How much is a Tesla car rental in Victoria?

When we checked in at the end of our rental, we were given the quick printout that applied to another car and driver. We did not discover this until after we had gone through airport security and were waiting for our flight.

The line was over an hour and a half long to pick up my car. They know ahead of time how many reservations they have and were ill prepared. The first agent I worked with was rude, condescending, and tried more than once to rush me into entering my credit card and accept things I clearly told him I didn’t want like paying in advance for tolls and gas. I then waited an additional half hour for a manager who checked me out. The manager was fine to work with.

I made the mistake of making my reservation downtown Victoria which the National employee caught that mistake, since i was at the airport ready to pick up the van. He helped me a great deal by finding me a van available at the airport so I could not be more grateful! Very polite, kind, helpful and provided a lot of information to a newcomer to Victoria! I would rent a vehicle from them again!

Pros:

Friendly staff, excellent location, nice comfortable vehicle.

Cons:

A little difficult to return the vehicle due to one way roads not easily maneuverable but on the 2nd go-around we figured out how to get into the lot and through the road construction. Nice staff, but they really scrutinize the vehicle so take pictures before you drive off the lot.

We went to National twice after driving a distance to get there and were not able to add a second driver either time. Misinformation, computer system down, nobody there. Very frustrating,.

God experience, would recommend. However damage report was wrong and when challenged I was told to talk a video. Damage report not updated. Which caused worry throughout the hire. However there were no problems on return so all good.

Pros:

Staff was good, location was good, parking for my vehicle was available and reasonably priced. The vehicle was in perfect condition and the late drop provision was very easy.

Cons:

I reserved a minivan very specifically, because I needed that size of vehicle. When I picked it up though, they did not have any minivans at all. They said my options were either a Suburban or a Ford Flex. I reserved a van because I needed a van. It didn’t really work that well, but we made do.

everything on time and as expected however... the new electronic "agreement" seems pretty sketchy, no hard copy for the customer... could easily be changed on their side cant fit all the negatives into the better part, oops

Cons:

first off, the guy who i picked up the car from straight up lied to me saying gas from them would be 2.15/liter if i dropped it off empty, saying its below market price, great deal, no extra fees... wow sounds very nice... i looked closer at the electronic agreement, nope, almost 3.00/liter....

second time this location has incorrectly charged me for wrong fuel when I return. The car was 8/8 full but they claimed it was 7/8 when I had just filled up 5km away in town.Thank god I took photos of the fuel gauge and milage so I can charge back to my credit card. Such scammers this particular location. Won't us again

I was able to choose the exact car I wanted and was even able to reserve a cooler and boogie board to use for the week. The car was in like-new condition. The free shuttle was convenient, fast and the drivers were nice. The location was a little bit further from the airport, but it wasn't a problem.

It was the first time we rented via Turo, so I don't have a good base reference to compare in general, and can only compare to car rental experiences with commercial fleets (like Budget or Enterprise). In general it was okay -- we made it to where we were going and back, with no major issues. It's doable. However, there were some "surprises" where things didn't quite got as we expected: * We made rental reservation with expectation that we're picking up at the airport. When we got there, it turned out that the car is not at the airport, and the address given to us turned out to be what seemed to be Portland's airport Fire Rescue Tower (where, obviously, we can't even walk to or be at). We called the owner, and turned out that the car is at some house that's "not far" from the airport, and gave us new address. So additional expense of taking Uber/Lyft to get to the car (and apparently that address exists in two neighboring towns, and somehow Uber/Lyft took us first to the wrong one, so we had to take another ride, but that's not a Turo issue, just more expense as a consequence of car not being at the airport as promised). * When we got there, we called the owner to get the keys: "-- Keys are under front door's floormat. -- Nope, they're not there. -- Then try mailbox? -- Yes, they're there." The owner wasn't there, which is okay to do this all remote, but would be nicer if owner was in general "on top of things" such as where the car is and where it is expected to be picked up, where exactly are its keys, etc. * Then owner requested that prior to return we take the car to be washed and cleaned inside and out. We neither planned on looking for car detailing places in Portland, nor for time that it would take away from sightseeing, nor for extra substantial expense it would be. We pushed back and the owner backed off saying that he'll let it go due to confusion with pickup location (and apparently he didn't send some email that he was supposed to send, or something along those lines). * And while the car wasn't too dirty, it wasn't clean to begin with (which made detailing request that more amusingly odd). Crumbs on floor and seats and luggage compartment. Worst part was that windshield was dirty on the inside that was minor unpleasant at daytime, but as driving progressed into night time, it was quite significant as it was blurring lights and affected visibility substantially. * We also added additional driver thru Turo and let the owner know. The owner requested that we send him picture of drivers license directly to him. We refused (as it didn't seem right, given that Turo is the one that manages that aspect) and he backed off. * Of course, additional expense of Uber/Lyft after return drop-off as we weren't dropping it off at the airport as originally planned. So all in all we probably spent additional $50-60 in Uber/Lyft for getting to and from cars location instead of it being in the airport, and lost about 3+ hours for dealing with additional unplanned travel. The rest was okay. Car drove fine and didn't give any problems.
