I was automatically rescheduled, also without anyone contacting me if this was okay and also without explanation. A few hours later that flight got cancelled as well. Again, no explanation. Again, no one contacted me. Again, the only reason I found out was because my phone told me. Again, I got rescheduled without anyone contacting me if this flight is in any way okay, or acceptable for me. This time around it wasn't. I tried contacting the airline, where no one ever picked up. I waited more than an hour on hold. Eventually I solved my own problem on the site, when someone rescheduled an earlier flight and I took the spot. Lucky me. As it turned out, I frequent the Toronto Islands area and someone there told me why my flights were cancelled: a dense fog. A pretty good reason. This shouldn't be a surprise to anyone, of course, there is a weather station right next to the airport and forecasts are readily available. Porter Airlines is unreachable, unreliable and disorganized: they had plenty of opportunities to assess and address the situation, contact me, and even plan for an alternative transportation for me. None of this happened."

A Black man sitting behind me was challenged (and humiliated) by a Porter agent who came on the plane before leaving the gate, that he was sitting in the wrong seat. It turns out the agent was looking at his boarding pass for the NEXT next connection flight. That delayed the take off by 10 minutes. 2. Then while taxing away from the gate for takeoff, another Black man on the same flight whose mother tongue is not English nor French, did not understand that he had to remove his earbuds for the takeoff. He said he was confused by the instructions, so the the pilot decided he was "non-compliant" and returned the plane to the gate to have him removed from the flight, bring police on the plane. I am sure he lost a lot of money and will have future difficulty flying in North America. That delayed our flight another 40 minutes, and many of us missed our connecting flights in Toronto. I just have two wonder if a white passenger would have been given the benefit of the doubt."

Had to sprint from one terminal to the other. In Toronto we sat on the tarmac for 90 mins, and this was after dealing with security and other issues with checkin before i even got on the plane. For example, it was difficult to explain that i had already paid for my checked bag the day before. As a result I never got a chance to eat the entire day. And then my bag didn't get to Tampa until later that night anyways. Although the individual staff members were all very nice, there were institutional flaws that made two days very frustrating. I have some sort of debilitating delay on more than half my flights over the last few years, and rarely is there ever an explanation or compensation."

If this is a recurring thing, why not time the arrivals and departures better to avoid making people sit there, disconnected from everything and waiting? Also the screen on my "entertainment center" was broken but thankfully I had my own book to read. Air Canada has not had the most welcoming crew or most up to date fleet in my experience; I fly with them mostly because of their cheap fares. I guess "there ain't no such thing as a free lunch"."

I specifically asked because I wanted to know if I needed to pick it up when I landed after the first leg in Toronto. He said I'd only have to go through customs and my bag will make it all the way home to Vancouver. Well, I felt weird about it and when I got off in Toronto I noticed that my baggage receipt said Toronto on it (not Vancouver). I decided to forego the connections gate because I was unsure. Lucky that I did because lo and behold, my keyboard bag was waiting for me at baggage claim. Had I trusted the check-in guy, I would've possibly lost over $1000 worth of equipment. That's not something that can easily be forgiven."

Your management in Halifax "Sharon" is out of this world too, other than that whether through Lufthansa, Air Canada or anywhere I would travel, seeing that red leaf on your wing would make me ashamed to be Canadian."

When drinks came around - I was handed a half empty glass with juice on it's exterior and borrowed a napkin from the next seat. Later I did get a napkin "thrown gently" over the person she enjoyed speaking with. I was happy to wait until connecting passengers disembarked before the local traffic, but was appalled when the more senior female steward stopped a local passenger who I know has anxiety about flying - to insist she let the other passengers off first. Air Canada needs to be educated on what human behaviour entails, before they can graduate to customer service. Together with my first name, you can know my last name is Floyd"

Pros: "Air canada needs a serious serious overhaul of the way they treat their customers especially those working at the Toronto airport I find their employees have an "entitlement" mentality that other carriers do not Customer service seems to be a priority not talking to your coworkers about the weekend while serving your customers"
Cons: "There was one employee who suggested to take an earlier flight and was very helpful Little things go along way"

Pros: "nothing particularly spectacular. The entertainment on the place is much better than most (since most don't have it) for such short flights."
Cons: "The place was delayed for over an hour for a 'maintenance issue' - what I dislike is lack of information being shared from the plane to people at the gate. Also when we are delayed for the airlines fault - customers should be given something - anything - a small voucher, or even a drink ect., this is not a weather issue. I think airlines have too much power making most terrible at customer service - air Canada is one of the worst ones."

Pros: "The flight was canceled very close to departure time and I was bumped to a flight leaving five hours later. Missed my train connection in Montreal and had to rent a car and drive to Quebec. Since I go to Canada only rarely, I ended up essentially losing the money I spent for train fare and having to pay another $145 for the rental car. Got to Quebec at 11:30 p.m. instead of 3:55 p.m. Not happy."

Pros: "1) Skycap service for boarding at Reagan National was exceptional. I requested wheelchair assistance for this return flight and the attendant gave 100% service, getting me through security and on to the boarding gate lounge area in short order. He was very pleasant and very helpful. 2) The pilots did a good job of flying, The flight was smooth as was the landing. We left Reagan a few minutes late but arrived at Pearson 16 minutes early. I liked that!"
Cons: "1) I paid extra money for a "preferred seat" because my recent hip replacement surgery required that I have ample leg room while sitting. Leg room for the first row econonomy seat I got was barely adequate. I felt cheated out of the $15 I paid for the seat (which should have been complimentary, in my opinion 2) Food service was terrible. For a 1 o'clock flight, having to get to the airport 2-3 hours ahead of departure, meant that I was in need of some serious food, not the tiny package of pretzels and the cup of tea I got. Even a couple of cookies or a muffin would have been a better offering. 3) The wheelchair assistance that I requested did not materialize for me on arrival at Pearson. I felt so cramped from sitting that I was eager to get up and try to walk, no matter how slowly, the distance to Customs and through to the exit gate to wait for my ride home. That's what I did, and I never saw a wheelchair attendant coming with a wheelchair as I exited. That is poor service! I am comparing this to the excellent service I got with American Airlines on the first leg of my trip from Toronto to DC."

Connecting Asian flight went without us at very substantial expense which ac denies is there resp because it was weather. Terrible desk attitude, long lines no communication to permit alternative planning."

Pros: "One of us had the last seat on the plane even though they were reserved almost a month ago. However we had signed up for basic economy so that was not a shock. What was a shock was that water was dripping from the top side track onto his lap and he had to use the provided brochures to redirect the dripping water. The steward said it was condensation and that was it. Also, since it was next to bathroom, the smell wasn't great and the small child screaming while waiting to get into the bathroom wasn't pleasant."

Cons: "We were forced to deplane in DC and instructed to go to the United customer service counter to arrange our missed connections in Frankfurt. After standing in line at the United counter for 2 hours, we were told to go to our gate to re-board our plane. we wasted all that time standing and all but 2 agents had left the counter to take a break. it was EXTREMELY STRESSFUL not knowing what would happen to our missed connections. when we reboarded WE still did not have connecting flights.Also, on the United flight to Frankfurt, I had a premium economy seat and it was HORRIFIC. the extra leg room did NOT make the seat more comfortable and I SUFFERED greatly because I am recovering from an injury. Upon arrival in Frankfurt, after a great deal of begging, I got a hotel room for the night and upgrad to economy premium for the flight from Frankfurt to Addis. that Lufthana flight was better because my seat reclined somewhat but still I had a great deal of pain throughout the flight and I would have preferred to have been upgraded to business so that I could lay flat to ease my physical pain. Overall, the experience was extremely STRESSFUL and painful and the only way, I feel that Lufthana can repair this situation is to give me a free upgrade to business on my flight home.to Miami"

Cons: "My 3rd old was very hungry and I reached out to cabin staff for any kind of food for purchase, they turned me down saying I need to wait for another hour till the dinner time. Did not provide any help there. My baggage did not reach with me and they promised to deliver it with in next 6 hours and it turned out that they took more than 18 hours to deliver my baggage to my home. My entire day got wasted waiting for this baggage to reach me. Poor communication made me wait and watch the door every hour. I tried to reach and get some information on when that baggage would reach me but no body knows."

Cons: "There was no space for legs and feet. Rows are too close together in economy. Only my left foot could extend forward - a metal box was bolted to the floor where a right foot would go. Seatback pockets with magazines, headphones, etc take space that knees require. Then when my front neighbor fully reclined for 7 hours, I was really pinned in (middle seat of center section). It can't be healthy to be physically restricted for so long. Very uncomfortable. Ryanair seats packed this close (for much shorter flights) don't seem to have floor obstruction, and eliminate the pockets and recline features which helps."
