Cons: Massively overrated. Compared to other comparably priced hotels, this was a disappointment. First, we were given a room that smelled of cigarette and cigar smoke. The toilet in our room was broken, as was the TP holder, and the television remote control. The staff was apologetic and promptly moved us to another room room. Apart from that, the accommodations just were not at the level of other similarly priced and rated hotels. We booked based on those ratings and it’s clear to me now that they are inflated and misleading.

Cons: I was on a room facing the street, and although the street was generally quiet, around 8am of each morning a gardener of the property across the street with a very loud blower waked us up. I would avoid the rooms facing the street due to this. I realize this is not the hotel’s fault.

Cons: The staff on reception desk is not informative. No maps were provided. The breakfast is fair, good quantity, but too expensive for the quality. The signal quality of Internet is fair, free if you use you own computer, or with an extra cost of you use their computers and printers.

Cons: My high evaluation of value for money of this hotel is based on the special offer we booked (80 euros a night with breakfast included). However, when we asked about the price for our next stay in september, we were told the same room would cost 160 euros, which is too much for the amenities you get. In my opinion, this is a good 3stars hotel, but no more than that.

Pros: Location made it very easy to get anywhere in the city. Hotel staff were very friendly and very helpful. Alberto was the most pleasant staff member I've ever encountered. About 10 minutes walk from PumPum Cafe which was great for breakfast. Hotel rooftop is a great place to hang out and relax in the sun. I didn't order any drinks or food but from what I saw it all looked great.

Pros: We had a very warm wellcome by a very attractive and charming Receptionist called Alberto! We felt like coming home even it was our first time there.We got a free upgrade to an amazing huge room ! Room was fab, roof terasse top, staff also the cleaning ladies so friendly! happy happy us! 10 points go to axel madrid! Thank u! P.s. the only little complain is the metall toilett room door stopper on the floor, we both hurt our feets badly...i would put some plastic there.

Hotel Axel has the best service in town, as we stepped into the reception, manager David surprised us with the most amazing upgrade, so we stayed in the Suite - i have never seen a room so beautiful... we ended up staying one more night, just because the suite and hotel Axel was so amazing. Extremely good value for money, everything was so luxurious. Rooftop pool is also so so good!! Possibly the kindest hotel staff i have ever met. I will definetly come back to Axel!
