Special thanks and appreciation goes out to Damian. He helped with every aspect of our trip. Including restaurants, famous landmarks and attractions, and setting up the definitive Beatles tour. All recommendations were spot on. Next time we will opt for the larger/upgraded room over the studio size. Highly recommended

Cons: Staff was incredibly unhelpful - they ignored my wife as she struggled with two bags through the doors and up the 10-12 stairs required to get into the hotel. One of the same people who ignored her later made an extra effort to walk over and stop us from walking down a staircase to view the Beatles memorabilia. Overall, the experience was off-putting.

Cons: As this was a surprise for my wife on our silver wedding anniversary I paid for a ‘luxury room with balcony’ and was rather disappointed. In my opinion the room was rather small for luxury and was probably ready for a makeover or at least redecoration. My biggest gripe with the room was the tiny bathroom which was a bit tatty with chipped paint and loose fixtures and a shower which was downright dangerous. The hinged screen couldn’t be moved more than an inch or so either inwards or outwards resulting in climbing into the shower at the slanted end of the bath via a space no bigger than two feet then trying to negotiate the slippy sloping bath and three feet drop to the floor on your exit from the shower. I did complain to the receptionist on our departure and was told all luxury rooms were the same and she was sorry we’d had problems with the shower.

Cons: Our windows leaked and in our friends room there was a poodle on the floor so they had to change rooms. We asked the person in the lobby to please call us a taxi because it was raining so much and the person said that they don´t do that. For the Hilton hotel I call that very poor service.

Pros: We stay here often when we stay out and we love it. Nothing is too much for the staff, rooms are spacious with amazing views of the city. Worth paying a little extra for a better room as this also gets you use of the executive lounge where you can get snacks and drinks (hot drinks, soft drinks and at certain times alcoholic drinks). We’ll struggle to find better places to stay in Liverpool.
Cons: Car parking prices - but that’s Liverpool ones issue not the hotels!

Cons: Car parking is rubbish, horrible car park over a busy road so not convenient and expensive, on top of what you paid for the hotel. Car parking didn’t recognise the hotel car parking discount (dealt with excellently by the Malmaison Liverpool Manager when raised). Bacon wasn’t good, menu said “crispy” but it was fatty and under cooked. We tried to order room service food from the small menu in the room, but told that didn’t apply. Wasn’t clear when you could order from that menu.

The shower tap had broken off and was on the floor?! The sink tap was shaking mentally and this was a Superior suite with a river view! I told the manager of this and he arranged for someone to fix it... I also mentioned that I had forgotten my toothpaste and he said it would cost me £2.00 as they are not free! Later in the day, we were not allowed to use the main bar because there was a wedding on and they had hired it for the night!! I asked why was this not explained, before taking my booking and even on my arrival so I could then make an informed choice to stay... NO ANSWER! I requested to talk to to the manager who apologies and said that it would be over in 20 mins when they would then go upstairs to the function rooms. This didn't happen and instead very loud music continued to play for over an hour and we were still not allowed to use the cocktail bar, instead, the hotel guests had to sit in the lobby. The communication between the hotel's staff was poor and it felt like they were fobbing us off because the wedding was the main priority over the hotel guests. I have stayed in Belfast, Leeds, Brighton and Birmingham MalMasion's hotel and have never experienced such a mess and lack of care for the hotel guest... THE BUILDING IS NOT FIT FOR THESE KIND OF FUNCTIONS. The noise of the wedding party reverberated through the building from the mezzanine UP to us on the fourth floor and apparently, all the guests on the 2nd floor had complained to the night manager who went to the wedding party to tell them to turn down the noise but they didn't listen and carried on with the festivities - the problem being there's an atrium through the core of the building that will allow ANY music played LOUD in the function rooms to carry through the building.

Cons: I have stayed at this hotel many times and have always been very happy however this time was a bad experience and I will probably choose a different hotel next time I go to Liverpool. The problems started when I arrived the rooms I had made a preference for where not ready this was at 3pm when you can book in at 2pm. I was offered room 1112 which I accepted. On going into this room I found it to be very dark, small and the room lighting was not working also the full length mirror looked like someone had flossed their teeth all over it. I returned to reception and again spoke to Maria who asked housekeeping to go and look at the mirror. I requested one if the rooms I had preferred at the time of my booking, Maria said that I would have to wait 30 minutes as the room 1010 was not ready. I said I would wait but wanted to speak to the manager. I was waiting for about 5 minutes and a manager called Lisa I think came out I explained what had happened she gave the impression she wasn’t really interested in what I was saying and just apologised, she wasn’t even wearing her name badge. I was then told room 1010 was ready which I was happy to hear as I had stayed in this room several times before which was always perfect. I would now like to list the things I was not happy with in 1010 and the hall outside, 1. Hall did not look like it had been hoovered. 2 The paint work on the door frame inside and outside of 1010 was chipped in several places. 3 the towels did not match and were hard. 4 Air vent in bathroom near toilet was full of dirt. 5 The air con was dripping water onto the bedside table and there where water marks on the wall. 6 The inside of the wardrobe was broken. 7 The bedside tables were dusty and dirty and on the stand if the one by the window had hair on it. 8 The duvet cover had small brown spots in and there where small holes on the top plus the top right hand side was split and the duvet was visible. 9 The tea tray was dirty and needed cleaning.

That wasn’t a problem.. we later left our room as nothing had arrived which wasn’t a issue. The overall condition of the property is very run down. We booked for the Spa only to be told it was closed! No solution was offered so we hoped it would be opened the next day. It was but it is awful. To call it a Spa is rude. The hot tub was COLD and small max 3 person or 4. Water sat all over the floor, the walls are in a terrible state of repair. The pool area was not pleasant. Changing rooms smelt, lockers but no keys. Overall this hotel is very run down and needs to be modernised. I would never stay here again.

Cons: At about 10:30 pm contractors started digging the road up directly outside the hotel. Went to reception to find out what was going on, initially this was going to finish soon but after about half an hour it was established that the works were continuing until 5:30am. The room was inhabitable so we moved out, asked for a refund at reception but were told only the manager could authorise that and he wasn't there, he should have been under the curcumstances. Moved out to another location. Eventually managed to get to speak to the Manager, Luke Kendall, the next day, apparently I was the 24th person he'd spoken to regarding the previous day, was promised a full refund. That hasn't happened, we had to pay for a more expensive hotel and the promise of a refund was not fulfilled. Will certainly never go back there.

Pros: Great location, basic accommodation but you should not be expecting anything else. Good value for such a central location and would stay again.
Cons: No TV in the room but it is a hostel / budget hotel so was not a problem for me personally

Cons: Flourescent green emergency light made sure my partner had zero sleep so we went straight home next day instead of enjoying rest of weekend.. no tv in rooms either... unless they remove or tone down the lights i wouldnt recommend it. Staff were great

Cons: A tad noisy at times, doors slammed easily and the corridors echoed so when people were taking it sounded louder than it probably should, could probably do with something to prevent the doors from slamming.

Cons: Paid 268 for 2 nights for a room in which the bathroom (more like a wet room) smelt like sewage on and off the whole weekend, very noisy at night times, and have to pay to rent a hairdryer. For anyone in the dorms it would be a very reasonable price but when paying over 250 for two nights it seems a bit ridiculous.

Cons: I set the heat to the maximum possible the first night. The temperature was always below 7/8 degrees despite setting the heat to 5. I woke up in the middle of the night to put on my coat and slept with it.
The next day I mentioned it to the person in the counter. He said he would send someone to check the heat and send an extra heat and/or blanket. I arrived later in the night. The temperature continued to be extremely low, there was no extra heat or additional blanket. Once again I had to sleep wearing my coat. I asked the person at the counter (the same of the day before) and he asked me why I didn't tell people from the staff. That was actually what I had requested from him the night before! Terrible service.

Cons: The fire exit light in the room, as it was so bright and lit up the whole room. So my partner did DIY and tied some of my clothing under the white tubing on the ceiling. Beds aren’t that comfortable, but the pillows are perfect.
