He asked how my trip was. I asked him if he’d ever been to the JFK location. He cringed. He knew. Exceptionally bad service at Budget JFK.

Worst vehicle rental experience I have encountered. Shuttle service was appalling. Numerous hidden costs and continual addition of charges. Absolutely will not ever rent from Fox in the future. Lesson learned.

We had reserved a car through Ace via Kayak...confirmation number, etc. When our plane landed in NYC, we received a text saying that a vehicle wouldn't be available for 2-3 hours after our confirmed pick up time. Due to our commitments and time constraints, that alteration was not workable with our travel plans.

First of all dollar wouldn’t honor my same-day reservation confirmed through your site. That’s problem number one. Secondly I was offered an upgrade which was appreciated so I could actually get a car, but I was provided a car that did not have a sufficient charge.

Was allowed to rent a car past the time that the rental car company was open. Flight coming in was delayed so I hopped on different flight to this location, planning on renting a car to drive back home. Ended up being stranded in JFK for a night as I was never able to rent a car and all other places were booked. Had I known renting a car here wasn't possible I probably wouldn't have made flight arrangements this way
