Cons: "I paid 450 Euro for a return 2 hour flight & I didn't get a 20kg allowance. I don't expect a check in bag on a US or European budget airline but this is the national carrier. It's the first time I've paid for a checked bag in all my years flying with different national carriers. I.e. Qantas, Air New Zealand, Singapore to name a few. All in all. Air Canada charging like a national carrier but the baggage allowance policy of a budget airline. Not good enough in my opinion."

Cons: "Just before boarding it was announced that there would be no hot water on board and passengers should try to run and get a coffee at the airport. 5 hour flight ahead. I didn't have free hand to carry a coffee on board.So no coffee or tea. Also no water in the bathrooms! All meals for purchase were not loaded so no veggies or any gluten free options for purchase. Wanted to buy Duty Free and was told that it wasn't loaded either for some reason. The cabin was a bit cool and after 4 hours of cold drinks I was a bit chilled and asked for a blanket only to discover that they only sell them to the passengers. Then I got the giggles as they thanked us for choosing Air Canada voted number one airline in North America. Hilarious!!!"

Cons: "Check in at Houston is terrible. Air Canada made us transfer our own luggage between flights causing us to almost miss our flight. This should have been indicated when booking the flight, we would have purchased a different flight. When we got on the flight, overhead bin was too small for my husbands carry on and a flight attendant whisked his bag away before we could ask where she was going. She came back without the bag and we asked where she had taken it- she had checked it without asking us if this would be ok. The bag was full of valuable breakables as well as our cash and cards. We asked if we could get the bag at the gate and she said it would come out on the carousel. So we spent 3 hours completely stressed out. Drinks were only served once the entire flight, more water should have been offered. When we got off the plane one of our bags had gone missing. We had to wait 2 days to have it delivered. It was delivered at 4am in the morning. Overall compared to the previous United flight, Air Canada has lots of room for improvement."

Cons: "Seats so close should not be able to recline in someone's lap, makes it for a very uncomfortable ride. Not every passenger cares about the comfort of others. Therefore if seating have to be that close together they should not be able to recline. Our flight got in at 1am and because a family member needs assistance we were told to wait by some parked golf carts and someone would be right over to assist, we waited as we saw all passengers walk by and flight crew and no one showed. Then decided to slowly start walking and after awhile an angel of the airport staff, I wish I got her name to thank her saw our struggling through and quickly ran to grab a wheelchair and assisted us right to our shuttle service.These are the things that make airport service more pleasant, for such a state of the art airport the experience for passengers should run a little smoother and assistance to those that need it should be readily available. Bathrooms were not cleaned during the flight and there were tissues everywhere. The dinner was terrible. I had the pasta and it was just gross tasting. I don't even know what kind of sauce they tried to put on it."

Cons: "Please read previous comments (copied and pasted below) I should never have been sold the flight. The connecting time was too short - even under normal circumstances without delay I was told that I had a solid chance of missing the flight. Furthermore, once I finally made it into Montreal for my connecting flight, no one did anything to expedite my experience. They tried to get me to my final destination 24 hours after I was supposed to be there - they had a packet of accommodations for hotel and flight already prepped (mind you, I had only missing my flight by 10 minutes so clearly my seat was sold to someone else), and they didn't want to accommodate me in any other way. Explaining that I was meeting a friend who had taken another flight, I was told that the problem was not his and there was nothing I could do. Even though I found flights on Kayak and on Air Canada site for an alternate flight getting me out to Europe a few hours later, I was told "no can do." I asked him to speak to a manager and suddenly he was on the phone and (successfully) accomodating me. BUT. The flight was a connecting flight (connection in Rome to final destination Barcelona) - and he hadn't booked me the Rome to Barcelona portion. i was told - "go see the stand in Rome and they will have your ticket ready to go." They didn't have anything on their record but did tell me that this flight should not have been booked for me without having a ticket for my final destination. This was a hellish experience and I will be writing reviews and contacting Air Canada further to discuss this whole process."
Cons: "I was sent to Frankfurt because Air Canada messed up my flight. When I got to Frankfurt, they had booked me on a lufthansa flight. When I got to the gate to get a boarding pass, the person told me that Air Canada had not paid them for the flight and unless they were able to contact them before boarding the plane, I would not be able to get in. They were able to do so right before boarding. The plane from Frankfurt was over one hour late. I was supposed to arrive in Lyon at 10:35am and got there at 7:30pm. Throughout all this ordeal, Air Canada staff members were mostly unhelpful and often rude."

Cons: "My flight was cancelled. I had a wedding to attend on Saturday morning and could only be rebooked on a flight the next day at 3:10pm. I wanted to simply cancel the flight that I was automatically rebooked on; however, I have been on hold with customer service for HOURS and can not get through. I have never experienced such terrible customer service."

Cons: "Food was mediocre. The worst part was the disorganized mess at the US border checks in the Toronto airport. There were hours of wait and surely many international passengers came very close to missing their connections. The officers promised us that they will hold our connecting flights since they know we're already in the lines. However, be prepared for the stress of waiting in lines where there are not even restrooms."
