Prepare for at least one layover, possibly in a major Canadian city like Toronto (YYZ) or Montreal (YUL).

If you're flying with Air Canada, which operates routes with connections for this journey, it's essential to make the most of the in-flight services offered. Request any special dietary meals in advance to accommodate your needs during the transatlantic leg and subsequent domestic flight. Comfort is paramount, so utilize the blankets and pillows provided to help with the time zone changes and to get some rest.
  • When facing a layover in major Canadian airports like Toronto Pearson or Vancouver International, make the most of the amenities and accommodations available. These airports offer free Wi-Fi, a variety of dining options, and duty-free shopping to enhance your waiting time. For overnight layovers, consider the conveniently located hotels, often within or very close to the airport. Don't forget to check out the lounges, which provide a relaxed environment with food and drinks, accessible via memberships or a one-time fee.
  • The transatlantic flight to Nova Scotia is lengthy, so consider the benefits of different travel classes. Premium economy or business class can provide more comfort and amenities. Watch for upgrade offers after booking on KAYAK, which can be more affordable than the initial price difference.

Good value, minor delay due to waiting for inbound plane but they gave accurate information about wait time. Able to switch to a seat by my husband thanks to a kind flight attendant

Good value, minor delay due to waiting for inbound plane but they gave accurate information about wait time. Able to switch to a seat by my husband thanks to a kind flight attendant

7 hour layover was a drag. Free internet on the long leg was great.

They cancelled and moved my flight with no email or text or any other notice. I discovered this only when I attempted to check in for my flight. Actual flying experience was above average.

They were on time and everything went as expected. The only thing that could be better was they didn't wait for us to get through customs to pick up our luggage off the carousel. An employee picked it up and was shoving it together with others onto a cart. Later we found one of our luggage was slightly bent.

From vancouver go calgary nd vice vetsa fligjt was delayed

Delayed boarding. Delayed taking off. Delayed landing. Missed our connecting flight. Our seats on this plane were not assigned until last minute, splitting up our family with kids. I sat in the last row next to the bathroom with so many people rubbing up against me to get to the bathroom the entire flight.

It was good! Short flight and it was on time!

Another delayed flight. Then got bumped to a later connecting flight, over two hours later! Plane was hot and uncomfortable.

Asked to cancel flight 6 days in advance of flight back to St. Louis, MO. Would not allow. No credit either.

My flight was delayed three times then eventually cancelled the next flight was the following day scheduled for 1030 it was delayed I had to cancel reservations I had to put people up in hotels on the other end as they came out of town to pick me up all at my expense because WestJet couldn’t get it together I’m very disappointed in WestJet’s performance and how they handled the situation Get your customers to where they need to be in a timely fashion, even if that means putting them on your competitors jets Customer service should be number one I will think twice now with booking with WestJet

On-time boarding, departure, and flight. Electronic notifications about bags for the whole of their own journey too - from when they got accepted into the system through to being loaded onto the plane and then finally being disgorged onto the right carousel. That was an excellent feature.

The 787 Dreamliner that we flew on was relatively new and a nice aircraft. We flew on a 777 which was noticeably older and the seats were average” but the 787 was very nice, especially for the price. No window blinds anymore, instead high tech adjustable polychromatic glass!! Nice.

Everything was fine, crew was great. Always appreciate an on-time flight.

an absolute disaster and nightmare on air condition. IT WAS FREEZING!! everyone around us had hats, hoodies, gloves outdoor jackets on. that segment of the aircraft had a fault I assume...no amount of suggestion to turn down the air con helped. otherwise all good.

Everything was very good, short delay Toronto to Regina on my return to Canada but not a big deal. Thanks Kayak, Dr. Ian Stewart

Boarded smoothly, took off on time. Entertainment screens were reliable and the movie library is abundant. Food better than wtst was served on the first leg of the journey by another airline.

Check in was incredibly fast, fukuoka was comfortable and crew very pleasant. The only negative was that the boarding was somewhat chaotic, but it so often is these days as airlines tend to board by how much you pay and not by what an orderly process of filling the plane would be.

Old, noisy plane, bad coffee, delayed. Flight attendant was very nice.

It was ok. Even after the airport bus took us to the terminal , we did not expect to walk 35 mins inside the airport to the gate . A 15 min walk is ok . Especially if there was any delay in TSA check which happens to is too then people can easily miss the flight.

Excellent bit seats are still a little too small and there's that $75 baggage charge.

Poor food on flight between Toronto and Stockholm Airport Toronto too crowded

The plane was late (as was my flight out from Birmingham the day before)

Business Class Configuration was excellent- private and comfortable. Crew and service were excellent. I really appreciate Air Canada cabin pressurization equal to an altitude of 8,000ft. Upon landing, I felt more alert and refreshed than typical for international flights

Hard to use tables and TV screens interfere with the enjoyment of flight experience. Other than that it was a smooth and comfortable ride and we were well taken care of.

Excellent flight overall. Lufthansa Business service was excellent with great cabin crew and very good food and wines. The seat comfort was excellent. Only a slight reduction in score due to the 747-400 being a relatively loud aircraft these days.

The flight was delayed by an hour. Made the connection uncomfortably tight.

When we went to the lounge they told us to go into the main lounge and not the full business class section, later they told me that Lufthansa wont pay the full fee to alloq the business class passengers entry to the nicer sectikn where all the other airlines nusiness class passengers go into. Very poor arrangement.

Not what I expected for the last leg of a $5100 business class experience. Boarding was a nightmare. The flight was delayed and I had to keep checking my email to ensure I was at the right gate since the airline or the terminal had no clue until 15 mins prior to boarding. Food was gross, limited drink options.

Flights scheduled with impossible connections - Lufthansa apparently believes it takes 7mins to change terminals, go through passport control, re-clear security and walk 1.8kms…..and everything will work perfectly (which it never does at Frankfurt). No staff on hand to assist with transfers on delayed flights. No transfer guidance provided by app. No compensation offered for 6hr delay to connecting flight.

The flight was ok, the flight attendants were lovely, the movies were good, the food was ok, and I am just sad because my luggage didn't arrive with me in Iasi because the flight from Vancouver to Frankfurt was delayed and then I barely made the rest of my flights. Also, there was no real support once I got off each of the flights. There was nobody to ask about gate or where to be and for example when I got off in Vienna to catch the flight to Iasi there was no screen where I could read the gate and time of departure of the plane. I was going crazy trying to find the plane to Iasi and I barely made it. When my luggage finally arrived home it was broken. The handle was completely broken and that was not so good. I am in a visit here, in Romania, and I will have to buy a new luggage.
