Thrifty representative charged me for unauthorized add-on’s related to insurance. This along with how they don’t mention anything about tolls until weeks after your trip you get a bill from them, they charge 3 times the toll amount just for profit and make no mention of it when you rent. Just google thrifty to see the multitude of bad reviews about the exact topics of unauthorized Billings and toll fees. Never using them again amd so sad that Kayak continues to offer them as a reputable company. Stay away and avoid the headache.Reviewed 2 May 2022

Tank wasn't full, then filled and was charged some when I returned it full. Car wasn't super clean. The service at pick up was really slow - over 1.5 hour wait to get my car which is awful when it's already reserved and paid for, and we had a long travel day. Not super pleased overall.Reviewed 6 Apr. 2022

The line at the airport took over 1 hour. Then, once I found a car on the rental lot and tried to leave their computer system crashed and I had to wait another 15 minutes at the gate because they couldn't let me go without verifying my info on the computer. It was my worst car rental experience in the US in my 30 years of business travel.Reviewed 23 Feb. 2022

If there were a rating lower than POOR, that would be right. My car broke down 5 miles from my pickup at Ft Myers airport. I immediately called Thrifty's Roadside Assistance and was told that a tow truck would arrive within an hour. 19 HOURS LATER the car is still where it died. No one at Thrifty has been able to get the car towed, despite multiple phone calls, texts and messages via Twitter from me. To add insult to injury, I received a response saying that it is not their policy to refund a rental fee. DO NOT RENT FROM THRIFTY!!!Reviewed 22 Feb. 2022

Pick up took over one hour waiting in line at the counter. Cars in PU spots had service notes written on windows yet were still there w keys ready to go.Reviewed 14 Feb. 2022

Desk rental agent was not clear on the pre-paid gas option. It was added to my bill when without my consent -- I always decline as I rent cars at RSW often and know exactly how much gas I will need - which is never close to a full tank. I always decline. Agent led me to believe it was part of the rental agreement and included. The rental desks were all crowded with long lines and she took advantage of the situation. I asked her to confirm the rate before departing and she cleverly stated - yes, that is the rate including the gas - bring back empty. She never asked me directly is if i wanted pre-paid fuel option. A win for thrifty because had no time to fight. But won't rent from Thrifty or the consortium of rental companys now under the same banner.Reviewed 30 Nov. 2021

They did not have the car we reserved ready. We had to wait over 30 minutes for the car. There were multiple warning lights including being out of key fluids. Accordingly, for 8 days we did not have washer fluid and the key fob battery was dying so it did not work well either. Finally, we were charged a fuel charge that we did not consent to. We returned the car with gas but were charged $70 for fuel.Reviewed 29 Nov. 2021
