Get ready for the driving experience of your lifePros:Literally. You need to have really hardened mettle to drive in the Dominican Republic. Rule #1 - Don't hit anyone. Rule #2 - Don't ever block traffic. Literally ANYTHING else is fair game, including driving in the complete opposite direction on highways and Una Vias, and stacking as many family members as possible on your motorbike carrying multiple 5-gallon jugs of water. Somehow I got through an entire week's worth of touring the DR without a scratch and all the Alamo staff were incredibly helpful, friendly, and proved for an incredible experience.Reviewed 6 Apr. 2017

Not valid pre-parchased insurance ...Cons:On-Line prepurchased insurance -Allianz policy- was not valid in Dominican Republic. Hence I had to contrac a new policy upon arrival. Álamo page does not inform that!Reviewed 20 May 2017

False pricingPros:The carCons:The lies. One price quote online, but then the entire price changed once I arrived on site to pick up the car. Totally different price and circumstances. Cons:Kayak listed the three day renal for $120. Alamo in Santa Domingo tried to charge me $312 for three days. Would not honor the $120 Even though I had the reservation printed listing tgevrate and confirmation number.Reviewed 5 Apr. 2017

Pros:Nothing, the customer service sucked! My reservations were canceled due to time difference that I was not made aware of when booking plus they did not problem solve were very dismissive and said they had No cars at all.Cons:Customer service could have advised about the time difference plus the hold of vehicles. I should have been guided to other rental companies that would have given me a better deal. I had to figure it all out by myself. They guys there suck big time.Reviewed 15 Feb. 2020

Horrible first experience with Alamo at SDQ international.Pros:Nothing.Cons:Alamo at the SDQ airport claimed that the insurance coverage provided by Allianz was not valid and that I had to purchase their insurance for $1200 (the rental car was less than $400). I felt very scammed and cancel the rental right there. Imagine getting to an airport and having to take public transportation when you planned for a rental.Reviewed 4 Jan. 2018

Horrible experienceCons:We arrived from our international flight and had a horrible experience upon pick up. Our category of reserved vehicle was not available, a much smaller vehicle was provided.
