Pros: Good car and upgraded us to a car with GPS when the car we had ordered was available.
Cons: Seemed like many hidden charges and costs when compared to other companies. Picking up took over an hour.

Quick and Painless
Pros: We brought in our voucher and picked up our car. The only thing that took any time was discussing the insurance because we were from out of the country and needed to review coverage options. The people at the counter were very friendly and gave us sightseeing tips.

Don't choose Easirent car rentals
Pros: good car
Cons: The extra insurance - CDW - was added in spite of my insistence my US credit card covered it, they said show us the VISA card insurance policy - who carries that around with them? - I will in future. The Edinburgh manager has all the charm and friendliness usually associated with a nightclub doorman - if you don't like it you can cancel - great attitude! I suggest everyone reads the online reviews about this company - I wish I had. By the tIme you get through it is no cheaper than Avis or Europcar and they are airport based.

cheapest, but be advised
Cons: The car rental facility is not at the airport, you have to take a shuttle to the airport. From the time I arrived to pick up the car, I had to wait an hour before I received the car and could drive away. They also added a mandatory insurance plan which cost 10 or 20 pounds. When I said I did not want insurance, they said you are not allowed to decline, so factor that into the price (which still leaves it less than many others.) It is the least expensive, but this is why you are paying less.

Pros: Hard working team, clean car.
Cons: Will make you pay minimum 50 Pounds extra for insurance, wait in line for a long time to be served. Feels very sketchy.

Pros: Nothing much
Cons: Over charged in an extreme way, massive wait times to check in, car had a check engine light on when received, wasn't properly cleaned before rental so my rental was delayed as they had to clean it.

Extra Fees charged
Pros: Pick up and drop off were really easy. The car was perfect for our trip.
Cons: I got charged additional fees that were no where on the receipt pre-booking or in any of the details. I was required to get insurance even though I already had it provided via my credit card. Also had to put down a fuel hold in case I didn't return the fuel. I was changed an international fee because I didn't have a fee-less credit card.

Horrible Wait times, Outside Airport, Hidden Taxes
Cons: I absolutely do not recommend this company. Rental location is outside airport, near no other rental companies. Wait time was over 1 hour to pick up car. Not all taxes were disclosed at the time I booked. Pressure to buy very expensive extra insurance. Gas cap cover fell off car while driving, charged me 200 pounds for that. Never again.

Pros: That I was able to cancel the reservation and get a nicer car for less than Easirent had originally promised.
Cons: I made the reservation in January with a price of 383 pounds but the price ballooned to 447 pounds in June without explanation.

Easirent doesn't care about customer service.
Pros: I wish I could think of something to write.
Cons: As I waited in line to drop off the vehicle, my friends left my GPS and CDs in the console between the seats. When I contacted Easirent the same day to inform them, they said they would recover it for me so I can get it shipped back to me, but after repeated follow-up e-mails and phone calls, they won't respond. Easirent is the WORST rental company I've ever dealt with. I would NEVER recommend Easirent to anyone! All they care about is getting your money... there is NO customer service! I'm hoping Kayak can intervene somehow and advocate for me.

Do not rent from this company!!
Cons: We got charged $21,000 for the car because we opted out of purchasing their insurance. Our credit card then got declined and we spent most of our vacation on the phone with our bank and Easirent trying to fix the problem. It was a huge hassle and definitely not an easy rental!!

Did not rent
Cons: No counter at the airport, but we were told a bus would come by and take us to the location. Tried to call Easirent and no answer. Waited 45 minutes and finally took other transportation to Easirent location. Very difficult to find and very small sign at location. Easirent employee was walking across lot to the counter and told us "he would see what he could do" regarding the vehicle we had reserved. Several deep in the Que by then and both clients at counter were clearly upset with transaction. Sorry, but bad experience.

Pros: There is a systemic problem in the car rental business at the moment. When you book cars in countries outside of your own though websites like Kayak or Expedia you get offered insurance for a good rate, yet when you get to the rental counter the local agent insists that you cannot take the car without purchasing insurance from them. The bigger companies seem to deal with this, however Easirent is a small company with its offices far from the airport's "rental center" in a trailer in a distant parking lot. The counter people were pleasant, but insistent that the car had to have insurance from them. I refused and the compromise they offered was a 32,000 pound "hold" on my AmEx card. I ultimately agreed to this as I knew that, if there was a problem, I was amply insured.....but it is a poor way to do business and a guaranteed way to never get a return customer. Beyond that, the car was fine...although delivered with only a 1/4 tank of gas....again not-a-deal-breaker, but poor form. The price was very good, although not good enough for the hassle of 1. finding the location 2. dealing with the insurance issue 3. realizing that they probably did not have much in the way of road service. All went well, but I would not rent from them again.

Bait and switch
Pros: The car was great. Clean, worked well and no trouble. Staff had a sense of urgency and moved fast to help.
Cons: You are forced to buy insurance if you don't have a $25,000+ limit on your credit card!!! This and other hidden charges immediately double or triple the price and make you feel scammed. If you purchase the insurance online, it doesn't cover you!!! This bait-and-switch tactic of offering a low price online and then forcing you to pay extra when you are captive to the easirent counter with luggage in hand and family waiting in the rain is completely unscrupulous. The Vauxhall Corsa was brand new, so I had to drive to a filling station straight away and fill the tank (inconvenient).

Cons: The car that i reserved was not available. After waiting 1.5 hrs in line or for my car the manager said I could have another car. Then an hour into the trip an alert came on the dash for 'AdBlue'. Upon research the car would fail to start after the level of AdBlue was low enough. Sure enough I had to go way out of my way for this unexpected problem for which they said they would reimburse me (to which I have not yet been reimbursed). Then I was quoted at a £80 less than what I was charged. This again was a problem on their side because I had waived the liability and put a deposit on the car so I should not have been charged that £80. When I talked to the person about getting that taken care of, she said she didn't know how to go about that and would email me the next day. Of course, the day has come and gone and no email. So very disappointed with my rental experience.

Pros: The car was small and easily negotiated UK's one track roads.
Cons: I didn't like the fact Kayak quoted one price and the company quoted quite another upon arrival at the rental counter. I was quoted GBP 104.74 and ended up paying GPB 284.69. I had research my auto insurance coverage using my VISA card and planned to use it instead of the car rental company's insurance. Easirent said that if I used VISA I would have to put the full cost of the vehicle on my card of GBP 15,000! Needless to say that would have taken most of my cards limit leaving nothing for other trip expenses. I was literally forced into buying their insurance. This should have been communicated by Kayak! The car I rented was a Kia Picanto that had been damaged in a side-swipe. I made sure I took plenty of pictures before I left the lot.

Poor customer service
Pros: The car was fine for a day in Scotland.
Cons: Car needed oil change, customer service at airport was good. We were not told about an extra charge for dropping the car off at the downtown location when we were told it would be fine to do so. Gentleman at desk (Liem) was not understanding and did not attempt to make it right for the customer. Very disappointed in this experience.

Avoid At All Costs
Cons: Everything. Reserved a car months in advance. Nothing was available when I got to their office/shed. Their excuse was that they had three cars stranded in Inverness.

Wrong car, poor condition, extra chargees
Pros: The staff were friendly and likeable. Pickup and drop-off were fairly easy and convenient to the airport.
Cons: I booked a luxury class car for 9 days in Scotland. Upon arrival, I was informed that no luxury class car was available, but for the same price, I'd be "upgraded" to a mini-van. Well, I didn't want or need a mini-van, but wasn't given any other option. I was told it was the only available automatic transmission car. In addition, I had to pay a large fee that wasn't explained or made clear on the kayak site. It was 100.00 pounds, so about $130.00. I still don't know if that was a legitimate fee, but it was unexpected. Also the car rental company insisted I carry expensive insurance, or else take a deposit for the total value of the car, more than 27,000.00 pounds - obviously untenable. So a lot of hidden and expensive fees. Lastly, the mini-van was in poor condition, with dents and damage. It was dirty, and had only half a tank of fuel. Additionally, the nav system was all but useless, forcing me to buy a phone to use for navigation.

Cons: Arrived at easiest with reservation and they immediately tried to upgrade/smooth talk me into a car with Substantially higher. I said no thank you and the lowest they had was still double original quote that I reserved. I walked away and rented from europecar via an Autoeurope booking.

Not worth it
Pros: Car was brand new
Cons: Unlike all the other rental companies, you have to take a bus Easirent. Returning the car is also a pain because there are no signs leading you to their location. Ironically, the car's GPS doesn't have Easirents location; we had to use our phone's map app. Obviously, you have to take a bus back to the airport to catch your plane or taxi, so it's just a hassle. The price ended up not being as cheap as advertised and if I would have know, I'd have gone with Hertz.

Dreadful car hire, never again
Pros: Disasterous car rental service from GreenMotion Avoid like the plague
Cons: Didn't have the automatic car we ordered Waited a good hour in the cold after completing all paperwork And was an unexpected off site shuttle NEVER AGAIN

my car rental experience
Pros: The car size and relative roominess and vehicle performance.
Cons: The hard sell for additional insurance. the fact that they did not have a basic city Map. The car was empty of fuel and there was no easy direction of where one could purchase gas (Diesel) especially with no map. I did not feel comfortable dealing with the sales/counter people, seemed unprofessional and not very concerned of my concerns such as fuel level, map of area. Also car had no users manual, which is OK except this was a diesel engine which shut off whenever there was a prolonged stop, at first I thought there was a problem with the vehicle, this could have been explained or could have been easy to determine if there was a manual in the vehicle.

Cons: It was a little confusing where to find the shuttle bus at the airport upon arrival

Overall good service
Pros: Nice, comfortable car, very friendly staff, easy to drop-off
Cons: Off-site from airport so have to take a shuttle to get the car. This was not provided in instructions.
