1.0 Poor
Pros: Location
Cons: Lumpy, saggy bed. Stained, peeling wallpaper, cracked bathroom sink, not very clean. Apparently some rooms have been renovated. We did not see or get one of those but still paid 140 pounds for 1 night.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The view from the window
Cons: Lack of disability facilities, the food, dirty kettle inside, non working radiators

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Quiet and seemingly well soundproofed. Good WiFi.
Cons: Decor is a bit old fashioned.
7.5 Good
Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: Drunk People screaming aimless at 23:45hrs on a Thursday night directly outside the room. Some of us had to work the next day.
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: The staff present when we visited were very pleasant and helpful. The historic Inn was nice but crowded with the general public and difficult to find seating.
Cons: The decor was tired, dated, threadbare carpets and 1980s furnishings. We paid £178 per room for one night which is grossly overpriced for what is on offer. We were the sole guests in the hotel restaurant and there is no area for guests to sit other than the Inn which was full. We had to retire to our bedroom. An extremely disappointing 50th anniversary stay. We were not told in advance that the hotel was undergoing refurbishment and it is certainly not reflected in the price. This is a pub with rooms not a hotel.
7.1 Good
Pros: Location was good
Cons: Was advised that my bedroom had been upgraded The carpet was the only upgrade I could see The room was dusty & light bulb was missing I paid £118 and I didn’t think it was worth that money Also when I arrived on Friday pm no one was on reception so waited a while to get my room
4.0 Okay
Cons: Generally run-down and tired decor and furniture. Bed was quiet hard. Duvet inadequate. No milk available in the room on second day. These are all minor things, but I would have expected better for the considerable cost (£100/night)
5.0 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was very good and staff pleasant.
Cons: The room was 'very tired'. Furnishings were worn and fraying. en suite bathroom had black mould on tile cement and some tiles were loose. Shower was inadequate. Duvet was summer weight and not warm enough for the weather in October.
1.0 Poor
Pros: Will never have people stay there again
Cons: Room and facilities disgusting

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was very comfortable and well appointed. the food and the breakfast was excellent and all the staff were polite, friendly and helpful. The whole stay represented excellent value for money and would definitely stay there again.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice welcome at reception. Personal service taking bags to room for us. Very good food and lovely beer. The bed was very nice and the room was spacious and warm.
Cons: Only one thing is that there was a smell of damp. Noticed a damp wall causing it. Appart from that it was a lovely stay.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice warmness when we went into our room with a nice cosy feeling. Everything was very clean and room spacious. It was a very comfortable stay. Breakfast was exceptional, nicely cooked and plentiful.
Cons: The only negative was that the mattress on the bed was not that comfortable and my husband did not sleep that well because of it. Other than that great hotel and stay.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Bed linen and towels were lovely, room was a nice size. Our breakfast was very good quality and cooked nicely. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Overall a really nice place but just lacked a bit of attention to detail. A beautiful building with lovely features.
Cons: Room needed a bit of TLC. Dirty carpet, peeling paint, dead fish in well, toilet seat would not stay up, no fruit salad at breakfast and TV remote did not work correctly.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a very nice room, well decorated with a large and comfortable bed. Our room was in the annex of the very old and interesting pub. The breakfast was freshly cooked and plenty of choice available. The staff were very friendly and efficient. Overall a very good place to stay.
Cons: There was a bit of noise from plant or a fan during the night. We weren't surre where this was coming from.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The car parking area at the rear of the hotel has been enlarged significantly which is most welcome as parking on the main street in front of the hotel is limited. There is now an outside seating terrace also at the rear, which will be a great asset in the summer. For me, the breakfast and lunch/dinner offering has more options/alternatives for all dietary requirements which is welcome.
Cons: Nothing to mention. Several additional facilities which add to the experience.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything as listed above
Cons: The first room offered smelt like a smoker had been in there. The receptionist told me that the hotel has a no smoking policy and she was very helpful in arranging an alternative room for me. My daughter found the pillows in her room a bit hard, but this may be down to personal preference as I found similar pillows in my room ok
