Did not have a car to rent once we arrived at our destination. Asked us to wait but couldn’t guarantee we would get an SUV that we paid for. Nor would they comp for a smaller vehicle. Got rude when asked to cancel the reservation all together.

The car I had rented wasn’t there I had to wait over 45 min for their shuttle from the rental car place both fox and ace are in the same location but I saw two of each of their busses come and go before I saw the easiest bus .. the vehicle had a cracked windshield when I picked it up and at first I guess the guy who checked me in didn’t see it but luckily I had to go back and get an item from the car I was able to show him the video I took of the car that showed it … they tried to blame me … don’t think I will use them again

I rented with them to pick up the car at 12pm. On August 28, 2024 They took my money and they cancel the rent of the car because I didn't pick up the car at 12pm even though I gave them the flight and the airline that will be there at 5:20pm, until today I'm not receiving my reimbursement, I called again customer service and said that I have to e-mail to a different place. Waisting so much time because of the company incompetency.

I got more than I expected. I was greeted by a person right in the airport, he took us directly to the car, helped with luggage, helped us with the safety seats for the kids. Once we were good to go, he sent us on our way. Same on the return. We arrived to the arrival platform where we were greeted by an employee, he helped unload the car, checked that everything was in order, that nothing was forgotten and took the car. WAY easier than what I usually deal with. The car wasn't new, nor in mint condition. But it was also cheap and really spacious. So all in all, we were very happy with the service.

Midnight in Charlotte Airport, rented an Alamo car after flight was cancelled. Website says Alamo open until 1:45am but no one was there to rent out cars. I was stranded because all other cars had been rented due to many flight cancellations.

They required 2 forms of photo idea (not warned ahead of time) because I booked within 24 hours. Never seen this in my life after hundreds of rentals. Everything else was sold out and i took a $200 uber instead.

Pros:

Staff was relatively friendly and helpful, vehicle was excellent.

Cons:

The vehicle was not waiting for us when we arrived. We had to wait over 30 minutes for a vehicle to arrive at the facility. Communication of this was poor as we were told the wait would be only 10 minutes and I believe we were not immediately notified when our vehicle was ready.

It was horrible. We missed a connection in Charlotte after sitting on the taxiway for 2.5 hours waiting for a gate. We tried to get a rental car to get to our final destination. They accepted a reservation. We left the secured area of the airport to pick up the car. Just kidding, no cars. Went back to the terminal and got in line for TSA. After > hour, TSA shut down with no warning. We were stranded and had to sleep on the floor in the security corral. Rude and abusive treatment by airport staff, including management, made a bad situation much worse. In the future, we will avoid Dollar and Charlotte if at all humanly possible.

When we were near the end of a grueling day of international travel and east coast travel delays, Dollar accepted reservations for a car to help us complete a trip after we missed a connection. When we arrived at the connecting airport, we left the secured area to get the rental car to continue our trip. We were informed at the counter they had no cars available, nor did any other rental car companies at the airport. After an enlightening discussion about the DEFINITION OF THE WORD "RESERVATION" a la Seinfeld, we made our way back to the terminal to sleep on the floor since there were no hotel rooms available, either. After we stood in line at security for an hour, TSA abruptly closed for the night, leaving hundreds, potentially thousands, of people stuck between the curb and security with no services other than restrooms. Many people were crying because they were missing late night flights. After sleeping on the floor in the security corral, we finally got back through TSA to wait several more hours for our rebooked flight. Why do I BLAME DOLLAR for this nightmare? Because if they hadn't LIED ABOUT HAVING CARS AVAILABLE AND ACCEPTED RESERVATIONS, which we thought solved the problem, we wouldn't have had a travel experience so bad we are canceling all plans including Dollar, the airport, and the airline.

We never picked up a car because they were "out" in Charlotte despite booking a car online. Staff were nice and helpful at the time, despite the chaos, but it would've been helpful if the system told me there were no cars before we wasted so much time going there and waiting in line, etc.

I checked in on the Hertz app. I could select a car on the app. Went to 3 different lines to find a person with access to select a car. Had to provide DL and Credit Card again even though I had already uploaded in the app. Went out to get my car. 4th line. They changed me to another car to speed up my wait. Went to the gate to get out. 5th line. My reservation was cancelled given I was not assigned the different car in their system. Turned away from gate as a result. Had to go back inside to get a new reservation. 6th line. Picked up the same car and waited in line at the gate a second time to leave. 7th line. I promise I am not over exaggerating my experience. Very frustrating.

Hertz messaged me that they didn’t have my car, which I had confirmed and checked in for, and after that notification they made me stand in line 25 minutes at their desk to be told I couldn’t get any refund. I looked for a way to contact Kayak for a refund, and there was no contact info anywhere on Kayak’s web site. So never again, Hertz and Kayak.

There wasn’t anyone at the desk when I returned the vehicle, which is understandable considering ILM is a small airport and I arrived at 5am. But when I called later that day to ask about if they had processed the car back in the system and what the final price would be, the person on the phone was almost clueless and offered very little help. Only telling me that it’s a “corporate rental” and they don’t know anything regarding final costs. Super unsatisfactory and ambiguous answer.

I had expired plates the entire time. When police pulled me over that’s how I noticed. I rented it 8/2024 And plates had expired In 4/2024 literally more than enough time for them to notice. Gotta do better Car Wiz!

I don't recommend to anyone. Pick up was annoying because instead of having the info from kayak/priceline, they just push their own stuff. Then, the matter of limited miles per day. And finally, after the return they want to stack more charges. I was disputing when in the end, they cut off communication and were falsely gonna complain to tsa and cards network that I was a problem. It was a stressful nightmare and costed me 3 times more than i intended for a rental.

My flight from Chicago to Charlotte experience a 4 hour delayed due to storms and the closing of the airport in CLT (temporarily). By the time I landed in Charlotte, CarWiz was closed. I called and called and all I got was a recording stating the office is closed till next morning. I had to scramble and get a car at an astronomical price. I am NOT PAYING for anything with carWiz and I better not get charge for anything regarding this disaster of an experience.

After inquiring about discounts for activity military, I was told they had none. A week later they presented me an offer for $380 for 14 days which was about half of what they told me the week prior. Then when I went to go pick it up, they added an additional 390 in different fees. I don’t know if they try hoodwink everybody or just people in the military…

I had initially reserved a car June 14 of June 17, upon arriving they charged me an extra amount of money for the 17th when in fact I already paid the bill in full. Upon returning the rental in California Ontario international airport they increased the amount which is completely absurd.

The reps at Charlotte airport tried to give me another vehicle because they wanted to use me to drive it back since it was a one way rental. The ‘rep’ at Baltimore airport at check-in was extremely rude and disrespectful. I report this and they never addressed any of this.

Hey I’ve always seen this company sitting on the side and just thought, they probably want an arm and a leg for one of those nice cars. I drive a BMW 4 series and once you’ve drove luxury, it’s hard to go back. The price was lower than if I went and rent a Nissan Altima, crazy right. Maybe they had a special or just the timing was right. I like what I got and got a real experience.

When I first tried to book, they allowed me to go through the whole process and then told me there were no cars available. I tried again for a different car and was able to get one. I went to pick up the car and the woman at the counter told me that even though I had a reservation, if it was made that same day there were not any cars available. Then after she actually looked, she told me that my reservation was actually available but there were actually two under my name. I told her I was told that the first one didn't go through because there were no cars available at the time. Then she tried to upsell me on insurance I didn't need and intimidate me with fear tactics about what could happen if I didn't get the insurance. After all that I finally got the car. The car was mostly clean. It had some minor seat stains but it was a good experience. Then at the end of the trip I saw that SIXT charged my card twice, once for the actual rental and once for the one THEY canceled. I called them to dispute the charge and they told me they never actually canceled it, even though when I tried to book they told me there were no cars available. So SIXT charged me for a car they never had that I never rented.

Cons:

The representative said his only vehicle available was delivered from the airport location and the car had a heavy smoke smell. He said I could take it to the airport location to swap for another car. I appreciate it made the offer but don’t understand why the airport location provided the car to the other location knowing of the smoke problem. I did drive the 6 miles to the airport to make the swap. Personnel at both locations were friendly and professional.

Shuttle experience was good; not long to wait. Once on site of rental car, service was mediocre. Rep treated us like we were trying to take advantage and he kept repeating the policy even though we were not arguing the fact of paying extra fees. He just didn’t have the best customer service attitude. He chose the worst car when he found out it was a one-way rental; the car was missing a hubcap and was not the best comfort ride in the interstate.

Will never use Ace again. I called to get a shuttle to pick me up and the gentleman repeatedly hung up on me or couldn’t explain where I should get the shuttle. He then proceeds to tell my husband, who was finally able to get some information from him after he repeatedly hung up on me, that there are no cars available and we would have to wait for two hours. We never got a car with Ace and I never will in the future. We used another company with far better service.

Upon arrival at the airport, I requested a shuttle from ACE, only to be informed that they were fully booked and unable to accommodate me, despite my February booking and confirmation number. Terrible rental agency. Minimal cars. Downsized my reservation. Charged me my deposit of $500 saying I went out of their area. Nothing in contract about reservation areas. Poor attitude at the counter. Will never rent there or recommend to anyone.
