For future trips between HNL and Europe, I am flying Air Canada via Canada."

Cons: "The staff were rude, abrasive, ignored several passengers that were trying to get her attention before take off as 2 overhead bins were wide open and full to the brim. She of course was too busy playing on her cell phone in the back of the plane and ignored/silenced the passenger call button. They were so loud when people were sleeping, yelling ‘trash please’ every 5 minutes, we are not stupid, we can see what you are doing and if we have trash, we will give it to you - so please STOP disturbing my peace and let me bloody sleep!!!! I was never offered any food or drink during the entire flight, not even when I was awake - other airline attendants are more observant and come back and ask us when we are awake if we would like anything to eat or drink. So essentially that was 7 hours with nothing after having paid a little over $700 for what was seemingly the WORST transatlantic flight I’ve ever taken. I travel back and forth often, because I’m a dual national, but I will stick to BA or Virgin Atlantic - the planes and service are far superior to this pile of turd that goes by the name of United. There were no charging facilities (power outlet or USB port) and the TVs had such horrendous resolution that you would get a headache from having to squint at the screen."

Since this was a weekend trip we would have had to turn around and get back on a flight back to SF a few hours later. I called and they didn't even offer the option to refund the ticket! I finally got us on an alternative flight leaving earlier after waiting for 30 minutes to speak with a supervisor because the person I initially spoke with had no power to do anything to help. We ended up flying Alaska Airlines on the way there and I wish we had originally booked through them because the way back was AWFUL. They wouldn't seat my partner and I together because we were flying Economy class, which they reminded us of repeatedly when I complained. The agents claimed they had no power to do anything because of the computer system which randomly selects your seats. I asked what about people traveling with small children and they didn't seem to have an answer. Oh yeah, that's another thing. As if we got a better deal than with any other airline out there after all the bag fees. The Economy class/the majority of the people flying have no carry on allowance. By the way, when we got on the flight we were able to sit next to each other because the seats next to us weren't even occupied. Ridiculous. Never flying United again. I've been bumped off of flights and had bad experiences before but this was the last straw for me."

We waited in line to check in and were then redirected to a different terminal because we were actually flying United. How did that happen and why wasn't it explained ahead of time? The seat was too small for an international flight and the entertainment was unwatchable because there was a constant screeching sound in the headphones, a problem with the jack."

Cons: "I was surprised that there were no individual TVs on the plane, and the ones in the aisles skipped the whole time. Unfortunately my iPad doesn't have data so I couldn't download the app either. I got an allergy rash on my arms and back from the blanket which is weird and hasn't ever happened and Its supposed to be clean from the package but when when I looked it blonde hair all over it. The outlets didn't work to charge my devices, even unplugging and plugging it back in didn't work, so my phone died and I didn't have my music. We were delayed in the hot plane for a long time like 30 mins before take off and we weren't officially informed until we were already 10/15 mins late to take off. Some of the crew was nice but some weren't very, and kept bumping me as they passed. They ran out of chicken dinner and we had to wait 10 mins which isn't a lot of time but most of the plane was already eating and I was hungry and then the bathrooms ran out of toilet seat covers and the paper kept falling off the dispenser and they got sort of gross on the floors. The seats were also extremely uncomfortable and my light switch for my seat actually controlled someone else's seat, and vice versa so we had to ask one another to control each other's light. This was my worst experience flying, and especially internationally, and I have flown a lot. I hope this review is helpful in addressing some items for future flights."

Cons: "The delays and plane changes started the night before, and continued throughout the day. All were listed as "Operations issues". When I arrived for the flight, it was delayed about 30 min. When boarding time approached, another delay and no plane in sight. When the other plane finally arrived almost an hour after our scheduled departure, we were told it would be a quick boarding. People started waiting in line, but no passengers were getting off the arrival. After a short time, the announced they were having problems with the luggage. After about 30 min of waiting, the flight was finally cancelled due to "weather", even though you could see other flights taking off. I'm sure it had nothing to do with our arrival airport being closed for the night by the time we would have arrived. Thanks United for the $55 cab ride. Every trip in the last year on United has either had a delayed or cancelled flight!"
