Cons: It is a little hard to set the room temperature if you are used to seeing degrees in F, not C, but the staff is willing to help. The coffee machine in the room is very high quality but not easy to use if you are not used to it. Again, the staff is more than willing to help.

Cons: Given that we paid £460 for one night's stay (excluding breakfast), it just wasn't up to par. For similar money you could stay somewhere like the Savoy. I genuinely had expected much better based on the price alone. They didn't have an all-night menu although they did manage to rustle up some burnt toasties for us (which they charged us for). I'm usually very happy the places I stay and certainly not a serial complainer but this was just too much money for the standard provided.

Cons: We requested one room with twin beds but were given a large double. Also the heating in one of the rooms was not working but the hotel provided a stand alone heater. There was also building work in the hotel which started at 9am, which although not to early, is not conducive to a nice lay in on your birthday!

First time the room smelt of fresh paint, second time room looked like something out of an old movie (prehistoric mid 90s style room) and was facing the Carpark (not a very nice view) and third time my room was adjacent to works been done on the hotel (noisy)! Staff were trying to be helpful but as far as I am concerned I hated my stay here!! Also the rooms had no phone signal (and I'm on network 3, which ussually picks up everywhere in the UK) and the room phone was not working!

Cons: Not sure it represents good value. It was very expensive even for a city centre hotel. Car parking was extremely pricey even though there’s a car park further down the road and I’m not sure the hotel valet was the best choice. I was told that 24hr parking was £35 in the local car park and they only charged £45. If I stay again I would investigate the local parking even the park and ride didn’t seem to far away.

Cons: We were in a room with heavy scaffolding blocking the entire two windows. Men were talking, yelling & working/pounding in front of the two windows every morning. They totally ignored us who needed sleeping in the room. There were no privacy nor courtesy. We were not informed or asked if it's Ok for the reception to assign such a downgraded room (the windows were blocked by scaffolding entirely)to us at check in either. The service and facilities were at most a one star hotel this time. I stayed in this hotel for about 5 times in the last two years because we were visiting our daughter who was studying at Worcestor college(one block away). They've been always about a three stars hotel standard. But this time was the worst. We will not use this hotel any more. It's totally not worth the price & the poor facility.

Pros: Our executive room on the ground floor was large and very comfortable with a good, spacious shower-room (it needed a mirror light); the view out the bay window looked down the garden and was relaxing and enjoyable. Staff were very friendly and very helpful. We had one evening meal there which was very good with a reasonable menu. The location for visiting Oxford centre (no more than a mile away) is excellent; park up the car at the hotel and use the excellent, frequent bus service only 200m away.
Cons: Having been there before we expressly asked for an executive ground floor room overlooking the garden; this was confirmed via telephone on booking. When we arrived these rooms were no longer available which caused initial distress (my wife is not good on her feet; the stay was a birthday treat for me, and having stayed before we knew the choice of rooms we would be happy with).The management, however, were very helpful and considerate in resolving the upset, and by adjusting room allocation we were able to have a room we had wanted when we initially booked. Our 3 night stay was then most enjoyable and we will stay there again when next visiting Oxford.

Cons: Our only observation was that having a room near reception, some nights could be noisy as people returned from a night out or checked in late, but this wasn't every night, and was something we noticed was in the background rather than something that annoyed us. Overall the experience was good, and we would stay again, and we would recommend to others.

Cons: We stayed for two nights. There were flies in the room and no matter how many we swatted more appeared. Despite putting the card on the door to make up the room it was not serviced. No towels, no tissues and no tea. Worst of all when we emptied the wardrobe there was used underwear in the bottom of the wardrobe that had clearly been there for a long time We travel a lot and are not complainers but I did complain on this occasion and was told that someone would e-mail me, we've waited but nothing hence the review

Basic cleaning ok. Moved beds and not been cleaned for a while, but most people don't move beds. (Had 2 singles, so pushed together).

Pros: Bed was very comfy and well located. Was fairly good for value of money.
Cons: Room wasn't throughly cleaned the first night, clothes were left in the cupboard. The walls are very thin so I was kept up late at night as you could hear people walking about in the property.

Cons: The room was uncomfortably hot, we were on the top floor and whilst going up the stairs you can literally feel the heat change. Even with open windows and the fan turned on it was very warm. The shower began to fill up quite quickly and almost flooded within a few minutes. I would have preferred to have another bedside table on the other side of the bed and more plugs are needed.

Cons: The room was very small for a double, certainly not space for two people unless in the bed. The shower didn’t drain properly so you ended up with a foot bath. Light over mirror in bathroom didn’t work. No air con and it was stifling and no fridge to store cool drinks. No safe, no iron. This is not really a hotel as such, just a desk in a tiny alcove where a person handed you a key and took it back when you left.

Cons: Described as "courtyard views" our room was overlooking the extractor fans of the local fast food restaurants which were noisy and smelly until late at night. A lift would have been nice!

Cons: We were trying to sleep yesterday after travelling and there was someone doing construction in the hallway for several hours. They were also removing roof tiles. If you're going to do construction, close down for a day, get it all done and then do it. Or, do most of it outside away from the rooms so that people can sleep.

Cons: don't get mislead by the English owner names, the place was infact in bad upkeep. reception area if you can say that was like I hoarders front room with someone cooking in the adjoining room. NO BREAKFAST so false advertising. wouldn't recommend the place if I'm honest and DEFINITELY over priced.

The bathroom was terrible, the shower was a trickle on a temporary holder that didn't work. All in all can't really recommend this place. If it was £40 a night maybe but at £75 per night it's very over priced
