I expected a better flight. The food was very poor. The aircraft was too warm
I liked absolutely nothing about this. The worst airline I have ever dealt with. We missed our flight. As we were boarding the flight (we arrived well in advance) the flight attendant demanded a negative covid test. We were asked for vaccine cards at checkin, never a negative covid test. They asked us to rebook the flight, thus we missed our flight, had to book a hotel, all of our luggage was going straight to Miami so we have no change of clothes. An absolute nightmare. Next, I stood in line for OVER 2 hours to get on the next flight. They gave no apology or explanation as to the 2 hr wait, nor why we weren’t informed of the negative COVID test in advance. They then recommended a covid testing center in the airport that charged 169 euro a person. I refused and found another less expensive yet approved center. I will NEVER use this airline again, I will never recommend it and I will never come back to Germany. The entire Frankfort airport staff was wretched. Awful experience.

Customers waited over 30 minutes for bags to arrive, which arrived at a different belt than what had been originally scheduled. There were no AA staff in sight when we arrived in NY either. I will do my best not to fly AA again."

I will never fly American Airlines again!"

Pros: "When I saw that our BA flight would be operated by AA, I was concerned, given previous poor experiences with American airlines. However, in this case, AA was pretty good, especially the check-in staff at Rome Airport who were excellent. The check-in, boarding and de-boarding processes all went well. Plane was relatively modern, with USB charging ports for phones. Movie selection was good, though the TV selection could be expanded. The food was ok. Seating not bad. All of our luggage, including a child's carseat, was delivered on time and intact. Pleasantly surprised."

I would think at a major airport like DFW where American Airlines has a hub, they would make sure to staff that longer. Just getting to keep my shoes on, while having to drag all my electronics and liquids out, take my coat and belt off, etc. is not acceptable. AA should put the pressure on DFW to treat their customers better!"

Cons: "Many groups were not seated together. at the airport I asked if my husband and I could be put together . One worker seemed interested in helping, but another rudely butted in and said there "were no seats together, the flight was full." Come to find out the flight was not full, there were whole rows not full. The groups near our seats rearranged ourselves so we could be by our family members, so it worked out. No thanks to the person at the terminal. Really long walk from the gate to the plane. No food on a cross country flight. Only a few cups of water/soda and a cookie. which unfortunately is typical now days. The lights were off the whole trip. The captain kept turning on the seat belt sign for the turbulence. Which there was a lot of. But then he would announce for everyone to go back to their seats. It wasn't huge bumps, just a little rough. and it woke everyone up by announcing it multiple times."

No point in booking through a 3rd party for that type of hassle."

Cons: "TAP was late getting the first flight out, offered almost no help and almost left 22 people stranded in Portugal and tried to get us to pay for a new flight at our own expense. Customer service was terrible. Multiple people in line said they had been stranded in Portugal by TAP airlines before."
Pros: "Very efficient and competent crew. Very much like the A330 plane."
Cons: "On our flight from Lisbon to Paris Orly the baggage took two hours become it was delivered. We were later told the baggage crew forgot some of the bags."

Cons: "The flight was cancelled few hours before departure. I called the customer service and they a flight to Tel Aviv a day after with 3 stops. It was imposible to accept, so I've cancelled and bouhgt another ticket from other airline and ask for refund. Three months later I still waiting for the money. Not recommend at all TAP."

Got a ticket with seats “free of charge” on the printed e-ticket, but had to pay for them at checkin. It seems to be a scam... There would be more, but i lost my patience with TAP."

Cons: "1) I tried several times while traveling but was unable to figure out how to choose a vegetarian option for the flight. When I called customer service, after a long hold time, the woman I finally spoke to told me it was too late to order vegetarian and refused to help me. I have never flown another airline (Air India, Turkish Air, United, American, China Southern, etc., etc.) that did not make this easy to choose during booking or check-in and that did not already have a standard ovo-lacto vegetarian option on the regular menu. Vegetarians practice for all sorts of reasons, including religion and health needs. It's unacceptable to make it so difficult to meet your meal needs while trapped on a plane for nine hours. 2) The check-in agent did not know the rule about all remaining seats being opened for passenger choice three hours before booking and insisted we had to pay to get aisle seats despite one of us having a health problem necessitating her standing up and walking every 45 minutes. Then another agent told us we couldn't choose seats for free for our Porto to Newark flight when we check in for our Madrid-Porto flight because it wasn't technically three hours before the Porto-Newark departure. But how were we supposed to choose seats for the Porto-Newark flight three hours in advance if we are in an airplane flying to Porto at that time? This makes no sense. Seats should be opened for every leg of a same-day journey at the same time. The agents were unhelpful and unsympathetic. 3) This was an old plane without options to choose a film or show to watch. Instead, passengers could flip through a few channels and hope to find something of interest that was already playing -- there was no way to begin a film or show from the beginning if you landed on it in the middle of its running time. I cannot recommend TAP Portugal to any of my friends, family, or colleagues after this experience."
Cons: "40euro checked bag fee on an international itinerary was an unpleasant surprise. They were quite disorganized; our airport-printed boarding passes wouldn't scan at the gate, they didn't have a jet-way ready upon arrival in Lisbon ..."
Pros: "Our flight was late, so we missed our connecting flight to Barcelona, but TAP had already rebooked us on a different flight and had boarding passes all printed out. Good Job."

Cons: "When we checked our bags the check in agent did not let us take out bags after getting the boarding pass so we could get the D Tax refund at Customs. She said it was not necessary. She was wrong. French customs wanted to see the merchandise which we no longer had. When we complained at TAP we were told do it in Lisbon. Again in Lisbon we could not get the D tax because that custom agent wanted to see the merchandise which was being transferred to our Lisbon - Newark flight. We loss refunds of over $400. This problem ruined a perfect trip."

Cons: "Overbooked the flight by 20 people and split up our group of 4 traveling together. They gave 3 of us tickets and then told my dad who is the least experience traveler that he doesn't have a seat because he didn't check in online even though we were at the airport 2 hours ahead to check in. Paying $1000 for a ticket and then being told you don't have a seat is absolutely unprofessional and rediculous. We were traveling home from europe and had 2 other connections we had to make. After 3 hours they were able to transfer us all to another flight back to the states and then lost my dad's luggage. Horrible experience! Will not travel TAP again!"

After 4 hours of delay because the Pope was traveling to the same place we were and having to hand out all new boarding passes to confused and anxious passengers, the crew were always friendly and helpful."

Pros: "Love how tap took care of us when hurricane Mathew was passing. We were sent to a nice hotel in Fatima (city in Portugal). The company paid for our lunch dinner and breakfast. Unbelievable customer service."
