My flight from Lima to La has been delay for 2 hours l has to run because l had a conecction from La to Phoenix of course the airport was a mess because it was under construcción. My coneccion was delay again for 45 minutes! Well l made it l guess! The landing was horrible!!

Cons: "Terrible airline and airport system... the boarding system is a disaster... after waiting in line for so long they send you to different counters to pay for bags... on top of that they didn’t check in one of the 6 in my group by the attendant’s mistake and they closed the flight in us...there is a bussing system that “takes you to the plane” and when we finally made it to our gate the bus made their last of the 2 trips to the plane. So we lost our flight to Cusco and ruined our entire first day of touring in Cusco..... your system or multiple check in/ cashier/customer service counters is a disaster and it makes zero sense. I will NOT fly latam again."

Pros: "It was on time and boarding was efficient. I’ve never been on a flight where they board window seats first, then middle, then aisle. I can see how that makes a lot of sense and makes the process better."

Others had their rolling pieces brought onto the plane and there was enough room, so I was a little worried about if someone was going through it or if it would make it to the destination. It did show up."

Sent us on a different flight. - Return flight from Cusco Bumped (+4 hrs late), promised voucher and upgrade due to all the previous issues. - Return flight out bound from Lima. Would no recognized any of the promises nor the inconveniences of the other flights and the promises. (In Lima all was denied by the land people but they kept on sending us from one person to another for over 3 hours until the final minute when all passengers where on board they said they could not do anything). Family was separated once again."

Our friends went back home on another LATAM flight from Buenos Aires that was delayed. They were flown for 2 days around South America before making to LAX."

Cons: "I needed to change my flight because of a death in the family. To change my flight was more expensive than the initial ticket itself. That is ridiculous. You should not do that to people. There should be a $300 change fee and that's it. At most. The entertainment would be good if I could hear it - but I couldn't. The sound was terrible. Uncomfortable seats. Barely slept. Overal terrible experience. Also turn on the damn entertainment while we are waiting on the tarmac - why wait until we are in the air? Almost every other airline - all the good ones - Emirates, Lufthansa, and other quality airlines - will let you access the in flight entertainment as soon as you sit. But the change cost of the ticket was the most offensive thing. I feel robbed, in a time of tragedy."

Now they charge you for everything you eat, before they gave you a little snack. Also, there's traffic on both airports so that's something unpleasant too."

It helped a lot with the carry on baggage issue (lack of space, too many people wanting to put their too large bags in the overhead bins). Good entertainment selection, they provide headphones which is nice. Comfy blankets. The crew was attentive and patient."

Due to the late hour and lack of customer service agents by the time I was able to get to the front of the line (phone calls didn't go through to anyone) the time had passed for me to even check in. According to Latam, Virgin changed my flight and forgot to rebook my return home. I ended up sleeping at the Lima airport, paying out of pocket almost $2000 and having to fly through Miami. No one took responsibility for the fact my ticket was changed and I wasn't informed - unacceptable."
Cons: "When my husband and I arrived to Lima airport 2,5 hours before our scheduled flight, we could not check in because flight was overbooked? There was a seat for one of us (we overheard same conversation at counter next to our - 2 passengers, one available seat)... Explanation was they had technical problems with original plane and they had to replace it with smaller one and everybody else used online checkin in last 48 hours...Everybody else used online checkin?! Is that the rule? Last 48 h of my trip in Peru i did not have internet access, but if it's the only way to get your seat, you paid for months in advance, then I would find some solution. At the end, staying persistent in our request,we were on the scheduled flight (some "miracle" happened and we got 2 seats, next to each other, as same as couple from counter next to us)"
Cons: "I flew home on the LATAM600 Lima to LAX. My flight was suppose to leave noon on May 25. Unfortunately we were delayed until noon the following day, May 26. I understand these matters are out of attendant's control, but the changes were not communicated in English and everyone was extremely slow to get us situated. Our flight was officially canceled at 5:30 pm, and it took five more hours for the attendants to get us to a hotel. In the morning, the transportation was not communicated well that I missed the bus. During all this, they never tried to re-book anyone either. I would pass on flying LATAM in the future."

I have traveled extensively for almost 20 years and have NEVER dealt with such a terrible company with such shady employees. It was unbelievable and we aren't the only ones. Just take a peek at their social media accounts. They don't allow reviews anymore but there is a community of people who have been stranded in South America by LATAM and the link is easily found. They seem to have a ploy to try and get people to buy extra tickets. Seriously a scam. Stay away!"

Cons: "When I arrived to Jorge Chavez the ticket counter was down. I waited for 20 minutes and Brunella eventually gave me a boarding pass. The pass was hand written and missing information but she assured me it would be fine. When I attempted to go through security they informed me this wasn't a boarding pass and was missing information. They said I would have to go back downstairs to the desk again. have a visible disability that affects the way I walk, and typically I do not require a wheelchair. I give myself enough time to get to my destination, but thanks to Brunella I was running incredibly late. I finally arrived though my flight was then rerouted to Orlando due to weather conditions at Miami and never arrived in Miami. The pilot of this flight LA2514 decided he was done and wouldn't fly there at all. The passengers were informed they would take buses to Miami."

They didn't apologized and asked traveler to clean the table instead. Miss connection with the flight from Miami to New York and no help from LATAM personnel at all. This is an airline that at one point it was the best and now is the worst. It is important to clarify with passenger about passing inmigration and aduana and the distance from international to national departures!!"
Pros: "Despite having a high "Sapphire" status with this One World Partner and being promised "preferente" seats by the airline when I reserved seats months ago, I was unable to view the seats or check in online. Both their App and their online system were down and unavailable. We were never able to view our actual seats online. The "preferred seats" my group on 5 could not have been worse!! We were seated consistently in row 11 or the very last row of the aircraft immediately in front of the lavatory, where the seats do not recline at all and where you hear and smell the bathroom for the entire flight.. There was NO space to breathe in our seats. I have traveled on dozens of airlines and this experience and these seats were the WORST! After this happened once, I specifically asked to insure that it would not happen again and was told that seats on my next flights were good but they were the same horrible seats. Part of our itinerary was on LAN and part was on TAM, who have now combined into 1 airline, but still operate on separate systems. So LAN customer service could not see the seats for TAM flights and vice versa. Their online system reflected a changed time for our return flight from 145pm to 250pm from Rio. We verified it 3 times (even though we could not check in or view our seats because of "technical difficulties" we could see the new departure tie, and the change was confirmed by our Sheraton concierge, but when we arrived to the airport they informed us that we had arrived to late for our 145pm flight! We showed them the app that showed our flight was changed to 250pm and they could not explain the problem. We were delayed 4 hours and arrived too late for dinner in Santiago. The final 4 hour flight at 4am flight from Santiago to Lima was torture. The seat in front was literally 6 inches in front of my face when they reclined and I could not recline. It was absolute TORTURE! Avoid this airline! To add the agony, they have lost my bag and do not know where it is!"

Nearly impossible credit card payment system would not accept American credit cards"
Pros: "Flight schedule, inflight service and food in couch was amazingly the best I had in a long time. The entertainment was delightful. The telephone service for questions, while in Peru, was terrible. My flight reservation number was changed and I needed to talk to someone. I had to call the States help line instead of the local number which had a non working automated answering menu."

Cons: "HORRIBLE pre flight, and in airport staff. Incompetent, zero clue as to handle a delayed flight forced every passenger to hand over passports into communal plastic bags and took them for 2 hours somewhere in the airport unknown to us. I should never have to give up my passport into plastic bags/strangers EVER. They lost my customs paper, and then proceeded to accuse me of "selling it"--They took it after I passed through customs initially and if they put it back in passport after they threw them all in plastic bags- god knows where it is, or who's hands it was in who may have took it. They would not give us food vouchers, or water. They couldn't figure out how to get buses and hotel rooms for people- basic simple business skills-- add number of passengers going to hotel, calculate number of seats per bus and that will get you the number of buses needed--- they couldn't figure that out. I will call and give more detail, I promise."

I was in Nazca, so could have easily boarded in Lima instead, but the airline forced me to make the 14 hour trip back to Cusco instead, just so I could fly BACK to Lima on their plane, otherwise they would have cancelled my whole reservation. I will never fly with LATAM again."

This was a customer service fail. American is no better. They rescheduled the flight at no cost, but then sent you back to LATAM for help with the overnight. If we buy tickets from your website and you own the process, you should be more helpful when there are problems. The back-and-forth was frustrating. Lima airport takes a long time to go through all the checkpoints. Two hours does not give enough time. There are at least four long lines that have to be endured. This process could use some streamlining."

Either the plane was on the way or it was turning back, or it had landed or was perpetually 20 mins from landing. At one point, they did slip and admit that they actually had no way of actually tracking the plane, so everything they told us had been wild guesses about what had actually been happening! When some passengers asked to speak with a manager, we were told that the manager was not accepting calls at that time. After hours and hour and hours of delays and lies, they finally found a plane, but we still had to wait an hour for a crew as the original crew was now over their time limit. Once we were airborne, the flight was smooth and the newly cobbled together crew was nice. Zero mention or promise of reparations for the massive delay. AGAIN, DO NOT FLY AVIANCA IF YOU HAVE ANYWHERE YOU ACTUALLY WANT TO GO!"

When my first flight was late, I missed my connection and had to buy a new ticket, as the airline couldn’t or wouldn’t change my itinerary. As I was in a foreign country without a phone or computer and with very limited time to fix the problem, I just had to buy a new ticket."
Pros: "On time. Was able to sleep through much of what was likely an annoying flight because there was no personal entertainment--the tiny screens overhead would have been impossible to see and they were showing a movie that was lame. It seemed anachronistic."
Cons: "At the Lima gate they made each passenger open their carryon and submit to a secondary inspection to confiscate all water we bought past security. No warning was given about this. I had paid airport prices for water to bring onto the plane and then had to surrender it at the gate. Of course in economy class they will not give you water or attention until you are at cruising altitude. More than one flight attendant did not smile and one was actually rude in spite of my attempts to be kind and smile. Except for one friendly person at check-in kiosk, bad service overall. They do not have personal entertainment systems, and it was like going back in time with the tiny screens you cannot see, playing a movie you either watch it or not."

Avianca overcharged me 898 on top of what I Paid Luggage came destroyed and with missing thing at the final destination, nobody take care of that yet. even I made the compliant on write."

On the previous flight Lima-> Cusco, they bumped us off our flight even with confirmed tickets, said the "flight was full" (obviously oversold) and said we'd get a $50 voucher and asked me to write my email on a piece of scrap paper, no receipt."

Cons: "This flight was operated by Avianca, the flight was delayed 2 hours at the beginning, they said they will give as a voucher for food while we wait, when I went to the counter they said they don't give anything for a 2 hours delay. Then the flight was delayed a 1/2 hour extra, it was not even announced and we ended up boarding at 12:15am from a flight that was supposed to leave at 9:35pm, then the plane was waiting for 1/2 hour before we went abroad and I ended up arriving at 2am to my destination when I was supposed to arrive at 10:45pm, this was the worst fight experience and we didn't even got an apology for the inconvenience."

Cons: "Our 10:40AM flight got cancelled. We had to wait in line until 1AM with regular check-ins to rebook for 8:40AM. When we made it to the airport again after limited sleep, that flight also got cancelled. We bought a ticket with LATAM which was a breeze. Throughout the following week, we tried calling them numerous times to have them tell us we had to loose yet more time by having to go to their Cusco office... but they couldn't resolve the issue either. We had to escalate this over the phone from their office so they would issue us a flight back to Lima at no charge to us. Now, I can only hope that they will honor this ticket but I'm not expecting much."
Pros: "Solo que a la 1:10pm le comunique al sobrecargo del vuelo Avianca #928 Lima _ salvador 1010 1: 20 pm hora local me di cuenta que se quedo el anillo de matrimonio en el paso de migración en la bandeja, el sobrecargo me di una instrucción que debía hablar con el encargado del Salvador la Srta Geaninia Gomez indica que como no es pérdida dentro del avión no se hacen responsables, lo que no estoy de acuerdo que me digan eso ya que es trayecto del vuelo que estaba realizando voy a tomar medidas para presentar un reclamo ya que es un valor sentimental ya que ni me dejaron ir a ver estando casi 40 minutos y sentí que no me ayudaron por los menos con una llamada en el departamento."

Flight was cancelled mid-air, so we were returned from the air above Cusco to the Lima airport where there were no other flights departing that evening and no compensation for the inconvencience (no hostel voucher, no upgraded tickets on our next flight, etc). Many people ended up missing their long-planned trip to Machu Picchu as the earliest Avianca could get anyone to Cusco was 11:00 the following morning. The staff was unhelpful, and the lines were incredibly long (about 3 hours). Funnily enough, we were supposed to be on an earlier flight, but due to the length of their check in line, we waited over a half hour in line and when we arrived at the desk 56 minutes before our flight, we were unable to check in (since check in stops an hour before the flight). Truly ridiculous. I will definitely think twice before ever booking an Avianca flight in the future."

Cons: "I STRONGLY dislike how the airline acts as if they are the immigration and they demanded that I buy a very expensive plane ticket to show that I would be leaving Argentina within 3 months. There are so many expats in Buenos Aires and they all buy tickets in Argentina to go to Uruguay within 3 months. Upon showing the immigration of Argentina my USA passport at the entry, they have NEVER asked me for any kind of proof that I would be leaving within 3 months. At first I started to purchase a ticket to Uruguay by boat and the attendant even asked me the website of the boat because she told me that these problems come up all the time for expats going to Argentina for longer than 3 months. You are ONLY AN AIRLINE. YOU ARE NOT THE IMMIGRATION OF ARGENTINA. Having this said, I never plan to fly Avianca again."

Lo que fue horrible, el olor, los pasajeros haciendo fila al lado de mi asiento todo el tiempo, sin poder descansar o estar tranquila. Comprendo que pueden haber descompuestos en el avión y cambiarlo por otro pero al menos al re asignar asientos deberían ver los lugares iniciales que tenía cada uno y no dejar a quienes habían solicitado con anticipación los primeros en el último, literalmente en los últimos puestos. Once in the air it took forever to get water, just pretzels for snacks and a horrible attitude by the staff. DO NOT DLY WITH THEM."

AS A RESULT when we got to Calgary we had to wait at the over size luggage racks for our carry ons to be delivered instead of them being set up for us as we left the aircraft which is normal!! Very frustrating!!"

Cons: "I paid for 30 minutes of WiFi to download the United app on my iPad. I wanted to watch the movies/tv shows that were available to passengers. The WiFi was spotty and slow so I wasn’t able to load the app. Needless to say I was disappointed. I also was disappointed with the seating. I am an average size person and I felt very cramped in my seat. My shoulders and neck are killing me after a 2 hour flight. I know that I chose the economy seating but I don’t remember the seats being quite so narrow or the leg room being non existent."

Cons: "3 flights to Fargo were cancelled. I was told I would not get to Fargo until 32 hours after my original time I was suppose to land in Fargo. After spending a fair amount of time on the phone with customer service I was able to get me on a Flight to Minneapolis that did not arrive till 1:30am then had to take a rental car to drive 3.5 hours to make it to my destination. I was not compensated for any of this. My return flight from Fargo to St. Louis was also Delayed. Both from Fargo and from Chicago. I have never experienced such poor scheduling from an airline or as many delays or cancelled flights in just a few day period."

Cons: "The plane was freezing cold. I came prepared but had to hunker down under blankets even though I had two shirts and a jacket on. This is not acceptable for any flight or airline. I caught a cold on my return trip due to this. I'm disappointed as it seemed like a newer plane. The stewardess acknowledged this but was unable to get our section to warm up. Everyone in my area of the plane was Ice cold."

Since it was an overnight flight i expected to sleep most of the time. When I was resting suddenly one of the attendants literally scream in my ear to ask if I wanted chicken or beef??? I was like" can you see I was sleeping? To me that was rude. Also they didn't coordinate to serve drinks they took more than usual to serve. No one even ask if we want more drinks or not. Hope they do better"

Lack of luggage space for those of us with the correct allowance hand luggage instead of all the extra large pieces because people don't want to go to baggage claims or pay for baggage. Truly their suitcase not paid for is the same as mine paid for. Difference is the inconvenience of having to keep my hand luggage at my feet because of the larger pieces filled by passengers in group 1, 2, and 3 over my designated seat area."
