Worst rental company ever..Cons:The car rental price was $120 for 4 days. First I was carrying my own insurance and I am not required to buy a insurance. They would not agree to that and made me forcefully buy insurance of 15$ extra per day. Despite buying insurance, they wanted to hold additional $1000 on my car since the 15$ insurance had 1000$ liablity. Worst customer service and they said since they were franchisee of Thrifty... they have their own set of rules... Never going to Thrifty again.. they should rename it to thiefty instead..Reviewed 25 Apr. 2016

Shop Elsewhere - Force you to get additional InsurPros:Staff was friendly enough. Otherwise, not a great experience.Cons:I had a reservation with another company that fell through the day of travel, so I had to make a last minute reservation. They advertised the cheapest, and I didn't need much. Problem is that when you come, they force you to buy the $15 per day CDW insurance, even if you have other coverage. Since this is required, I find the pricing deceitful as the quote will never be what you will pay, and will end up paying a lot more. The car was okay enough, didn't have any major problems while driving. However, the driver side mirror (the most important one) was replaced incorrectly at some point, and therefore did not adjust. The mirror angled down a bit so it was not reliable to use. The radio also didn't work well, and made crackling noises periodically. For the money it is NOT Thrifty at all. I don't mind a car that needs some attention, but if I am going to pay a similar rate as competitors then I would expect a similar car. Also, the requirement for to purchase the CDW insurance, and not have that in the quoted price, is unethical and deceitful.Reviewed 5 Aug. 2016

Pros:Absolutely a nightmare experience at the counter.Cons:First of all, no information was available in writing. The person at the desk, Adreane, was not helpful, they asked for 1000 USD deposit, and they've leveraged buying their car insurance or else no rental car. I was given a cell phone to talk to a person that apparently was the manager to no positive resolution. My CC offers car insurance. This was not good enough for them. The rental car given was in pretty bad shape also. Bumpers needed work, the car was dirty on the inside, the suspension was in bad shape. The car was given w/ an empty gas tank. Thrifty has no quality/satisfaction process at this car rental unit. Stay away!Reviewed 17 Jul. 2017

Cons:Car was not available upon arrival and the online site allowed us to opt out of insurance though it would be necessary. Reserving online should not be an option if the car cannot be secured for us. Additionally, additional charges should be more transparent and communicated better. Upon arrival, we were told about a security deposit which was not stated online. Thrifty ended up outsourcing from another company. This is terrible customer service and takes advantage of tourists which this company assumes are wealthy Americans. This is not always the case. We work hard to save up money to vacation.Reviewed 1 Jan. 2020

NEVER - I REPEAT - NEVER RENT FROM HERE! WORST EXPros:Absolutely nothingCons:I arrived at the desk, waited for 30 minutes for someone to come out, only to to be told that the car I reserved had been given away to someone else and that there were no cars left! Then when I left the desk (to go to Hertz, which is next door), I saw them give a car to someone who just walked up! Outrageous! So I went back and asked how they could do that, and they said just as I left new cars arrived. They didn't even attempt to call me back (I was literally 3 feet away in the long HERTZ line!). Then they said they could give me the car I reserved, BUT FOR DOUBLE THE PRICE I HAD RESERVED IT FOR. What a joke. I went with Hertz, and I will NEVER use Thrifty again if I can help it.Reviewed 20 Feb. 2016

EYE OpenerPros:the staffCons:The fact that the price I had when booked online more than double. Both my credit card and insurance covers all my rentals from other companies plus holding that much on my credit card was a learning lesson for me. This is not my first car rental in Jamaica but I don't see us doing this again.Reviewed 9 Aug. 2018

Pros:NothingCons:The receptionist obliged me to buy double insurance saying that the one purchased on line was not valid in Jamaica. Car in very bad conditions. I had to wait more than one hour for the car after completing the check in operation. I now need to find a way to get the insurance costs back. Avoid thrifty in Montego bay.Reviewed 17 Dec. 2019

OkPros:Fast pick up and drop off. Aux port in car. Super friendlyCons:Car was in poor condition. Some lights did not work. I understand it is Jamaica and that it wasn't a luxury car but it was kind of unsafe to drive at night without some of the lights working.Reviewed 18 May 2017
