Pros: The room was very nice after we requested to move from one which was near the elevator on the 3rd floor with absolutely NO view to one on a higher level with a better view and larger room. The bathroom, although small for a suite, was above average and stocked with ample amount of towels. I enjoyed the large screen smart tv in room.
Cons: The check in was awkward and the staff did not greet right away. Also the housekeeping staff is not as friendly as other hotels I have stayed at. Lastly when the bellman brought down our belongings we noticed they were unattended near the check in desk where anybody could’ve easily taken something.

Cons: The vent had an issue, it made a clicking noises all night. Thermostat also doesn't work well. Overall, I didn't have a restful stay this time due to the noisy vent.

Cons: Ocean views are not truly full ocean views - partial only. The lone elevator was intermittently working during my stay, which makes things challenging staying on a high floor. Breakfast only had coffee/tea and pre-made items.

Pros: Every member of the staff we interacted with was extremely accommodating and friendly. The location was great - right on the main drag. The price was excellent.
Cons: The a/c in the room was weak and so it was very warm overnight. Our room was near the elevators and so kind of loud. The room was not high end, but the bed was comfortable.

Pros: The staff was the best part of the stay - so accommodating with all requests and generally pleasant. Was also kept very clean in both the room and common areas. Loved the convenience of the in room fridge as well as the fantastic balconies.
Cons: If city noise bothers you, perhaps choose another site. I was on the 18th floor and could hear the street traffic very clearly. However it’s a city, so that should be expected. I live in a noisy area anyways so this was ok for me. The pillows though were soooo terrible. Flat awful things. Really, they were the only bad part of the trip.

Pros: Good location with easy access to waikiki beach. Has a Food Pantry supermarket next door. Has ethnic restaurants close buy like a very popular Udon place. Having a small balcony was nice. Gold/Platinum breakfast benefit included either a basic buffet with omelets and the like, or you could use it for a specific number of drinks with fruit or a breakfast sandwich at the market in the lobby. The buffets had good OJ and Pineapple Juice. Hotel has free coffee/tea and flavored water in the lobby at breakfast or during checkin time.
Cons: Checkin agent didn't recognize status and would have not given us our breakfast vouchers if i had not asked, that also promoted the offer of two free waters based on our status (gold). Breakfast was the same both days. Also a bit surprised that the only asian influence to breakfast was plain white rice. I would have thought that there would be some other asian influence to the buffet.

Spoke with one gentleman who was unable to arrange car reservations or recommend alternate modes of transportation and tried to get me to sit through a 90-min timeshare spiel, then waited a 1/2hr to speak to the Expedia lady, only to find out there weren't compact cars available to rent. Walked over to front desk & discussed options to get to Kailua beach. Front desk guys were super nice & gave great recommendations that made my trip great.

Cons: Hotel I found did not match up to the exterior picture and is so very different from the other local Hilton. It is away from the beach and in a busy road traffic area away from attractions. Ocean view room is from a distance over parking lots and between buildings. In room WiFi is about $10 a day and no buffet breakfast or bathrobe.

Pros: We really enjoyed how close it was to the beach. It's location was the best part of the trip. Easily walked over to rent mopeds that we rode to Diamond Head. Restaurants galore as well! The staff at the hotel are all so very sweet. The hotel itself is beautiful with a rooftop lounge/pool area; the view of Diamond Head was amazing!

Pros: The location of the hotel is about the best thing I can say about the place. It was about two blocks from the beach.
Cons: The room we had was extra small and behind the elevator. The 'view' was of another side of the hotel which had balconies (we did not) and a view of Diamond Head (we did not). In a room within our 'view' and about two floors down the people in that room had a really good time partying out there. Between the elevator and the party, sleeping was rough. In addition the towel rack in the bathroom fell apart. Finally, they charged 25.00 a day to park there. Self parking was not an option, only valet parking. If you wanted to self park you had to find a place on the street and pay the meter or in a 'lot' across a very busy street.

What we didn’t know was that we would be put on the floor right below from where they were actually working on and we’d be woken up everyday at 5:45am with banging and super loud noise. It makes no sense why they didn’t just place us on a higher floor that was completed already to avoid such a uncomfortable stay.

Cons: When we arrived to our room, the city view was a view of the parking garage, actual a parked car was about 3 feet from our window. It was NOT a city view which I booked. When we called the front desk, we were advised they were completely booked and had no rooms available elsewhere. (We looked online and it did indicate there were rooms available for the night in a better location.) We were told we would be upgraded to a partial ocean view, but not until the next night. Also, there is an additional $30 charge per night for staying at that location, we were not advised of that until we were checking in. We also had to pay an additional $47 per day for valet parking which we also were not advised of until we checked in. The rooms are run down and carpets are old. In the high traffic areas the carpet had creases in spots, enough to cause us to trip. We had a negative encounter with one of your valets, we lost the valet ticket that was on the key, when we returned, they made a big deal of it, told us that we should have kept it on the key ring. Not good customer service especially after charging $47 per day!!!. This is a Marriott Resort and we booked it because of the name and our expectations were not even remotely met... Marriott should evaluate this location, both the desperate need of renovation and some of the customer service. If it's not going to be renovated soon, then charging appropriate hotel/motel rates and advertise appropriately.

Pros: I liked the location. It's right next to the mcdonalds if you're hungry for a cheap meal, especially if you don't want to spend $35 for the breakfast buffet that they offer at the hotel. But if you get a free deal for the breakfast buffet if you book through Expedia or a third party website , it's definitely worth it. There's a parking garage connected to the hotel but it'll cost you $25/night. It's also super close to the Hyatt and international market. And the beach is 1 min walk. You just have to cross a stoplight. Diamond Head and the zoo are close too. I would uber to diamond Head if it's later in the day cuz parking can go fast. But the zoo is walkable.
Cons: There's a hidden resort fee that you pay $20 a night for. But my question was, where's the resort? The clerk was like, "this is the resort." But he wasn't clear that the "resort fee" included beach towels and beach chairs. There's a LOT of construction going on. It doesn't bother me so much, but it might bother you. There's no pool, but the hotel does have access to the Hilton's pool next door. But I was just swimming at the beach the whole time. All the "resort" amenities are basically under construction/refurbishment- like the aquarium with restaurant and tennis courts. So the only thing was I was paying a resort fee when the stuff for the resort aren't even available. I feel like they should have just waived the resort fee.

Pros: When you go to Wikipedia and look up Waikiki, there is a picture of THIS hotel! If you book an Ocean-front room on a higher floor in the Eastern-most tower, you'll have the classic view most can only dream of from your balcony or even inside the room. Besides the obvious beach across the street, within a few blocks walk, you'll find dozens of restaurants and high-end shops, as well as the Honolulu bus transit line. Timely response to the only need we presented was commendable. Wifi worked well, also.

When visiting the fitness room, one of the two elliptical trainers had a broken display. This made it impossible to use in any mode other than manual.

Pros: The updated room was very nice. We stayed on the 37th floor and we had a fabulous view of Diamond Head and the beach. The beach is literally right in front of the hotel. The location is great. It is within walking distance of everything you need. This hotel is a great value for the price. Overall, I would definitely stay here again.

When she came back she informed us they had overbooked the hotel and they had out us in a room next door at the Ohana East, which is NOT a Sheraton, just convineintly located next door. My husband was upset so the night time manager came out and talked to us. He was nice enough to get in our car & show us where the parking was for the Ohana East. Unfortunately he was wrong and told us to turn onto a one way alley street, in the wrong direction. After my husband had to reverse out if there we found the parking garage for the Ohana East When I mentioned to the Ohana East front desk staff that the Sheraton sent us here because they over booked, he said they had overbooked by FOURTY rooms !!! I would suggest you book directly thru the hotel if you want to stay here. Finding somewhere else to stay would probably be best.

He remembered my name upon checkout and also saw to it that a package that I was expecting in the mail got to my room immediately upon arrival. Angie at the pool was a great server. And one day they forgot to clean our room, but after a call to the front desk someone was in our room within a few minutes to tidy the place up. All employees certainly seemed to care a great deal for people staying at the hotel.

When i was checking out, they didn't ask how my stay was, otherwise i would've complained again. BTW, there were 4 workers just standing there when i checked out, so it's not like they were rushed. Small gym, small pool, big resort fee. Still have to pay $30/night for parking. Make sure you add $60+/day to your expected price your paying. Two sets of keys stopped working at the same time. they claim they both got demagnitized. 2 sets of keys kept in separate places at the exact same time? they screwed up. They didn't clean the room every day, even when empty from 6am-12. Bathroom stank of mildew. Safe didn't close reliably. Hair dryer only worked on 2 of 3 settings. We didn't get our welcome bag of sunscreen until second day of our stay, again pointing out they screwed up in the system. Refrigerator froze all liquids inside, not just in the icebox. No way to adjust it. Lots of drunk biker gang guys at the pool bar at night. They staggered into our private party. They have a weird elevator system where you have to press your room key and punch in the floor outside the elevator. there's no buttons inside. and you can't go from the rooms to the ground level. you have to stop at the 3rd floor in either direction. The first day i was confused and i asked the staff how to get to the ground floor, he told me i had to valet. i said i just want to get to the parking area and he just kept telling me i have to valet and pointed to the lobby. Elevators were broken every night.

Facilities are worn, tired, and much different than advertised--rooms are bare, with damaged furniture and the advice from other reviewers about needing flip-flops for the bathroom floors? Follow it. After asking to switch rooms because we booked a king, not a double room, we were told none were available. After complaints about state of the bathroom's floor and old toothpaste globbed all over the sink, the front desk was able to "pull some strings" and landed us in the room we originally booked, with a cleaner sink and marginally cleaner floor. Other guests were listening at this point, so I suspect that helped. After being frank with the front desk about our dissatisfaction with the bathroom (see below) We finally ended up in an "Ocean View" room, which was the exact same room with the exact same problems. Rooms are spatially adequate, but only include a bed and bar-height tables with stools--nowhere to comfortably sit. Bathrooms are barely serviceable, with towel racks, shower rods, etc. visibly pulling out of the walls. Caked-on dirt in the shower made it feel vaguely unsanitary, and once-white tiled floors were full of broken tiles, and grout stained with mold? urine? dirt? left me wishing I had brought those flip flops. The entire space has also clearly been painted over and over again, adding to the college-dorm feeling. Towels are scratchy and often have stains on them, as do the sheets. The worst part of the rooms was the sliding door/window system--our own door rattled and banged whenever one of our neighbors closed their doors. I was woken up at all hours of the night to what sounded like someone trying to break into our room, when in reality someone was just stepping outside. On-site parking is mandatory valet at ~$47/day+tax, considerably higher than surrounding properties after a quick web search. Valet is understaffed, so factor +15-25 min just to get your car. You'll also be forced into paying ~$39/day+tax "Resort Fee," for which you will receive absolutely no value. Even as they advertise that this covers all manner of services, good luck actually finding the amenities to enjoy. The only info given about these is on a slide which displays for 2 seconds every few minutes by the front desk (see photos). What we found was a motel masquerading as a high-rise hotel, with rooms that made me nostalgic for my old college dorm. I will caveat that all staff we spoke to were kind and polite, if not necessarily the most helpful. Despite our complaints about the bathroom, we heard no acknowledgement about our concerns, but were just continually offered an upgraded room with a view (an ocean view does not make up for the decrepit bathrooms). Staff's positive attitudes are not nearly enough to overcome the quality of the service and accommodations offered by the Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel.

Cons: The actual room we are staying in is smallish and dated, but the location is pretty decent - south end of Waikiki nearer to Diamond Head. Probably rates as 4 stars, but I have to demote it because of the aggressive timeshare people patrolling their lobby to intercept guests. After a long 13+ hours of travel, we arrived exhausted to be greeted by a young lady literally right off the elevator opening onto the lobby floor. She promised to help us get settled and seemed to be someone with the hotel. In fact, she works for Diamond Resorts, a company trying to re-brand timeshare scams into modern points-based vacation packages. What we thought was the hotel helping us get checked in and settled turned into a sales pitch about discounts on various tours, etc. if we just attended a presentation the next morning. The presentation was pitched as 2 hours, and no obligation, etc. We were pretty dazed from the travel and they were talking about saving hundreds of $ for a short presentation, so we agreed to this. You can (and should) google Diamond Resorts and educate yourself about them, and that's another story. We didn't buy anything, but they used super aggressive sales tactics and eventually basically insulted us for not agreeing to play ball and part with several thousand dollars on the spot. Here's the rub - as I was (later) researching Diamond Resorts, some of the cautionary tales about them I read were from people ambushed at other Aston properties - Maui, etc. So, I canned my plan to complain to the manager here, because clearly they condone, if not support, the Diamond Resorts people.
