The line to pick up your car in Fort Myers was over 2 hours long. I cancelled my rental and instead created one with Alamo that had only a short line. I was told the Budget line is often long at that location. There is no online checkin and quick pick up for Budget unless you do it well ahead of time. I even tried to join their rewards program while in line but it did not allow me to switch to a quick pick up. I recommend not using Budget at this location unless you are a rewards member and arrange for the quick pick up service. If you do, do not prepay so that you are stuck in a two hour line. Set it up so you can pay at arrival and are able to cancel if you face a long wait.

The pick-up line at RSW was horrendous. The Budget counter had 50 people deep and there was practically no one at the other companies. It was not staffed properly. That is terrible resource management.

They recorded the mileage incorrectly and charged me for 1,200 miles. I drove very little and never filled the tank, so the actual mileage should probably be 200. I filed a complaint with dollar, but was denied.

One hour wait time to pick up vehicle - unable to use online check in as cars were extremely oversold. Was directed to an area with no available cars only to wait longer to get more assistance. We had to change our drop off due to Hurricane Milton and cancelled flights. I called customer service to advise and they said there would be no charge because we were being impacted by the hurricane. They charged. They doubled the agreed upon rate. DOUBLED. Liars. Predatory behavior.

the car was ok, but there was wear and tear damage that i did not want to be blamed for nor charged for, so there was extra time needed for check out. on return, there was no one greeting the cars and only after waiting for about 10 minutes did I see a sign saying one should note the mileage and fuel, but there was no quick/easy way to find the odometer setting on the car, and how would I note the mileage without a pen if I did find the setting?

I was very satisfied overall, we thought the pick up process could have/should have been quicker. Especially since we had done the online check in, we still had to wait in line for 30 minutes. The car seats that we rented were very low quality and the infant seat was missing an anchor strap that I had to improvise to install it safely in the car. The vehicle was clean and new, very nice. Drop off was very easy, just pulled up and parked walked away. I would recommend Thrifty and we’ll likely use them again.
