Cons: "Agent changed our flight to Munich and sent as a email with with confirmation on July 10. involuntary. On July 20. I checked Lufthansa app and found that only flight that was shown was flight Toronto-Thunder Bay. After 3 hours of phoning I found that flight from Munich to Toronto wasn’t available for date that was given us in email. Only option was day earlier or later. Left us to take day earlier and we could not changed last flight( Toronto- Thunder Bay). We had to come on Aug 22. and stay in Toronto for 27 hours and than take a flight to Thunder Bay on Aug 23. We lost a day of our vacation, had to stay at hotel. Not good experience at all. We still don’t know whom to complain about that."

Cons: "Our plane sat on turnac in Toronto waiting for a parking gate for 30minutes making us miss our connecting flight. Finally arrived but missed our train to Florence had to stay Saturday night in Rome while our villa in Lucca sat empty which was paid for"

Pros: "The crew was amazing and so welcoming! They did not flinch when they saw my three-year-old son and went out their way to make sure we had everything we needed. It was very nice to be greeted with such hospitality!"

Cons: "We did not request special meals because in the past there has always been an option without cheese. For both legs of the trip, everything had cheese. They tasted great, but left my husband eating only bread. At the first meal the crew just shrugged their shoulders. Second meal they brought him a snack from business class, but it had cream cheese on the sandwich. Drinks were only served during the meals on an 8 hour flight. When crew came back through at the first meal, they only had two bottles of wine in hand offering top offs (no cart, just physically carrying the bottles). We do not drink alcohol. During the second meal I did not even see them offering the top offs. All other airlines have at least come through a couple of times offering water or soda. Announcements were only audible half the time. Customs forms were confusing for people passing through Canada. This might have been explained over the intercom, but again, it was hard to hear."

It was a large selection of movies with very explicit sexual content. I didn't travel with kids but I was thinking what I would've done if my kids were seated next to a person like I did who was watching this kind of movies.."

Cons: "We had two legs on Lufthansa and the third was Air Canada. Lufthansa was great; great service, great food. But on Air Canada there was no food on a 5-hr international flight, the video screen didn't work well, and the flight attendant was having a rough day. And we took off at least 30 minutes late due to a couple of technical issues."

Pros: "The flight attendants were very polite and helpful. The seats had those "wings" on either side of the head rest to help keep your head from bobbing back and forth. There were a few good movies to watch that were current, but a lot of old movies that we had zero interest in."
Cons: "The flight was considered a Lufthansa flight and had a Lufthansa flight number, but was operated by Air Canada. We could not check in online ahead of time for some reason. When we got to the airport, we tried to check in at the Lufthansa kiosk and check in line, but they told us we had to go to the Air Canada area. The ticketing/check in process was very confusing. As for the food, the chicken "wrap" was not a wrap, and was a weird Hot-Pocket type meal. After each meal, we ended up having to hold our garbage for quite some time which made manuvering in and out of seats a little tricky. I wish the seat cushion had a little more cushion since we were sitting for so long. Also at some point the overhead lights came on and stayed on, which was annoying if you were trying to nap."

At no point in the booking process, when I paid over $800 for the trip, was I told that I needed a specific travel visa (Canadian ETA) to fly back into Toronto for my return flight. Subsequently when I checked in for my flight yesterday morning in Manchester, England, I did not have the required travel documents and had to be rerouted onto a flight into the U.S. at a cost to me of $350. The rerouted flight got me to Washington Dulles airport, where I then had to purchase a second flight to get me home to Cleveland, Ohio, at an additional/extra cost of $450. MY CAR IS PARKED AT TORONTO PEARSON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT!!! I am having to now rent a car and drive there tomorrow (Friday) to collect my car, at another additional cost of $100 plus a 10-hour round trip. Due to the lack of information and communication on your companies behalf, I am down close to a $1,000 and will lose 2-days in work as of the additional days I am having to travel back to Toronto to collect my vehicle. I would appreciate contact from your organization to find the avenue I need to take for compensation of my time and finances. Regards"

Cons: "This airline has little respect for its customers. In the economy/coach cabin, they squeeze the seat distances to such an extent that, when the person in front of you leans their chair back, you cannot get out of your seat at an upright angle. You have to significantly bend your body. To not loose your balance, you have to grab on to the seat in front of you and that disturbs the other passenger. If they're sleeping, they can be woken up by that. Lufthansa does not care much for its passengers. Nor do many other companies, for that matter, but I think Lufthansa is taking things further than most airlines. It is a disgrace. Their brand is not what it once was."

Cons: "The flight was delayed for 2.5 hours, for a reason they never made clear after they let the passengers wait in line for 45 minutes to board. Once aboard, the Lufthansa planes were much much less comfortable than the Air Canada plane I took to Frankfurt. There is very little space and the seats are crammed together. The food they served was very bad, especially again in comparison with Air Canada. Once we arrived in Toronto, they made us wait nearly an hour before exiting the aircraft. It would seem that the Toronto airport would have to know we were coming and should have prepared accordingly, but apparently not. We sat, several passengers missed their connecting flights and were angry. I nearly missed my flight, having to run and race through customs (who are in no hurry)."

Despite that, the luggage would not come, and the claims office was ridiculous (despite of the destination being within 1 hour of drive from the airport, it took us 24 hours of our short vacation trip to deal with luggage). It seems that LH has these problems regularly, and they don't seem to care; I guess we'll have to try someone else to avoid suffering the same problem every time. The employees already knew the luggages are in a mess, and so were the claims. When taking LH, we have to accommodate luggage delay into our planning."

Pros: "In general, I like the on board food of Austrian and especially in regard of Do&Co catering from Vienna Airport. Staff was not to trying this time but service was still okay."
Cons: "The Senator Lounge at Vienna Airport is very poor, food selection is very limited and it is obvious that the focus is on cost saving. Another disadvantage is that the lounge only opens at 5.30am in the morning but first flight already leave Vienna around 6am. Mine was at 7.05am which meant that I just arrived when the lounge opened and I had to wait in a long cue. Boarding was due to the limited space in front of the gate a mess, priority boarding was announced but I was not made sure that priority passengers board first. The seats on board are for business to small and there is not even space to hag up the coat."

Pros: "So I had to fly to Munich, and rather than flying direct on terrible United, I took a connecting flight via Vienna. Flight was full yet still departed on time and even arrived early. The seat was comfortable and flight went very smoothly. Food served on board was perfectly edible. Disembarking also went without problems. The flight staff even accommodated the requests of a particularly nasty Russian family seated behind me even though they were total jerks. I was very impressed with their professionalism."

Cons: "It took us 2 tries to get there due to weather and they had us waiting in the airport for 12 hours in the middle of the night. We first flew to Lviv and then they turned the plane around and came back as we were landing. I appreciate that they did this for safety reasons. When we got back however at 2:30am, they did not provide us with a hotel and just gave us blankets and pillows to sleep in the airport. They also offered us only a piece of bread with ham and cheese and a coffee for the next 12 hours until the new flight left. Not a pleasant experience."

When we landed, we were stuck on the plane for an extra half hour (after a 10 hour flight) because customs couldn't take us. I will never fly through Toronto again. This was my second experience with Air Canada there (and the first time my luggage was lost on the way to Brussels) and it is a complete disaster. Customs was the most complicated least organized process I had ever been through. There were 3 different spots to go through, I showed my passport and boarding pass a million times, stations were understaffed and the staff was unhappy, grumpy and snapping at airline guests. Additionally there was no free entertainment on the 10 hour flight."

When food service came aroind, people had there seats back amd instead of addressing everyone to politely put their seats in the upright position, she specifically told her (in a very harsh tone) to put her seat up for consideration of the person behind her. The customer said she couldn't because the person in front of her had her seat reclined as well, which left her with very limited space to eat. The flight attendant continued to say she needed to pit her seat upright or take a seat in the back of plane. I was in shock by the flight attendants' unprofessionalism. Cons: "The boarding was a serious problem as there were no well defined waiting areas for over 400 people to board, blocking the way for other people to walk around the gates. The Toronto airport decided to board two flights to Frankfurt by two different airlines directly next to each other at about the same time, leading to lots of confusion. My frustration was increased by the fact that the airline managed to forget my luggage at transfer, while my travel companions was "just" delayed. during flight while the service was good, the quality of food was very low. The frustration was even further increased , the through the delay of the plane and the luggage problems our rental car reservation was expired as they only hold cars for 1 hour after scheduled reservation. The later not the fault of the airline, but i will certainly consider other airlines and rental car companies in my future Travel consideration unless the return trip experience changes my mind."

Cons: "My flight to Montreal never happened. After the delay in Cleveland, I got contradictory information about wether my connection was late or on time. I ran and got to the gate for the montreal flight while they were doing their last call. At first they told me I was going to be able to get on the flight, then they said I was not on the flight, and they turned me down ... I found out later that while flying to Toronto, Air Canada had changed my flight because they estimated I was not going to make my connection!!! I had to wait in line for 2 hours to get rebooked, and after waiting, the person who was rebooking my flight decided to take on another person and made me wait even longer. I was sent to Frankfurt instead of Montreal!"

Pros: "Boarding was quick and easy. I pretty much slept the whole way, so I can't tell you much about the crew or anything else."
Cons: "The movies and shows were great, but the machine was super slow. I also had to hold my headphones only halfway into the jack or else it would not work properly. It also was surprising to hear that headphones and blankets were extra. The plane was pretty cold, and paying for these extra fees for a family of 3 (or more for others) really adds up! Our family had two check-in bags, and rather than being charged $25 each, we were charged $25+$35 even though the bags were in two different family member names."

Also, there is no free in-flight entertainment if you don't have your own tablet/smartphone (neither of which I have). You can rent i-pads. I wish I had known that before flying."

The design of the bathrooms, however, was problematic. The sink water faucets splashed water outside the sink and by the end of the flight there were huge puddles of water on the floor. It was also difficult for the flight attendants to navigate their beverage and meal carts around the people waiting in line for the bathrooms."

According to the information I received from the attendants at the gate, maintenance knew the airplane had issues but no communication until the flight began to get delayed was given. I had an adequate layover (3+ hours) so I didn't worry until it eroded away to the point where I could not make my connection."

Cons: "The flight attendant told me that I did not need to collect my bag in Toronto and that it would automatically be sent onward to Halifax. DO NOT BELIEVE THIS. All United passengers arriving in Canada MUST manually gather their luggage at baggage claim in Toronto and clear customs manually. ONLY Air Canada has this automatic option. Even if the United flight has an Air Canada code share United passengers MUST clear customs manually. How hard is this for flight attendants to understand?"
