Cons: We stayed on the 5/F facing the street. On Saturday night/Sunday early morning, it was super noisy until 4 am. I am still not sure if it was because of the bars around the neighborhood or something else. The hotel puts some ear plugs out though.

Pros: Sure, we could have stayed at the Sheraton in Centretown (in fact, we have previously), but for basically the same price, we got a real suite: two bathrooms, a large dining/sitting area, kitchen, and balcony. Now, we didn't really need all of those amenities, but it was nice to sprawl out on the couch to watch TV and munch on leftovers from Good Eats (a great little restaurant down the street), rather than sit on our bed like we would at a regular hotel. The rooms were clean. The setting was quiet, even though we were still on the edge of Centretown. And the fitness center was quite good. If you like warm cookies or mood music in your lobby, then you might be disappointed. Otherwise, this is a very good hotel option to compare against the other downtown chain hotels, and a terrific option if you are considering an extended stay.

Pros: I have stayed at Albert at bay a couple times and enjoyed each stay. Never any problems. Staff is very helpful and courteous. Hotel is within walking distance of down town. I really love the kitchen and spacious spaces. This is a great hotel for families staying for a few days to see the city because you can offset the price of the room by having some meals, snacks etc in your room with the well equipped kitchen.

Room was small but functional and clean. Gym was a little disappointing, but had treadmills eliptical and some weight machines. It was fine for a short stay, but not much more. Nearby construction makes for some unattractive views, but it's not noisy or bothersome otherwise. Overall, I was happy with my selection for the price I paid.

Cons: When we arrived the room had an odour. The staff came and sprayed with air freshener. We were not offered another room. Later in our stay when we turned on the air conditioner in the corner of the unit on the smell of dog and urine wafted out. When I asked if pets had been housed in the room I was told pets were allowed in all the rooms. If you do not want a room used for pets this is not your choice

Cons: Parking lot is very confusing and you can easily scratch your car unless very careful. It is multi-level and the hotel entrance is down 3 and to the back right. It took me 3-stays to figure this out. Gym is small but gets the job done. Get an upper floor until the renovations are completed. It will be beautiful but is noisy at the moment.

Cons: Could not figure out how to get the mini-fridge turned on, but by the time I realized there was one, was sort of too late to come in handy. Oh yes, and the charge for in-room movie was outrageous, almost $16.00.

Cons: Lobby under renovation. I made a duplicate booking and the refund process was slow and passive, and up till now I am still not sure if the refund has materialized or not. There was a fire alarm in the middle of the night during our stay, but the handling of of the emergency situation was OK and not chaotic.

At night I had little bites all over me, so I am not sure if I was allergic to the mattress or the laundry detergent they use.
The parking service is extremely expensive and it takes a long time for the parking attendants to move all of the cars underground to get to yours, so that is not a very modern or efficient system.

Cons: For years I have wanted to stay at this hotel -- I finally had the opportunity and was sorrly disappointed by the way I was spoken to and treated by front desk staff. I asked reasonable questions and said please and thank you and was treated with "...yes but you booked this on-line". As if to say I was not worthy of decent service because I booked my room on-line at the last minute." My room was not as described when I booked and I would suggest the Hotel Management double check what On-Line Travel Services are offering on behalf of their hotel - so that people are not mis-lead and then asking your snobby Front Desk staff about what was promised and then not offered.
I would have to say the price for a room is definitely not worth it. Rooms are dated and smaller than reviews and photos. The Lord Elgin did not live up to any of my expectations -- the Front Desk staff could do with better customer service training. However, BellMen/Valet staff and Housekeeping were delightful.

Pros: Les Suites is wonderful if you have young children. The bedroom suite allows you to put your children to bed and adults can continue to enjoy their evening. The fully equipped kitchen is fantastic, children can have their regular breakfast etc. which helps with routine. Very close to market, shopping and tourist attractions. This is our second stay at the hotel and have been very pleased both visits.

Pros: My family and I stayed at Les Suites for nine days and I loved that the suite was equipped with everything and there was lots of storage!!!!!! I could wash and dry our clothes, cook a meal when I felt like or bring home left overs and heat it up! The rooms are very spacious and were always clean and fresh, and the staff were very discreet, not invading your privacy. They were also very courteous when you met them in the hallways and elevators. The location of the hotel is ideal, walking distance to the mall and downtown Ottawa. I felt comfortable and at home. I would definitely be staying at Les Suites on my next visit to Canada.

Cons: They had over booked, so we didn't get the premium sweet that we had paid for. They made an error when checking us in giving us a room that was already occupied, adding a good 30 minutes to our wait to get into a room. Usually you can chalk that up to a good story, but we had an ice cream cake that melted while we waited. We had hoped to use that time to decorate the room for a surprise party.

Cons: Unfortunately durring my stay the hot tub was broken and that played a big part on why I booked that hotel to begin with, and the fact that it had a hot tub was the reason I wanted to stay there. I was on business and was looking forward to relaxing in it. This was a little disappointing.

Cons: Lack of curtain or window screen. Only a blackout shade was available so either your window was open for two very close buildings to peer into or your room was dark. Also the hotel was a little worn and the carpet needed a shampoo.

Cons: When we arrived, there was no power in the hotel. Of course this is not their fault, but we weren't even informed by the concierge when checking in, it was the teenage doorman who told us that there was no power. Not a great first impression. When they checked us in, they sent us to an occupied room which was absolutely mortifying. The next morning we woke up and noticed that there was a blood stain on the top sheet.. that was not from my partner or I. We immediately called and asked for the sheets to be changed, and informed them we were heading out for the rest of the day. When we returned back to the hotel hours later, the sheets had not been changed. Totally disgusting. The next morning my partner decided to stay in Ottawa one extra day, and wanted to stay in the room an extra night (it was close to everything and his stuff was already there). When we went downstairs to pay the extra charge, they took an ADDITIONAL deposit. Totally ridiculous as they still had a deposit from the first two nights. Definitely would not stay here again! The location was great but there were far too many issues.

The room had beautiful wall to wall and floor to ceiling windows. It was always very quiet. The AC worked like a charm, which was great bevause it was 30 degrees outside most days we were there. The gym and pool were nice.
On Canada Day the hotel let all the guests onto the top floors, which have a 360 degree view of the city, so we could watch the fireworks.

Cons: Not many complaints. There was no microwave in the room and the ice machine was located on the floor below mine. It wasn't as close to the downtown action as some of the other hotels, but it wasn't too far out of the way either.

Our room had an inner door which dimmed noise from the hall. A bar frig would have helped in this single bed room. Carpets needed to be cleaned. Otherwise it was fine. It's great location to downtown shopping is a bonus.

Cons: When I arrived, they gave me the wrong room (I booked a basic room and they gave me a room with a kitchenette). When they realized they'd upgraded me and I was staying three nights, they immediately downgraded me. I had already unpacked a little, had to repack, return to the lobby (at 2 am), and get a second room. Room number 2 had a king size bed that I wish I could post pictures of. The mattress was literally V shaped, as though an elephant had slept in the middle prior to my visit. Further, it didn't have a fitted sheet - just a flat sheet that barely covered the top, exposing an offer looking, striped mattress, ew. I eventually complained and was given a third, nicer room. So, I packed my things a second time, and went up and down returning/exchanging keys. I'd note that the woman working the morning I complained was absolutely terrible. I showed her the pictures I'd taken of the bed, which I'll eventually post on yelp, and she merely played dumb. I was not happy with the comfort or service at this hotel.

Cons: The hotel is very old and the rooms are okay but showing their age. Our suite was huge and made for a comfortable stay but the kitchenette has only a small bar fridge and microwave - No stove. The washrooms are very old and again showing their age. Basically once renovated the place will be nice but the price of a room will probably double. The parking is a disaster zone - pay the $15 dollars a day or you will not be parking anywhere near the hotel. Most of the staff is good - some of the parking guys don't listen but all and all a great deal for the money. (We had a double queen suite for about $155 a night taxes and parking included).
