Pros: "The flight was less than half full, first time in years I’ve had that experience. Everyone had space to be comfortable. Crew AND passengers were all polite and relaxed. Cheese and fruit tray was delicious. Free texting and entertainment for your own devices."

Would be nice to get a better estimate as to how long it would take to board so that I could hang out in the lounge. In addition, departure from JFK was delayed as well, either we missed the IFR window or got stuck behind some traffic and I fell asleep on the plane only to wake up what seemed an hour later just getting ready to hit V1. No upgrade."

Pros: "I didn't get a chance to get the gentleman's name at the gate, but he was able to get me on the earlier flight (since I had NO luggage and only 1 carry on that fit under my seat) and didn't charge me the stupid fee for filling a seat that was empty when I was giving up a seat on a later flight that would accommodate those who missed this earlier flight. Nice to see kindness in an industry that seizes fees on every opportunity."

Not anyone's fault but disappointing to have to do when I didn't plan on checking in and going to pick up at the baggage claim. This is what i wanted to avoid in the first place. could have at least offered to let us pick them up as we deplaned and not baggage claim!"

Did not offer any food coupons or any kind of compensation to anybody which created lot of inconvenience for travelers with young children..show some empathy Westjetters and operate like a professional carrier not like a curb side cab driver.."

Cons: "On an 8 hour flight there’s no complimentary meal. I paid for a meal and it was worse than free plane food and starved for the rest of the trip. The chairs were horribly uncomfortable with no lower back support and we were not even given pillows and blankets. There was also no free entertainment. I rented a tablet and had it taken away an hour before landing while I was in the middle of a movie. I might have been ok with that if the flight attendant had politely asked for it back rather than rudely waving and pointing while I stared at her blankly trying to figure out what she wanted. Next time I’ll pay a bit more for an airline that respects its passengers and our comfort."

Pros: "Before taking this flight, I was very nervous because of all the bad reviews on here and other sites. The only good reviews seemed to be by people from Alberta (not really trustworthy, as they seem to support anything that's from Alberta, and note that Westjet is based in Alberta...). But I was blown away by how organized Westjet was and how nice they were. All the flights were on time (I had a few layovers), the staff was helpful....I really have no complaints. Sure, they don't have a plethora of great in-flight entertainment such as movies, etc. But when I fly, I'd rather pay less, have the staff be nice/organized, and just bring a darn book to entertain me. It was a great first flight with this company. I would fly with them again....and I can't remember the last time I said that about any other airline. So do yourself a favor: Don't listen to the bad reviews on here (unless you're obsessed with in-flight entertainment and big-butt first class seats)."

No wifi on the aircraft nothing decent to eat on a flight scheduled during the dinner hour"

What's worse is each time we ended up spending about 20-30 min slowly driving around the runway since the takeoff queue was backed up so much. Maybe not the airlines fault for that but the pilot never said a word about it and kept us in the dark. Each flight was in total delayed by several hours. It seems more often than not these days that flights are delayed and are totally unreliable. I've come to hate flying."

Finally I decided on a counting game with his m &m's and that lasted for about half an hour. I know that West Jet had mo control over this situation."

Pros: "Not often do you feel like you really "welcomed aboard." This was not the case on our flights to and from Calgary. The staff was friendly and seemed to enjoy their jobs. That was refreshing. I did like the Westjet Connect feature. You don't have a TV screen in the back of each seat. You download the app and you get to watch TV, Movies, News all on your own device for free. A nice plus is that you can change all your devices with USB power port at each seats you never run out of a charge."
Cons: "The only thing that I did dislike was on the return we flew a 737-600 which did not leg room like the 737-800 we flew on first. The under seat storage is skimpy in the middle seat where an entertainment server is located"

I tried to wrap them as tight as possible. I am aware of the risks of carrying fragile things but I can't stop thinking that the label might had helped avoiding things getting break. Flight Attendance were not very friendly. They were not rude but defiantly not friendly"

Pros: "Aeromexico keeps impressing me! The professionalism is great. The timing and ease of boarding was perfect. And the leg room and on-board accommodations make it a comfortable journey. Definitely now among my list of favorite airlines!"

Cons: "The seats were old and uncomfortable. The plane was old and had the drop down video screens. This was terrible- we couldn’t see the one closest to us, only the one further away. But any words on the further one, we couldn’t read. The staff on the plane were rude and made us seem like we’re a bother and unwelcome. We were scared to ask for anything."

Cons: "The flight was delayed by 4 hours and it was never communicated to the passengers through the monitors. None of the flight info was updated on the monitors and we had no idea about: 1. which gate the flight was supposed to depart from 2. the correct time of the new departure since the flight was late 3. whether the flight was canceled all together The monitors showed the flight was on time until the actual time of departure. I almost missed my flight because I was never notified about the information above. The Aeromexico agents at the airport were not helpful at all: they did not know anything about the issue with the flight. I had to stay in a long line just to have them look up the flight in the computer and tell me that the flight was delayed. No other information was given to me. Terrible experience, especially after a long stopover."

Cons: "Once we got on the plane, the pilot mentions there is a delay due to the AC not functioning but they are fixing it. We took off and the AC apparently was never fixed because it was out for the whole flight. On top of that there was basically no entertainment on flight. Those two things are basic when flying."

Pros: "Transfer through Mexico city airport is a nightmare. You can clear immigration, get your luggage, clear customs, transfer terminal, check in your luggage, going through security, and finally get to your gate. All without any clear guidance from the airline or the airport. I will never fly through Mexico City again."

Pros: "Flight attendant was very fun. It was her birthday and made the day fun for everyone."
Cons: "Seats are always too close together - left to right and front to back. A sad reality that only improves for the well-to-do."

Cons: "I could not check in online nor selecting a seat in advance. Getting the boarding pass and the seat was a nightmare. British neither American could not help me out. Horrible experience"

Cons: "People all over the coach section were complaining about not being able to sit together. Families with babies, couples, even ours (though the kids are old enough for me not to be truly worried as some were). Somehow reservations seems to have messed up an entire flight. We gave up trying to fix it for fear they would make it worse. Then the woman at the gate tried to get folks to volunteer to give up their seats on an overbooked flight. But she was screaming at us. Unbelievably unpleasant to be yelled at over and over again and told we could lose our seats. The poor weather likely caused flights to be rerouted into PHL so our flight out to SFO ended up 1/3 empty. FABULOUS. But the gate experience was horrible and the legroom, had it been a full flight, was miserable. I'm in search of an airline with a humane approach."

They were also very rude when serving, one even gave me a super nasty look and mumbled something under her breathe because she ran into me. Just a terrible experience. They also didn't tell me baggage prices when I was there just swiped my card."

Cons: "Sitting on the runway for what seemed like hours. The initial boarding was confusing with multiple levels of priority boarding."

Cons: "As I mentioned in my last comment I was seated at the back of the plane on over four and a half hour flight by the time the food got to me they had ran out that I mention that I'm a diabetic with high blood pressure so I have to sit and suffer for over 3 hours will never ever fly American again"

Cons: "The plane was freezing and made me very uncomfortable! I asked the flight attendant for a blanket and she told me no. Even though I saw some in first class.... I would have purchased one. It was very hard for me to fall asleep because of how cold I was. Comfort is one of the main things I expect in a 4 plus hour flight."

Pros: "The crew was very nice and competent and obbiously embarrased by whoever in operations screwed this flight up good."
Cons: "Pleane departed two hours and thirty minutes after original schedule because of operational and equipment problems. Plane wasn't even in Philadelphia unti 6:00 pm. The guy at boarding (unlike the boarding in SFO) called way too many groupss individually, First Class, Diamond, Premium, Gold, Priority. This led to many people being refused boarding and told to wait. In SF they simply call first class and then all the rest or the Aadvantage members together before the land boarding. Much faster and more efficeint. Even though the flight was full there less than 12 people in the Diamond, Premium, whatever classes. And the guy taking the boarding passes was a jerk. He actuallly seemed to take pleasure in telling people they couldn't board. Might not ever fly AA again. At least never from Philadelfphia."

Cons: "This flight was 6 hours. It did not have frontal entertainment, which was not pleasant. They did not offer blankets. The plane was cold as I boarded the plane. I asked for a blanket and was advised they didn't have any. I was so cold the entire flight that I still have a cold due to the flight. I froze the entire flight. I stuffed my arms in my shirt and let my hair down for warmth. Also, I learned my lesson. Pack my own blankie for comfort. I checked my carry on in Aruba due to overhead capacities. My bag had my sweatshirt and the blankie Delta bankie I acquired when I flew from SFO to ATL."

Cons: "We were delayed by a mechanical then we waited another hour after that until they finally decided to take some people off because we were weight restricted. Then we waited another hour while they changed their minds and brought us back to the gate to get the people back. Then when we got into SFO at 1 am we had to wait because they had another plane parked at out gate."

Pros: "Service was outstanding, stewardess was funny, plane was very clean. I will switch from Southwest! Good job!"

Cons: "It was very delayed which I understand happens but then we arrived in San Francisco and were delayed on the runway because of the gate. I think at this point moving us to an open gate would have been nice - we had been delayed for so long - my 8 year old daughter was really having a hard time. Instead we had to sit and wait for 20 more minutes once we were on the ground. This seems avoidable to me."

Cons: "Having missed my scheduled flight, when I got on the later flight, we waited an hour on the tarmac to takeoff and 40 minutes on the tarmac in San Francisco for a gate. Pros: "Very helpful people. From the from desk to the in flight crew they answered my questions. Had a weird gate where it's a satellite gate with American Eagle, little confusing but they helped me out."
Cons: "Sat on the runway for like an hour. 100% not their fault, and they kept us in the loop the whole time. Really not a complaint about them. SFO is just always sucked in with fig in the morning."

Pros: "FINALLY American has up to date aircraft!!! Five years ago half the seatbacks and lighting on long distance flights didn't work. Swore I would never fly them again. They have redeemed themselves. nice aircraft"
Cons: "Inflight movie questionable. Couldn't figure out wifi entertainment options from inflight magazine ( over 60) and staff too busy to assist ( though didn't ask - just could see they had their hands full with beverage service). Would recommend video instructions after preflight safety video for tech unsavvy travelers. Also reminder on reservation to bring your own headsets and electronic devices."

Pros: "I LOVED the staff on this flight. Especially the man, I didn't catch his name but he was the friendliest flight attendant I have ever met. He had a warm smile the whole flight and helped me get an ice pack for my back when I was in pain. Every time he got something for someone he was smiling and happy which made me and my husband smile and happy. He should be recognized because he made our experience very enjoyable. I have never been on a flight where the service was constant, all of the flight attendants walked up and down the aisles throughout the flight making sure everyone was doing good. Typically, they go down the aisle with the service carts once and thats it, but they made sure everyone was taken care of for the whole flight. Thank you for the great flying experience after a long and tiring trip!! We were dreading the flight but the staff was great."
Cons: "Waiting in the Charlotte Airport for the flight to board was a bit irritating because the two girls that were supposed to call the sections for the flight were on their phones and not very present with what was going on. We boarded late and i am not sure if this is because the flight itself was late or they were just slow with the process.. The only thing I would complain about the flight itself is that we had to wait on our plane for about an hour after we landed. This, I know- has nothing to do with AA and the service/staff. I think this is something that SFO is responsible for, and I felt bad that people were taking it out on the crew."
