The car was fine and exactly as promised once we received it. It took them an hour to get us a car. They only have one person working so if they are getting a car, the desk is completely unmanned. When we returned the car, no one was there to take the keys. I ended up snapping a pic of my keys and return details and leaving it on the desk, as I needed to catch my flight. Be careful of the agreed rate when you prebook vs what they try to charge. Needed a couple corrections.Reviewed 8 Mar. 2023

We mixed up timezones, so we arrived an hour later than we said we would and they had already given our car to someone else and didn't have any other cars for us. We had to find another company at the last minute and pay a lot more.Reviewed 13 Feb. 2023

There are NO signs in front of the Aruba airport to direct you to Payless. Nothing whatsoever to direct you to the building next to the airport that only has Payless in it along with a hotel. Even calling the 800 number they had no idea where the offices were located. Only after going to Budget did they know where the Payless office was located.Reviewed 15 May 2022

We had reserved a car for pick up near our hotel and were then told the pick up was available only at the airport location. We then proceeded to pay for a taxi to the airport only to be told, after waiting in line for 45 minutes that they gave our reservation to the gentleman in front of us in line. I asked the agent what the point of booking a reservation, only to be told that it is first come, first served. She also said we were late for pick up. Pick up was at 10:30am, we arrived at 10:15 and had we not had to wait in line behind the person that later received our rental we would have arrived in plenty of time. Very disappointed, poor service and a waste of $65 dollars as we then had to pay for a taxi back to our hotel.Reviewed 23 Feb. 2022

Avoid Payless. Upon arrival we were bluntly told they ‘had no cars’ ‘were overbooked and could not do anything for us’ When reminded of their responsibility to honor the reservation the representative gruffly told us that they could not hire from another company. There we were stranded at the airport with kids. Very unprofessional, very rude, and unfortunately quite in character. The car rental company overbooked the office. Despite that, confirmation emails were sent repeatedly - the last one 24 hours before the pickup. When arriving at the office (by taxi) I was told that there is no car available, and no alternatives or compensation could be offered. In the end the booking can be regarded as "cheap talk" and ended up costing me money for absolutely nothing in return.Reviewed 27 Dec. 2021

I made a reservation through your site and there was no car when I got there. I am under the impression that the entire point of your business is to make reservations as I have never seen a plane, hotel, or car with “Kayak.com” printed anywhere on these things making you guys a 3rd party reservation company. If your only business is to make it easier for me to compare prices and then make a reservation, and then the reservation is not honored by the company’s you partner with it would seem to me that in reality you do very little to make travelers lives easier and, in fact make them much more complicated when people arrive at their destination in some foreign country and have to battle with their phones in attempts to correct the very thing you claim to be the primary reason for your businesses existence. I would get it if say I tried to book tennis lessons through kayak as I have never seen tennis lessons offered through kayak but when it comes to flights, hotels, and cars I would have assumed you had that dialed in.
