An old hotel that has echoes of "The Grand Budapest Hotel", a faded palace where Verdi once stayed. Steps from Termini station and the A Metro at Republicà, it is an excellent jumping off point for your Roman stay. The staff is extremely friendly. The included breakfast is forgettable, though the garden in which it is served is not. Skip it for a cappuccino and corneto at one of Rome's countless Caffè.
The cleanliness was not top priority they only made beds they did not clear cups for days or replace toilet paper. The Defoe at night reminds me of the shining as well. The breakfast set up was ok but when ordering room service as the walk is so far the staff is rude See above
central location proximity to train station friendly staff clean and spacious room
Delicious breakfast. If you can get a room on the fourth floor, there is a balcony with a lovely view. Rooms were clean and spacious. Bathrooms are very clean. They will also keep your luggage all day when you check out if you are going to do some sightseeing. Showers are a bit small. But the bathroom as a whole is actually quite a nice size.
Close to allo public ransport. Quiet. Buffet breakfast ample. Cleaning stff did not clean/sweep room well.
Excellent location, friendly staff conversant in English, comfortable room, and an early breakfast which for tourists with a full day planned was good.
Rooms were spacious and very clean, good location close to metro and termini station, good breakfast buffet, friendly and helpful staff
5-star hotel for the cheap price. Ideal location walking distance from Termini. New, clean and modern hotel. Big bedroom and fantastic bathroom. Staff are first rated. Great buffet breakfast. Hotel has their own fleet of black Mercedes cars take you to the airport. All in all, the very best hotel during our 4 weeks in 5 European countries.
Modern, clean, and convenient to train station, shopping, and restaurants. Price of room with twin beds pushed together was $266 for one night. Price did not include WiFi. Desk clerk tried to get us to upgrade room for an extra $70 to get a double bed, free WiFi, and a small balcony. For $266/night, I would think they could throw in WiFi. Also asked desk clerk to make change for a 50 Euro. I was told they didn't make change and I should go to a small store across the street. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone as there are many other hotels in the same area that provide more value for the money.
Stayed here once before and enjoyed my stay both times. Front desk was pleasant and helpful. Excellent location. Within 5 minutes walking distance from Roma Termini. Room was a generous size by European standards, large bathroom. Would definitely stay there again.
Rome was fabulous but hotel was a huge disappointment. Expensive for what it offered. Dinner for 2 was 250 euros and breakfast was 25 euros per person. Breakfast was disgusting with scrambled eggs that tasted like rubber. To iro a handkerchief was 9 euros - not that we did but this gives you an idea of what a rip off it was. Swimming pool is a small plunge pool and was out of service anyway.
This hotel is in a great location for public transport. It's 30 seconds walk from the bus/train/metro station which all connect. The rooms were spacious and clean. The staff at reception were very helpful and friendly. I had no bad experience or difficulties during my stay.
big room, clean bathroom extremely poor breakfast; to expensive for the services offered
Staff was excellent- helped with anything we needed. Very good location with easy access to the subway.
It was central to main attractions. Clean pleasant. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel. The only thing I would recommend if they had tea and coffee facility in the room.
This hotel exceeded my expectations. The room was surprisingly spacious and the bed and pillows were very comfortable compared to other hotels we stayed at during our trip. The bathroom was also very nice. The restaurant in the hotel was very nice and the food was very very good as well, just a little pricey. My only complaint was the location. Although centrally located and right across the street from the train station, it was too busy for my liking which made it somewhat noisy in our room.
Staff was amazingly responsive and really tried to make our stay special. Air conditioning never cooled the room. Complained and the staff responded, but nothing changed. It was hot and stuffy.
Breakfast, Cleaning in Room thin walls. could hear noise from other rooms
Decent breakfast and rooms are clean AC was disabled despite hot weather
This hotel was lovely and much better than a 3 star. The room and bathroom was massive with plenty of mirrors--since it was 3 girls in a room it was a benefit. Extremely clean, beds comfortable and staff extremely helpful. breakfast was lovely. Grat hotel and location The hotel was superb we have no complaints and i have stayed in many hotels
good location easy to get to main atractions
Recently updated hotel close to Termini. Friendly and helpful staff make this hotel a great option for someone into simplicity. Steam/sauna, convenient to sights, inexpensive breakfast .... What more could you ask for!! I will return to this hotel next visit
Only the location First of all we were booked on this hotel that we choose for the convinient location near the Termini station in Rome. On arrival we saw a big group also arriving by bus, and we thougt that the check in will be long. that wasn't the case since agter a few minutes they just told us that there was a problem with the room and that they will relocate is at another best western hotel, the president. Well since the all purpose of this choice was the convinient location near the Termini, we weren't haapy with this change because it meant that we would spend much more time and money in transport to get to termini. when we told them that they said that they will pay the taxi for the hotel, and then the taxi for termini on the next day, and also another one for termini on that same night if we want to, since we were visiting family near the station. Well we refuse the taxi for that night, but accepted the taxi for the next day to termini. We confirmed this when we arrived at the new hotel and they also told us the same, tjat they will pay the taxi to termini The next day when we requested the taxi, the answer was different, that they couldn't pay the taxi to termini, only to the best western universo and then we would have to walk to the station. If they told us that on the beggining we would made different arrangments, since we would need more time to do that, and consequently we could only catch the train to fiumicimo much later than we were thinking and got us trough running since the station and terminals, almost loosing our flight. So, for this, not very happy with best western, even if they offered us a fruit basket.
