I was charged $45 to recharge this electric vehicle that I drove only 63 miles. As that is about half what I pay for the electricity for my entire house in a month, it amounts to highway robbery. This charge was not clearly spelled out by the Thrifty employee when I picked up the car. I will therefore not be using Thrifty or Kayak to rent cars in the future, or recommending that anyone else do so.Reviewed 20 Dec 2025

!!!I WILL NEVER RENT A VEHICLE THROUGH KAYAK OR WITH THRIFTY AGAIN!!! Kayak offers an option to purchase insurance, but it does not apply to Thrifty vehicles. As a result, I had to buy additional insurance directly from Thrifty to ensure our rental was covered for the trip. The total cost ended up being over $600 — and that does not include the 5-day rental itself.Reviewed 19 Nov 2025
