Cons: Room was freezing. Hot and cold selection poor and of cheap quality. Hot breakfast was cold and products weren’t tasty. Fruit selection was terrible offering forest fruits. Staff were not very friendly or approachable.

Cons: No maintenance staff available to deal with an issue we had in our apartment as it was a Sunday. That said a member of staff did compensate us at checkout. Also some of decor in the breakfast room needs refurbishment ( the coloured dining chairs were stained and need replacing.)

Cons: If you visited when there is a conference on I expect it would be very busy, outside and in. Will be better when the nearby car park is finished, but luckily for us they weren't building at the weekend when we visited so was quiet.

Cons: The only disappointment we had was that we arrived to find that the booking I had made for a room with river view was not available. We were. however, given an executive room and could have moved the following day to a river view room but, having unpacked, did not want the upheaval of moving.

Cons: A couple of minor negative comments: The en-suite bathroom was tiled in black and the lighting was very poor making it a very difficult to see yourself in the mirror when having a shave. The lighting from the ceiling just lit the top of your head and the wall mirror face illumination was non-existent. One of those interior design ideas that works better on paper than in practice as it looks gloomy. Shame as other than this, the room was very good. A typical hotel issue; the hot buffet breakfast had the usual dried up bacon, beans with a skin on and food that had been kept warm for some time rather than having less put out at a time and being replacing more often - the variety was good however.

Cons: The only thing was the lack of check in desk, I was wandering trying to find it (noticed a few other guests doing the same) and it felt a bit too informal taking a payment in the middle of a busy bar area to pay for the room. The staff were really friendly and helpful when needed.

Cons: I have been travelling to Liverpool for the past 25 years or more, the Crowne Plaza, was arguably the best Hotel in the City for many years, however, I think that the competition is fresher, newer and better value for money. It needs a good refurb to keep up? The breakfast was an embarrassment for £15.50 each!!

The inclusive breakfast was good with lots of choice both continental and cooked. I also appreciated the complimentary drink on arrival as my room wasn't quite ready. Cons: Please invest in new beds and new sofas really lets the apartments down. We were in room 503 bedroom with en suite to small no room to move and sockets hidden behind bed . Only negative but please do think about what I have said.

Cons: Apart from the bathroom it wasn't as clean as it could have been. The bedrooms are very cramped, the style of bed doesn't help with it being a wooden base as every time you try to manoeuvre round the bed you end up catching your legs on the corner of the frame. We have all come home with bruises on our legs.

Cons: There wasn't much room for bags or storage. There just wasn't enough room to get around the end of the bed comfortably. The bathroom, although beautiful, the shower was over the bath and was very high and not easy to get in or out of. The glass surround half the bath was not moveable so you actually had to get in the bath to run the water. If you have any slight restrictions on movement then this all beomes very difficult.

Cons: Staff was incredibly unhelpful - they ignored my wife as she struggled with two bags through the doors and up the 10-12 stairs required to get into the hotel. One of the same people who ignored her later made an extra effort to walk over and stop us from walking down a staircase to view the Beatles memorabilia. Overall, the experience was off-putting.

Cons: Arriving with a car and having to park so far away from the hotel with luggage was not ideal. For the cost of a two night stay you would expect a higher standard of bed linen and pillows as advertised 'luxury'in the description. Carpets rippled in corners holes in sheer curtains. Complimentary toiletries sub standard looked cheap and tacky. No bar fridge in room, booked a balcony room expecting a view of something...... only to see the back of buildings with fire escapes no seating or table on balcony so pretty useless really. Our stay was also disrupted by the inadequate sound proofing being disturbed by other guests above walking and moving around, all in all we were quite disappointed with the experience after looking forward to our that the blurb promised.

Cons: There was no air conditioning or fan in the room so we had to keep the window open all night as it was really hot. Constant noise from revellers to be expected but got woken up at about 4.30am by some tuneless drunks singing 'Wonderwall' so didn't get much sleep.

Cons: left my car parked in an overnight private car park which was a nightmare to find and cost £11 a night. The hotel room was clean, but apart from that there was nothing else to like. The air con kept switching itself off, the toilet wouldn’t flush properly, the tv remote wouldn’t work unless it was held literally 2 inches away from the TV. On top of that I called the front desk as there was no toothpaste in my room. They told me they had run out and that there was a Tesco express around the corner if I needed some. Also the walls are paper thin. Could hear the people staying in the neighbouring room coughing and talking all night. Not impressed at all and never staying here again.

Pros: Decor, especially the lounge is breathtaking, even though it is tired. With some investment it could rival many 5 star hotels.
Cons: On checking in I asked about parking, which was advertised as private parking at £12 per night, when booked. The car park actually resembles an unused council car park opposite the back of the hotel, which stipulates that guests need to enter their registration on check in and pay £13. I queried this at reception and they said you could pay on checking our, even though a sign at reception tells you to enter your reception to avoid a fine. Room needs renovation, with existing renovation not fully in keeping with the style and design of the room. Hotel appears well used, with several functions on the night we stayed. Meals were based on full dining, with no facility for snacks or sandwiches Breakfast can only be described as an experience with far too little space, or staff to accommodate the volume of people who would be staying. This is worsened by the short duration of the breakfast sitting. Breakfast resembles eating at camp, with bench seating and a buffet refilled at irregular occasions, very poor, for such a prestige establishment.

Cons: Room was dated small and only one plug sockets The windows were filthy with people’s name written in the dirt. The window didn’t lock. The shower was dangerous with no control over the temperature it was boiling water coming out of the shower head.

Cons: The entrance was shabby, corridors were gloomy, carpets on stairs worn where no edging was fixed. Bathroom was in very poor condition. Room needed attention as curtain was hanging down at one side, shade on wall light was broken, only frame remained . Seat of armchair worn through .

Cons: Dirty bedroom wall. Uncomfortable bed. No lights in room apart from 2 side lights. Small lifts meant waited 25 mins to be able to get a lift from 5th floor. Hot and no fans to cool room. French restaurant served no French food. Floorboards broke along corridor.
