Pros: The rooms a cozy and comfortable! Great breakfast and excellent staff. Could not have asked for a better location ! So many shops and restaurants just outside your door. Most definitely will be back!

Pros: perfectly located hotel with spacious rooms and a great terrace offering views of the redwood forest (that literally starts in the backyard).
Cons: access to our room was via the parking lot and through an unappealing corridor. the hotel consists of different buildings (an old and a new one) and the old building seemd more charming to us than the new one.

10.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable, quiet, large rooms. Manager was great...arranged to have yogurt and bagels available before 8am breakfast hour since we had booked early arrival at Muir Woods. Cheese, crackers and wine a nice touch. Location perfect!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everyone who worked at the B&B was friendly and helpful! The breakfast and the afternoon cocktail hour treats were delicious and beautifully presented. The room was comfortable and clean, and the location of the B&B was close enough to the main street to walk but far enough away to be quiet.
10.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent

Cons: Loved everything
7.5 Good
Pros: Location is fantastic, room is spacious, we had a nice balcony, good breakfast
Cons: We expected a more luxury room for this price. We think it’s overpriced. They ask 20$ extra for a parkplace on their property.

Pros: Breakfast was good. I wanted more value for my money and the room looked old and did not have much privacy,
Cavallo Point - Sausalito - Bedroom

9.1 Excellent (418 reviews)

When you stay at Cavallo Point in Sausalito, you'll be in the historical district, within a 10-minute drive of Golden Gate Bridge and Presidio of San Francisco. Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and dry cleaning/laundry services. Planning an event in Sausalito? This hotel has facilities measuring 2050 square feet (190 square meters), including conference space. A ferry terminal shuttle is provided at no charge, and free valet parking is available onsite.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Awesome views of Golden Gate bridge and San francisco city (we got seriously lucky with the weather - there was no fog). The hike on Marin Headlands offers beautiful vistas. The resort has good restaurants & very good service. The open field provides a good area for kids to play.
Cons: The field was uneven
6.3 Good
Pros: Proximity to San Franciso, and view. The bar area is fun and the hostesses and bartenders were great. They were all very friendly, conversational, and bartenders made good drinks.
Cons: Confused by dead grass throughout the facility. Some parts were green and lush, others brown and dead. Is it recovery from the draught, or purposeful change to the landscape? My husband also had a terrible Swedish massage. It was so bad, he felt like the 60 mins dragged on for 2 hrs. He just wanted it to end. We also asked for ice and it took 40 mins and a second phone call before we received. The dining room was drab. Our waiter was good, but my very expensive $40 Halibut was over cooked. Toilet paper in room is thin, one ply TP. If you have sensitive plumbing and need to use thinner TP, note it for guests. We had to ask for our room to be serviced and the 2nd time we left the room for about 2 hours, came back and room was still not done. I also saw a cleaning person use a washcloth (I used those on my face and other delicate body parts) to clean surface of fireplace. Even though they get washed, I’m not sure I’d do that.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful grounds. Great hiking views of water and Golden Gate Bridge.
Cons: Food Service was somewhat slow.
7.0 Good
Pros: This property has $45 per day charge as resort fees. This is not mentioned anywhere and it came to us as a surprise. Check for other hidden charges in advance.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were extremely friendly. Complimentary shuttle into the city was unexpectedly a personal “taxi” service for both myself and my wife. Excellent room with a stunning view of the Golden Gate Bridge - also had the best chips (fries if from the US!) I’ve ever tasted.
Cons: Nothing! Couldn’t fault a thing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location and style
Cons: Price
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff was incredible, and the views/grounds were fantastic. We were treated very well by everyone from the front desk to the restaurant staff. Also, the view from our room was incredible. The rooms were very comfortable as well.
Cons: Well, it's not that we didn't like anything in particular, but the rooms were definitely not at the price point Covallo Point charges. The room was nothing special, except for the view. We got the room at half price because it was on Xmas day, and it still felt expensive for what the room was. So basically, you're paying this huge amount for the name and the view.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: I loved the gardens and houses
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Location is good
Cons: No mention of NO Airconditioner. Service is slow. Room carpet was dirty. Very poor value
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Everything. I have never felt more comfortable in a hotel like I did this one. The room was amazing. The people were beyond amazing.
Cons: Nothing.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location, location, location!

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff, good service, great breakfast!
Cons: Our room was located on 3rd floor, very end unit and very noisy with highway 101 traffic. Not too bad during the day...but starting about 5am, did not have a good sleep.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very quiet. Lobby area had a good smell. Cheese and wine in the late afternoon was excellent!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: They had free bicycle checkouts at the hotel, a fantastic full breakfast, wine and cheese social hour (only went once but it was nice), peaceful view (we lucked out and got a water view), great room and even a cozy robe I wish I had at home. The staff was also very welcoming. In addition the staff responsible for prepping the breakfast get an extra tip of the hat for getting it all assembled perfectly every morning.
Cons: In truth it was a very nice place to stay if you wanted a comfy room, great breakfast in a convenient location but I thought they charged a bit much per night. Given the area I can see their price point. The only real complaint was the fact there was no power outlet in the bathroom. Very odd.
6.5 Good
Cons: The acoustics were terrible and I could hear everything from the upstairs neighbor to someone’s alarm clock. Also the plumbing makes extremely loud whining noises. So all of this was happening at all hours of the night!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We really enjoyed the breakfasts and the people helping to make breakfast delicious. We also enjoyed the location as we had easy access to San Francisco and Sonoma Valley. The setting was very peaceful and made our stay enjoyable.
Cons: Suggest mixing up the choices on the main breakfast items.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast every morning was delicious. The eggs were real not runny. The bacon was the highlight. It was crispy and thick. The best part was the view of the mountains.
Cons: The only thing I didn't like in our junior suite was that the only TV the room had was in the space were the bed was. The 2nd living space with couch and chair had no TV. When we came back to suite in the afternoons you had to lay on bed to watch TV.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location, super nice happy hour, good breakfast. Free bikes to ride, beautiful place to ride bikes. Really pleasant stay. Nice and kind staff. Very nice view of the water.
Cons: I don’t remember anything I didn’t like, except the room was a little small.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Loved breakfast, especially the frittata! Rooms comfortable and clean, bathroom well-equipped with soaps, lotions, shampoos, etc. Helpful, polite and pleasant staff.
Cons: Can't think of anything ...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Rooms, entire building smelled fresh and if lavender, great breakfast, wine hour, warm cookies, bikes.
Cons: That I couldn't stay longer!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Loved the location of the hotel and the room. (sliding door to exit) Easy to take dog outside from sliders. Beautiful property. Enjoyed the wine and cheese in the late afternoon and breakfast in the morning.
Cons: The only complaint I would have is that the grout in the bathrooms had mold on some of the tile grout. Other than that I would say it is definitely worth a trip back.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wine and cheese , bed , breakfast
Cons: Very helpful

Cons: shower was clogged
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Views are spectacular and located in the center of Sausalito.
Cons: The stairs to the upper level rooms were a workout everytime.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is a gem in beautiful Sausalito with a great view of the harbor. There was a comfortable bed and very nice bathroom. We were in the bungalows, so had direct access. Hotel is well appointed and very comfortable. Casa Madrona and area are expensive.
Cons: The two level room was a little odd, detracted from useable space.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Location awesome! Poggio's had the best food, atmosphere and staff!! We will stay again and get a room with a full view!! Totally worth it!
Cons: The only blemish on our stay was the girl who checked us in the very first night of our stay. She was not as gracious as a hotel of this caliber would hope to have in a front desk clerk. She was not knowledgeable about the parking options and seemed very put out to even be asked the question. A question that seemed quite appropriate to me, having never, ever visited the area before. The conversation never recovered from this, even though I gave her a few openings to do so.... oh well, we were not graced with her presence or attitude after that initial meeting. Absolutely everyone else we encountered was wonderful and kind!!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Amazing views and setup of the suite. We booked a king bed suite, which also included a kitchen.
Cons: Some of the staff was great, some responded with some oddly snarky comments. So definitely some strange vibes with the staff.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The view was excellent, as was the restaurant.
Cons: It took some time to figure out how to adjust the shower head.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Rooms are big and clean and updated nicely for a relaxing spa like atmosphere.
Cons: Check in was very time consuming. Granted it was a Saturday evening a more organized approach would have been nicer.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful inside and quaint. Views were extra ordinary.
Cons: AC unit was pretty loud. Blinds weren’t dark enough, so room was pretty bright at night.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The updated decor was nice, and Valet/Bell staff was really helpful. Read complaints about attitude, but didn't really notice that. Location is great for walking the town. We parked and walked for 3 days. Gorgeous views, and windows we could open and enjoy the fresh air. I would stay again. Room was comfortable although our bed was squeaky and the shower drain was slow. The building is historic, so the drain/plumbing issue I get. It was a large room as well and we didn't feel cramped over our 3 night stay.
Cons: Room was comfortable although our bed was squeaky and the shower drain was slow. The building is historic, so the drain/plumbing issue I get. It was a large room as well and we didn't feel cramped over our 3 night stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was gorgeous and the staff were exceptional.
Cons: No

Pros: The staff was very friendly and helpful. The desk people are wonderful - what a nice group of people. They make you look good!
7.5 Good
Pros: Included breakfast. Mountain View.
Cons: Breakfast should be extended to end at 11am instead of 9:30am.
1.0 Poor
Cons: filthy water gurgled up from drainage grates and flooded the parking lots at night. To get in my shoes were soaked, carried heavy suitcase. Gross, nasty hotel. Surrounded by deserted businesses-VERY isolated.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean, friendly & courteous service, convenient location!
Cons: They charged a deposit on our credit card but did not tell us they were doing so. As of 3 days later that amount has not been credited back.
7.0 Good
Pros: The room was very clean. Location was great. Nice walk along estuary in the morning. Off the main road.
Cons: Bed was soooo uncomfortable. Awful! The springs were jabbing my ribs all night. Could not sleep at all. Breakfast was very bland.
5.5 Okay
Pros: The hotel was close to Muir Woods and Sausalito.
Cons: We were placed in a room in a separate building from the breakfast. So in the morning if we wanted coffee we would have to walk through two buildings and outside. Also, the entrance street is poorly marked and almost caused an accident.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Everyone was very nice here.
Cons: Shower was not functioning 100%. It worked just seemed like it was going to break soon.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Convenient location just off Hwy 101. Free parking. Comfortable bedding. Very good breakfast.
6.3 Good
Pros: The breakfasts were very good. The location was nice, but parking lot got flooded at night and that was a problem.
Cons: Room was dirty, especially the floor. Room was cleaned thoroughly only once during a five day stay. I could not close the curtains. First night the front desk did not answer the phone. Door keys had to be replaced three times. Fire alarm went off, but no one informed the guests that it was a false alarm.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff at front desk was professional, friendly and courteous.

6.3 Good
Pros: I skipped breakfast, as I was running a race at 7.00 am and breakfast was from 8.00 am. No exception could be made.
Cons: It isn't the best place ever, but given the price, it's a nice hostel to just stay the night. Large common room and kitchen. Great location.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Awesome location and building
Cons: There is no mobile service. Also isn’t really connected with public transportation (only at weekends). Take an Uber is a hassle.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hostel is situated in an amazing area that makes you feel lightyears from the hustle and bustle, while still being close to the city. Everyone was so sweet and it was a great experience.
Cons: Everything was amazing!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Carter and Iain were especially helpful staff members. Pillows, sheets, towels, pads, Essential Oils hand soap in the bathroom, and almost any kitchen item one could imagine was available to us; also, pancake mix, raisins, tea, coffee, cream. Everything in the kitchen was clearly labeled. There were cubby holes in which we could store our own things. The inside gathering space was wide-open and welcoming. Hall lighting was stylish and seemingly, natural. Recycling was available.
Cons: The only things I missed were kitchen towels (apparently there were some there but I couldn't find them - no labeling as such?); opportunities to compost; better forewarning to bring some of your own food; and, most importantly, forewarning that there is not public transportation nearby.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was excellent and very accommodating. Especially for someone transgender. I was able to use a non-gender bathroom that normally wasn’t available. Yoga on the tennis courts was very nice. Original stay was 3 nights but extended to 11 nights since it went so well. Carter was especially helpful.
9.3 Excellent

Cons: The mattress could be better
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location in nature, great walks, friendly staff, organised and reliable staff
Cons: Said breakfast was included- but left out pancake mixture and had to make it yourself, with hardly any choice of anything to eat. It was also very difficult to get to places, a shuttle service would help.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A very relaxing environment and place to base for a few days.
Cons: I liked everything about the place.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: the property is nestled away in the headlands, very isolated and far removed from the noise and bustle of the city. but it was also close enough that if you wanted to enjoy san francisco, it was just a quick drive over the golden gate to be right back in it. i also liked how close it was to various sites like battery spencer and the lighthouse. beautiful area.
Cons: it wasn’t a huge deal or anything but being on the top bunk and needing to leave my phone charging on the floor was a little inconvenient especially since i use my phone as my clock.
6.8 Good
Pros: Staff friendly and responsive The national park is gorgeous and you're in the middle of it -- hiking trails, rodeo beach, stunning views, close easy access to Golden Gate Bridge, Sausalito. I live in the bay area and hadn't ever been on some of these trails. Historic. Nice small living room. Felt safe.
Cons: Facilities are outdated. Needs renovation. Interior and exterior needs painting. Only two bathrooms or the entire building -- meaning, one room with one toilet and shower. Bathtubs don't work. No bath gels or shampoo. Kitchen was dirty. No vending machine or other food on premises so have to drive and bring in everything. Bed mattresses are very thin.

Pros: Great location! Has great potential.
Cons: Our room wasn’t very updated and the shower floor was peeling paint. The carpet in the room doesn’t looked like it had ever been shampooed.
6.0 Good
Pros: The hotel was located close to the freeway and the Indian restaurant next to the hotel had good food.
Cons: One of the hotel staff members working in the Continental breakfast area was sick with a cold and she was sneezing over the food and drinks and not even covering her mouth. We decided to not eat the free breakfast because we were concerned germs.
4.3 Okay
Pros: Nothing.
Cons: Way overpriced. Rooms are in need of refurbishment. There is peeling & stained wallpaper, shappy carpeting.
5.5 Okay

Cons: Rooms very small and older. Bathroom very basic with old shower
7.5 Good
Pros: Staff was great! They upgraded us as there was a human error on their part. Jacuzzi tub was spacious. Had Direct TV. Had Mini Fridge. Location was right next to the 101 and north of the Golden Gate Bridge.
Cons: I could't figure out how to work the jacuzzi bath tub jets. I called the lobby to ask for verbal support. He said he didn't know. It wasn't a big thing or even a small thing. Operating jets was not a deal breaker whatsoever. I'd go back
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Let’s cation to cities, buses, shops, etc.
3.8 Mediocre
Cons: I had to switch the door access cards about 5 times since they weren’t working. Must be an issue with the door itself.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location great for SF
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Not far from Golden bridge and Alcatraz Prison - about 20 minutes away.
Cons: I asked for queen beds and they were full size bed. They should provide a sofa bed - since I asked for a queen size bed. I arrived At night - 11pm or so, could not open my room door - went back and forth to the reception - I was irritated since was too tired and wanted to rest - reception just “activated the key again m”. Not till, I told him just give me another room, I don’t want to be going back and forth - he then offer to help us open the door and told me there were no more room available.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Good location for Muir Woods and access to highways. Updating and decor are quite nice for a relatively old property. Interesting landscaped walkway with benches overlooking marsh area.
Cons: Sausalito is a pricey area, so this was a bit high but the best available. Advertised breakfast is “continental” with carbs not protein.
5.8 Okay
Pros: breakfast room is way to small. couldn't even get in to grab breakfast. the area is beautiful I will definitely stay in the area again.
Cons: The beds were very lumpy and they had blankets folded under neath. The door had an inch wide crack all around it from not having weather striping. Made me feel very unsafe, I could here everything that was going on outside.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location is perfect for Sausalito, Muir Woods & surrounding area visitors.
Cons: Room, bath & bed are all small. No bathtub. Extremely tiny soap holder in the shower. Tough to place soap in its holder without dropping it on the floor many times.
