Room wasn't fully clean. When I arrived dirty tissues were around and a wet washcloth. Hotel was full and there were no other rooms. Hotel was loud with lots of drinking from bar on second floor. I had to call hotel a couple of times and no on answers the phone. Very frustrating.
The location is close to Union Square.
Super small room, but that's not what really bothered me. I was an Expedia Gold Plus Member and I didn't get offered the VIP Service that was expected from them when I checked in, at 4:30am the sound of beer bottles being thrown into trash cans woke me up, that went on for more than half an hour, the noise was so disturbing, right next to out window. If that wasn't enough, it was Sunday morning at 6am and the Trash Truck pounded with the Trash Dispensers so loud, it was ridiculous. To complicate things more, I went to use the restroom in the morning and the bathroom got clogged, someone had to come up after a long wait so my friend could actually use the bathroom, which was so small that I hit my elbow every time with the sink. After that incident, I was just so tired to find that the towel I used after I showered had blood stains on it. This was such a horrible stay I can't even express how bad. The elevator is an antique tiny elevator, which took forever everytime we wanted to go down, especially when wanting to check out that morning, waited up to 10 minutes just to be able to use the elevator, I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone, terrible night.
Poor wifi connection. Room is quite small
Excellent staff, very helpful. Great location- 2 blocks from Union Square and right across the street from a bus line.
When we checked in there was a dead bug on the bathroom floor. Still there 4 days later when we checked out. Not the best cleaning. Very tiny rooms and you need to be a giant to hang up your clothes in the closet.
The room was neat and efficient, especially enjoyed the shower. Bartenders were knowledgeable, handsome, and professional.
Into The Mystic
Fabulous aesthetics, excellent service, loved the vibe of the bar, outstanding live music, inventive menu, and perfect continental breakfast.
Would have liked a coffee maker in the room.
Style and location of the hotel were excellent, especially being close to a moderately-priced public parking garage.
We stayed on 2 separate nights at the beginning and end of our vacation, as we were traveling down to Big Sur and back. The first stay was quite nice, minus one of the concierges who was overly loud and also quite rude when I called down to ask if our room had been treated for bedbugs (we had seen stains on the corners that looked like bed bug waste; turns out they weren't). Our second night was in a similar room, but the windows were either single-paned or not sealed correctly: it was horrendously noisy. Probably not a huge problem on an average day, but it was Halloween night, so it was exceptionally loud. Also, the shower was missing several tiles and looks like it had been that way for awhile.
Really nicely done interior, nice bathroom, very friendly staff and an excellent breakfast buffet included in a great rate. It was all around fantastic. Dinner was phenomenal also. Highly recommended – I would come back any time.
