It is not Avis problem. It is miscommunication between kayak and Expedia. According to kayak the pickup location was 64 th street NYC. Were as in Avis and Expedia the location is different queens NY.

I waited in line at JFK for over an hour from 10-11am on a Friday morning to pick up my pre booked vehicle. It was a shambles - so very slow to process each customer. Never had such a wait at Hertz? That said, staff were ok, car was clean enough (not showroom condition) and have not yet returned so can’t comment.

There was a long wait to receive the car. The car arrived with a cut tire; luckily I noticed it before leaving, and they replaced it quickly. One of the windshield wipers was also faulty.

Right so Hertz didn’t have the car. They didn’t have cars for around 15 people who came on time for their reservations. They refused to take responsibility and snapped at us for getting upset. We had ever right to be. We made reservations and paid ahead of time. They told us they had no cars. There were none in any location in all of the city. How a car company whose sole business is focused on renting and reserving cars could operate this way is beyond me. Absolute clowns. Their initial solution was to tell people to wait and “see” for up to 3 hours if a car would become available. That’s insane. I ended up having to go book a car at an airport in New Jersey for double the price. Horrible. I’ll never trust Hertz again.

Front desk unhelpful. We rented a Tesla. Asked where & how to charge it. They said "no idea." We spent hours in the boonies trying to figure it out. Front desk NEVER answered the phone Returned the car to an incredibly surly attendant who yelled at us "move the f-ing car over here!" Quite an experience at 8am.

Over 10 minute wait at JFK. Other rental agencies had a minimal wait. Agents giving paper copies instead of digital contracts like major rental companies. Drive away was good. Return at ALB was confusing with GPS taking me to back of their lot. Had to return in the airport terminal vs a dedicated return line.

One week after returning the vehicle, I am still waiting for Budget to refund a $200 security deposit, which it imposed because I used a debit card. What’s the justification for that delay? Pickup was fine other than the fact that I rented a Cadillac and was given a Chrysler minivan. The return location at New Haven’s Union Station had no markings whatsoever. There is no way to know where to return the vehicle. I literally had to park the vehicle on the street and run inside the RR station to try to find the Budget office. In fact, there is no signage INSIDE, either. As it turns out, Budget & Avis share an office, with only an Avis sign. But my primary issue is, when am I going to get my security deposit back?

I was flying to Newark. My flight said Newark. Kayak and Expedia via Kayak booked me a car in New York. Worse, I was not able to modify it. I believe this the be an issue with Expedia and Kayak, but still. Thrifty needs to do a better job monitoring the websites that allow booking Thrifty cars.

Reservation was confirmed. I took the Air Train to the car rental location. There was a hand written sign saying they were out of cars and no reservations were being honored. They should not accept reservations if they have no cars. It was like a scene from Seinfeld! They take the reservation but they don’t HOLD the reservation.

They did not give me my rental vehicle. They said because I didn’t make the reservation 24hrs in advance, that it wasn’t valid. Left me, my wife, and 1 year old child stranded in New York. Wouldn’t rent us a car seat so we could take a taxi or Lyft. Completely cold. Worst experience.

No car ready, pornography type film playing in office. Car brought around after 45 mins waiting and it was full of garbage bags so had to wait a further 30mins Lady on desk very nice but really frustrated at guys dealing with cars. Also washing cars only last minute when customers are waiting is not good, we were an hour late to pick up vehicle and then it took 2 hours!! Disgraceful organisation

i came here after my reservation with ACE fell through - these guys brought me an upgrade in about 5 minutes despite not even having a registration for more than half an hour. was really impressed, & that's not something i'm used to saying about car rental places.

one "invisible bill", possibly linked to a toll bridge...or is that troll bridge? hmm
