POOR COMMUNICATION, CONFLICTING INFORMATONCons:I arrived at the El Paso airport, which is apparently not the same Hertz despite it being listed as an onsite facility on Kayak. The person at that desk, I believe his name was Ben (a bald man), called the correct Hertz and asked if they were able to provide a ride for me. He informed me that they could not but that my taxi ride over would be reimbursed. I asked for the manager's name so that I could speak to him specifically when I got there and ensure my reimbursement. The man, Ben, then also told me that I could drop off my car at his(airport) location when I returned. When I took a $15 taxi over, the manager refused to reimburse me and even had a sign saying specifically that they do not reimburse taxi rides from the airport location. They had another sign that said that they also do not pick up people from the airport and informed me that they used to until the airport location complained about them taking business. I don't understand what Ben was doing on the phone. He knew before calling that they didn't pick up customers nor reimburse taxi rides and still told me otherwise. Further, the location told me that I would be charged extra if I dropped off my car at the airport location. This location went on to inform me that they do in fact offer a drop off service to the airport and that I would be taken care of when I dropped off the car on Sunday. When I arrived they were closed because they, apparently, are closed on Sundays. I walked to the airport and almost missed my flight. If Hertz does not contact me, I will be contacting them to speak to a customer service representative. Pros:Store was closed at my scheduled pick up.. II lost. Whole night of travel. First car was dirty . Had and wipe down windows to see right. The front wheel had a huge “ chunk” missing from it and I had to exchange the car after I drove the car 10 hours. Very unsafe! The rear view mirror would fall off with bumps. Very unsafe. The front wheel had no under carriage. I was initially told the car had been checked... I seriously doubt it. When I called the closest hertz the manager ( regionall) was rude and unwilling to help. I had to drive to the airport to exchange it. The second car was much better and staff at airport (Austin) was great!Cons:Read my comments. I could be reimbursed . Bad communication led to frustrating pick-up/drop offPros:Car was in good shape, personnel were friendly and professional for he most part.Cons:Calling ahead to confirm pick up location didn't work, since upon arrival to airport, Hertz agent tells me my reservation was for another location. They have no way (according to agent) to facilitate a rental made for another location. This is hard to believe. Agent suggested to take cab and that other agency would reimburse because pick up from other location is supposed to take over 1 hr (other agency is 1.5m away). upon arrival to other agency, local manager suggests that emailed taxi receipt is not valid proof for reimbursement. Luckily, agent working with me suggested that I email him the receipt and he would print it. I'm thankful for his initiative and hope it didn't get him in trouble with unhelpful manager. Agent at location #1 failed to mention only up to $10 is reimbursed. My fare was $15. We need agents to be transparent and to help facilitate our navigation between locations because of these mix ups. If calling ahead to confirm pick up location doesn't work, then we can only count on rental personnel to rectify these situations in an efficient manner.Reviewed 1 May 2017
