Pros: We stayed in three hotels during our trip to Italy, and this was our favorite. Very centrally located, a short walk to all the museums, etc. The staff is extraordinarily helpful and sincerely friendly. The room was gorgeous, the breakfast the best we've experienced in a long time. We'd definitely stay here again if we returned to Florence.

Cons: Our only complaint is Florence is a noisy city at night and that requieres windows that are soundproof. If they change this, its a 5 star for us.

Pros: I liked the location. The hotel is beautiful and the people who work there are friendly and very helpful. The room was clean and had all I needed for the night I stayed there. The taxi for the airport was there in 3 minutes. Probably my review should say excellent rather than good.
Cons: The drain in the shower was slow. I forgot to mention that to the front desk employees. I'm sure they would have fixed that if I had let them know.

Pros: Love the location of this hotel - very close to Pitti Palace and Boboli gardens, as well as the Ufizzi. I love the area and literally seeing the Boboli garden house from the breakfast table. The breakfast is pretty nice quality and the view from the terrace is one of the nicest in Florence. The hotel has also adopted two friendly cats that laze on the terrace. The staff has always been terrific.
Cons: I did not like the noise this time. I have stayed at this hotel before, but on upper floors. This time I was on the second floor and the street noise of the vendors setting up at 5 am, and people stumbling and singing back from the bars late into the night was more than I'd experienced previously. The two things that were upsetting this time, were 1) a fellow patron across the hall woke me up at 2 am on my first night there as he spoke loudly into his cell phone for 20 solid minutes, then again at 2:30 another call and again at 3 am a third. he apparently didn't want to bother the woman who was staying with him, who complained loudly, so he stepped into the hallway to take his calls right in front of my door, and proceeded to literally yell into his phone like there was a bad NASA connection to Mars. The second thing that was pretty bad this time was it seemed that the cleaning staff arrived at 5- 5:30 am every morning and proceeded to walk around directly above, sorting out their carts for the day. We really like this hotel, but if we have to endure this kind of noise, we will find another favorite place.

Pros: The rooftop garden restaraunt panoramic view is breathe taking! the food was delicious pricey but well worth every bite. The service was very classy, polite, attentive and friendly the staff made me and my two daughters feel very special. The waiter brought my daughter a shawl when he saw that she was cold and offered us one as well. Our room had a window with a view for people watching, the maid kept our room very clean, every evening when we arrived back from a long day our beds would be turned down waiting for us. The location of the hotel was perfect every thing in walking distance. Doormen and bell hops very friendly and courtesy. The gentleman that checked us in was friendly and welcoming and accommodate us with a bigger room when we revealed to him that our room was too small for 3 girls. We were hoping to see him again next day to thank him but we never saw him again. The breakfast is wonderful and delicious! Lots of food even at 945! i love the historical story of the hotel and old pictures of the hotel in the past. The antique furniture, history, and decor can only be appreciated by historical buffs. A historical beauty!
Cons: Some of the front desk staff were snooty and not very welcoming. The first gentleman we met was friendly we saw him only once out of the six days we were there. When I did ask questions front desk staff very short and make you feel like you are troubling them. The first room #145 was way to small for a mom and two teenage girls. I had adapters for my phone and the only one it would fit in was the bathroom. The Internet is very weak (which I knew coming in seems to be # 1 complaint). When you first walk thru revolving doors there is a woman sitting at a table not sure if she is with hotel however she is not very welcoming she is first person you see and she does not smile or say hello she does not make eye contact she is setting the tone and it is not good, smile say Bon Journo!

Pros: We loved our stay at the Cavour. The location made it so easy to get to all the sights and we enjoyed having a drink watching the sun go down from the rooftop. The junior suite was ample room for the kids and us and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. Definitely will be staying here again.

The breakfast is included and had something for any appitite including cappucino and expresso! Loved it there!

They are doing some construction to the entire exterior of the hotel, so you may have noise (but it was only during the day), and you may have people walking around the outside looking into our room. It's also a loss of safety to have all that scaffolding up. Also, loss of views out the windows from rooms that face outside. Some people may not be bothered by any of this.

Pros: I only stayed for one night in a single room. Although it was nice and clean the room is definitely too small. The staff was very nice, friendly and helpful and the hotel is a few minutes walk from the SMN train station if needed.
Cons: I stayed in a few hotels throughout Italy and while most are small this one was by far the smallest room I stayed in. There was no room for me to open my small luggage and be able to walk. I usually live out of luggage so its not convenient, but if you take stuff out and use the rack they provide it would be ok.

The rooms were clean (with your own private bathroom) and staff were friendly. There was also a small elevator in the hotel. Breakfast was comparable to other American hotel free breakfasts.

Cons: Noise was a huge problem. The walls are paper thin and my neighbor played his TV screaming loud ALL NIGHT LONG! The front desk was not helpful in solving the problem. The room was spartan. It had a small bed and a shower so tiny that there was no way to avoid the water to soap up without turning off the shower. The air conditioning worked and it was clean. I would give a higher score if not for the noise.

Cons: It is too noisy for being next to train station, my room has the windows that did not close properly and when reported they personal just had excuses and told that they were no other rooms available . Seems the motto that client never has the reason, not even a refund !

Pros: It was a bit difficult to find it, but it is very close to the rail station and a 5 min was to the Duomo. Not so comfortable mattress, but clean and comfy rooms. The complementary breakfast was amazing.

Pros: Stuff we liked: 1. The location was hard to beat - we could walk everywhere. 2. The free breakfast in the morning was a nice way to start the day. 3. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful - got us reserved tickets into Ufizzi and Academia and provided helpful suggestions. 4. Room was clean and bathroom was on par for what I have come to expect from Italy. Air conditioning and wifi were nice to have.
Cons: To be honest, we were really pleased with the place considering price, location, and friendliness of staff. The one thing I would say is that the bed - while not uncomfortable and completely adequate - was not an incredibly comfortable bed. But it worked - we slept great.
