Bad from the start. Checked in and had to provide card used for booking. Since it was booked online through apple pay, no card was used. I was forced to call customer service to change the card although it was pre-paid. This caused a 15 minute delay. Then when I went back to the counter, after checking me in, they said the car would be ready in 40 minutes at 2:40. My check in was 1:30. Of course they offered that if I paid for an upgrade it would be ready now. Scam.Reviewed 10 Jun. 2023

I have Hertz Gold, but they still made me go through all the license and credit card stuff because their computer can't handle that the reservation came from Kayak, even though the booking was on their site. Took forever. Also the car did not have a functioning air conditioner, and it was a hot weekend, so the whole experience was bad.Reviewed 24 Apr. 2023

We booked a full size SUV (GMC Yukon) 2 weeks in advance, when we reached to pick up first of all we had to wait in line for more than an hour and then we were told that the vehicle we requested ]wasn't available and had to downgraded to a minivan the guy at the counter had an attitude of take it or leave it.Reviewed 14 Mar. 2023

Our customer service experience with Hertz was just awful. They were not willing to move the reservation by 1 day, and they were very rude about it. There is no reason the reservation could not be moved. I checked online and there were cars available, and actually at a better price than what we booked it for. There was a really long line to pick up the car and then when we got to our car it had a "Routine maintenance required" message displayed so then we had to wait again to get a new car. Quicker check in/customer service would have been great!Reviewed 8 Aug. 2022
