I recently rented a car from Thrifty/Hertz, and unfortunately, the experience was far from what I expected. The vehicle I was given was at least 12 years old, underpowered, and felt like it was on the verge of falling apart. It drove poorly and didn't give any sense of reliability or comfort—definitely not the quality I expected from a rental. The check-in and return process were frustratingly slow. You had to be very proactive just to get someone's attention, and it felt like they weren't very organised or attentive to customers' needs (perhaps understaffed for the # clients?). To top it off, I had to take a shuttle ride to the airport, which added more time and inconvenience to the process. On top of the issues with the car and service, there were multiple deposit charges placed on my credit card at the time of rental. These were for a vehicle that might be worth around $1,500, which felt excessive considering the condition of the car. I won't be returning to this rental company in the future and will definitely try a different option next time. It was an overall disappointing experience and I would rather pay 50-100 more to have that better experience.Reviewed 30 Mar 2025

extremely poor. will never use this company again. Reserved midsize vehicle to accommodate 5 people and 2 luggage’s, they brought me this vehicle that can hardly fit 2 people for the midsize vehicle. Had to upgrade to a larger vehicle which in the web description would qualify for midsize vehicle for substantial more money. The pick up and drop off is a nightmare. Small office for a lot a people. The only negative would be the pick up/ drop off system they have. Its all manually done, lots of paperwork. Not a problem when there are not many customers, but really a pain when the there is a line out the door of people waiting to pick up or return. Automation would be awesome! Pros:The whole process was a complete nightmare.Cons:The whole process was a complete nightmare! We were given a downgrade from the car we originally rented and told we could pay twice as much for the car we originally rented if we still “wanted it.” A total bait and switch! Also we stood in the sun arguing with them about this for 1.5hrs with a 6 year old. Never rent from this Thrifty or the Hertz which are basically combined!Reviewed 7 Apr 2021

Pros:The staff was friendly at the airport and shuttle. Facility was close to airport, though there are rental facilities at the actual airport.Cons:The car I reserved was not the car I was given. It seriously looked like a golf cart. The employee said “oh if you rent online they always tell you the wrong car”. So, beware. It will not have enough seats or trunk space. You will be forced to upgrade to a bigger golf cart.Reviewed 28 Mar 2021
