Rotorua hotels near Polynesian Spa

Pros: Aside from the incredibly lovely hosts, it was the huge spa & the little extras that appealed to me. Spacious, comfortable & spotlessly clean.

Cons: The pillows. Unfortunately no other options than the ones provided. Very thin.

Pros: Location was good for restaurants / bars a short drive or a longish walk . Room was very clean and tidy , staff were helpful. Spa bath was very nice after a long day of sight seeing etc .

Cons: Wi Fi connection could be better , very low signal lucky we had enough mobile data to use on our phones .

Cons: The shower was over the spa pool.You need to climb into the spa to take a shower, felt awkward. No good for older person or anyone unsteady in the feet?

Pros: Location to the town was excellent, loved the spa bath. The bed was really comfortable and so was the lazy boy reclining sofa. Easy to find. Plenty of parking. The owners were very welcoming and allowed us into our room very early as it was ready.

Cons: The communal tables and chairs were outside our apartment, so was noisy when people were out in the sun having lunch etc. Although the smell wasn't really bad, you couldn't sleep with the windows open. Our room didn't have a hob.

Pros: It's nice and clean with a small kitchen. The SPA was comfy but just turned off a little bit too early.

Pros: We had asked for a two-bedroom unit but got a large three bedroom apartment with a private hot tub and well equipped kitchen. The staff checked on us to see if we needed anything. Unlimited free wifi, which is not always the case in NZ.

Cons: Check-in closes at nine, eight on weekends. They had mentioned this in their reservation, but we did not notice as it was part of a lot of standard text that we didn't really read. Fortunately, we got there just as the manager was leaving. Also, the windows didn't have insect screens. If we kept them shut, the room was a bit hot and stuffy despite the fans (no AC), and if we kept them open, we got bit by some sand flies. The internet was weak and kept dropping.

Pros: Close to town, loads of food stores near by walking distance 5 to 10min walk. Countdown gas station and butcher across the road as mentioned perfect location

Cons: Over crowded outside no privacy 1 whole family claimed the pool for hours no where else for me to swim nothing major didn't want to complain to reception as the children were having fun but it would have been nice if their was space to relax in the pool

Pros: Friendliest owners/managers I have ever met. VERY helpful. An older renovated motel that has everything you could ask for. I seldom if ever give any facility this high of marks.

Cons: The rules are there for comfort of the guests but perhaps too strict.

Pros: The staff were so friendly - greeting us upon arrival with chocolate fish for the children and chocolate for us. Unit was clean and comfortable and the warm pool was amazing! We left an item by mistake and it was posted back to us.

Pros: Staff were amazing, beds were extremely comfy. We had a spacious room with a new kitchen, bathroom, beds & carpet. There is 2 trampolines, a play set & heated pool which is great for the kids. Location was great for us. Will be staying here when we visit Rotorua in the future.

Pros: The owner was excellent. He was very accommodating. The beds where super comfortable great night sleep. The shower was great with good pressure. Heaps of space in the kitchen and lots of cupboards. It was great to have a big oven.The pool was a good size and depth and nice and warm.

Cons: It was not cleaned properly. The bottom of oven tray was dirty and and big mark on the couch. But understand they under staffed and the owner got it sorted straight away so was impressed.

Pros: Great location and staff at front desk were extremely helpful and very friendly. Had a meal in their restaurant it was lovely food and the waitress we had was absolutely lovely and really funny to chat to - made our night!

Cons: Unfortunately the room we had had a leaking roof - which we only realised during the rain at 3am! Have given a a good rating as the front desk team gave us a full refund after we explained the trouble we had. Great customer service!

Pros: The reception staff were very friendly - thank you! Got milk and bikkies on arrival. It was nice to have a clean looking spa in our two bedroom room but unfortunately we didn’t get a chance to use it:

Cons: We got given the wrong code to retrieve our key as we got in late and also wrong directions to our room then our key opened someone else’s room which we felt very disturbed by

Cons: Room was an hour later being ready for us, which meant we were hanging around waiting to get in and wasting the afternoon - they didn't want us to leave our luggage in their office so we had to keep it with us until we finally got into the room. Our room was tucked away in the corner right next to the rubbish bins which meant people were coming and going to them just outside our room and being able to see all the bins right outside our window wasn't great.

Cons: I spend half my time traveling and have been to well over 60 countries. I’ve stayed in a wide range of accommodations, from hostels to 5 star hotels. Hands down, Tuscany Villas Motor Inn is bottom 5% in terms of customer experience/satisfaction by any measure across the range of accommodation types: My nephew was visiting from the US. Along with my son, the 3 of us went on a road trip from Auckland to Rotorua. I had booked the 7pm tour of Tamaki Maori Village(awesome) which ended at 10pm. We arrived at Tuscany Villas at around 10:30pm looking forward to a good night’s sleep after a long day. I called the number displayed on the front door which instructed guests arriving after hours to call reception. After a tense conversation, the receptionist reluctantly agreed to let us check into a room that I had already paid for. She said that someone would be there in about 10 minutes. After waiting in the car for about 15 minutes, I called her again. It turns out she was on premise the whole time! I was already irate that she made us wait in the car(it was cold) for 15 minutes when she was there all along. The receptionist finally showed up and appeared to be under the influence of a substance, whether alcohol and/or otherwise. Not quite the modicum of professionalism, this person slurred her words, couldn’t seem to grasp why I was upset, appeared physically off balanced and mentally confused. Despite her compromised state, she still managed to be rude and abrasive. The cleaning staff was rude. They pressured us to leave our room so they could clean even though we were booked in for that evening. Further, on the morning of checkout my nephew was unwell so I requested a late checkout for 1 additional hour to which the manager/owner replied with a curt “no”. I am a seasoned traveler who has visited much of the world. I’ve never been treated this way by a supposed 4-star rated establishment(bookings.com) Shame on the manager/owner of this establishment. I strongly recommend visitors to avoid Tuscan Villas at all cost. They will profoundly regret it! I hope the manager/owner makes systemic changes to Tuscan Villas’ operation.

Cons: Staff knocking on the door every morning asking to clean your room around 9am even after being told not to. We were there for a holiday. Also the walls were noisy.
