Was able to pick up right in Manhattan. Upgraded to a 4 wheel drive when say conditions were bad. Was able to do a one way trip as needed all the way to Memphis. Other rental companies would not allow this. Good price and very friendly service.Reviewed 16 Mar. 2023

Terrible rental experience. Will not be using them again. We booked our car in advance and yet still had to wait an hour before any cars were available. When it finally did arrive it reeked of cigarette smoke and the service light was on. After driving for a few hours the gas tank still read full, as it turns out the gas guage was broken and nobody told us. The vehicle provided to me had a problem with the ABS system that made braking in ice conditions almost impossible and placed me and my family in grave danger whilst travelling in Vermont in winter. I have raised this with them and they indicate that there is nothing that can be done. I regard this as unacceptable and I will never rent from them again.Reviewed 12 Jan. 2023

Terrible customer service at the counter. They make it seem as if they are doing you a favor. Their customer service number is no better. What ever the call center tells you, be assured it’s a lie. I caught them lying to me multiple times and it cost me 100 dollars in taxi fees when they told me the location will wait for my delayed flight to come in. The staff at the Thrifty W 83 St New York is efficient and friendly. The car was fine. However, when we tried to add a day to our rental, it was impossible. At the various numbers we called , they told us that the only way to add a day to our rental was to go in person to Thrifty Corporate office, a preposterous offer. We gave up and did not add a day. When I told the staff at Thrifty W 83 St about this, while returning the car, they said they had never heard of such a policy.Reviewed 7 Nov. 2022

The front office was exceedingly efficient and helpful. I was an hour late returning my car, and it was my fault, so I declined the waived surcharged. I told him I should pay it. I was given a car that smelled terribly of cigarette smoke. Thrifty charge $400 to those who smoke in their vehicles, but appear to make no effort to rehab the car and eliminate the odor.
