Cons:I was denied a car because I was 21 without a credit card.Reviewed 16 Mar. 2021

Efficient once at booth but had to wait 45' for aiPros:Efficient service, nice late model car (Mazda 6 with 1600 miles on the meter) fast in and out, predictable charges.Cons:Had to wait over 30' for the airport shuttle in 34 degree temperatures while other companies' shuttles kept passing through 3-4 times each. I called the office but I couldn't reach a live person. Finally I called their road assistance line and asked to be connected with someone at the office to get a shuttle sent to where several of us were waiting by that point. After another 10' on hold, the shuttle showed up. The driver, apologized profusely and said that "... to be honest [they] have several drivers who like to loaf on the job." I frankly never had such an experience by a large company in a major airport. And finally, the "in terminal" characterization is not entirely accurate as one has to drive 5' to the car rental place (45' wait for the shuttle notwithstanding).Reviewed 25 Dec. 2016

Cons:It was a little confusing that Avis and Budget were renting from the same kiosk.Reviewed 27 Dec. 2020

Pros:Front desk was helpful.Cons:The wait; 45 minutes to get a car. Didn't like hearing some of the others talking about a colleague. Customers don't need to hear that.Reviewed 12 Oct. 2018

Pros:The staff in Detroit was friendly.Cons:I reserved a full sized car and at check-in I was asked if I would take a minivan instead. I said OK even though I knew I that I would be buying more gas. The agent motioned toward the parking lot and said your car is out there. He gave me a slot number and I wandered around for at least 15 minutes trying to find my minivan before the driver a passing vehicle offered me a ride to find it. Eventually, we found my vehicle and in more than 40 years of renting cars, this without a doubt this was the filthiest one I EVER received. I almost went back to the counter to refuse it, but with a 10 hour drive ahead of me I wanted to get on the road. Leaving the lot I expected to have the gate attendant review any damage. I told him that there was body damage to the car and he said, "we don't care about what we don't intend to repair" and he waived me on out without leaving his booth. The minivan drove OK, but as expected got poor fuel economy. When I arrived in Newark to return the vehicle, the check-in agent took my paper work and seemed surprised when he said, "you know you've go body damage on the right side of the car." After a moment of panic, I had to show this person that the damaged areas had been marked up in Michigan. He shrugged and said, "OK" before dismissing me. The bottom line, I will think twice before renting another can from Budget.Reviewed 8 Sep. 2020
