Pros: "To be honest I had a pretty bad flight because my allergies exploded during the entire flight - constant sneezing, runny nose, you name it. However, the attentiveness of the crew really made up for it. The cabin was decorated with tiny wreathes (so cute!), and the pillow/blanket was very comfortable/warm for an Economy seat. Although I did not use it as much, the entertainment seemed top-notch. And the crew-- they noticed that I was not feeling well, and offered me peppermint tea and snacks that did sooth things a bit (you can request for snack/beverage refills anytime!). I loved that they gave out black socks to the passengers too (I prefer taking my shoes off during the flight, so the socks added warmth & prevented my own socks from getting dirty). All in all, it was one of the best-serviced long flights I had, not to mention probably the most affordable price I paid for my annual trip to Korea (from LA)."

Someone met me at the end of my second flight to tell me I missed my connecting flight. With the adjusted flight Singapore gave me, there was no chance I would have made it. They did purchase a ticket for me on another airline to get to San Francisco in the end."

A great deal of turbulence earlier in the flight made it difficult to enjoy the food. Also, there was a sewage-like smell that wafted through the air periodically - this could have been a child in the surrounding seats, though. Both of these issues seem difficult for the airline staff to address, however, unless the smell actually came from a problem with the ventilation system. The staff was exceptionally helpful and good-natured, though, which made the biggest difference. Thank you so much."

Once we were on board the plane pulled away and departed a full half-hour before schedule. Everyone on the flight was forced to eat at dairy queen, which quickly ran out of everything anyone wanted. I will never fly Vietnam Airlines again."

Pros: "They 1st change the gate from#1 to #5 due to flight is late arriving to the airport, then they have mechanical problem, after couple hours of repairs, the pilot has un-board the plane, then all luggage has been re-board to another backup plane. Then a bus took us to the plane. (back to gate #1 :) The flight is actually run by Cambodia Angkor Air (code share with Vietnam). We barely made our connection flight in HoChiMing City. The seats are cheaper look. They did offer a bottle of water for your drink."

Cons: "On most of the 4 international flights I did with Vietnam Airlines the crew blocked the emergency exits with their bags, carts and rubbish. What would happen if there was a sudden emergency landing with no time to clear everything. It is against the rules but the cabin crew just ignore it. On just about everyone of the 7 Vietnam Airlines planes I flew on there were toilets locked because they did not work, toilets with holes in the wall patched with cardboard and packing tape and little things that did not work like ear phone sockets. These are only minor inconveniences, but these things are low tech and cheap and easy to repair properly. If they do not worry about these obvious and visible things what is happening about the invisible, expensive high tech maintenance to engines, air frames and control systems? It is hard to have confidence that these things are being done well when you see how shoddy the interior is repaired."

My group was given a 2hr delay notice by email. Once we got to the airport and checked in the plane was further delayed. It was the last flight of the day. What was originally 7pm flight turned in a 1230am flight, 5.5HR delay. Arrived into Siem Reap airport at 130am, which was pretty much closed. Hotel tax and regular taxi/tuktuk didn't come out at this time. We were stranded at airport and was at the mercy of overpriced hustlers who charged 3x the normal price for a riding into town. They charged $10/person and put as many people into a car/van as possible. Are vanpool had 9 people, $90 for the van in total. The airline should have arranged transportation for us to correct the situation. The hustlers didn't give receipt, this we cannot make any claims. VERY DISAPPOINTED AT CAMBODIA AIRLINES!!!!!!!!!"

The airline drove another group for a different flight to their gate but the 14 passengers on our connecting flight were left on our own to run to the gate, only to watch the plane pulling away as we ran up. The airline service desk was unapologetic and did very little to help. Since my son and I had already used our one time entry visa into Vietnam, we were not able to join the rest of the group at a local hotel. We instead had to purchase additional tickets for a 1am red-eye. Our wait in the area outside passport control had no food or water and even though we asked they would not bring us anything to eat during the 7 hours we had to wait to get our boarding passes for the red eye."

Cambodia airport have amazing lounge and services. I love Vietnam. But your AIRLINES ruined the experience."

This resulted in us buying a brand new ticket for later time and applying for a visa, given there was no ground staff from Vietnam airlines who could help."

I get that you don't want to inconvenience two sets of customers but when I booked the 1:30pm flight intentionally instead of the 3:30pm it was really irritating to see that flight leave an hour before mine."

I was told before boarding my JetStar flight that I could not keep my gifts because of the size of the bottles. I do not believe that this is fair due to the fact that I connected directly from Tokyo to Singapore. When I purchased the gifts in Tokyo I was allowed to board the flight. Is it anyway possible that I can resolve this issue?"

The seats are budget (expected) but the fellow behind me couldn't seem to grasp that I can feel his knees jabbing into my lower back through all 2.5 or so inches of leather and padding. The guy was shorter than me but felt the need to slide down in his seat to prod me in the back. Being a budget airline, many of the other passengers are families looking for a deal. Many of these families are burnt out and don't bother trying to rein in their toddlers at all anymore."
