Not a great start to our vacation. The sixt representative at the airport counter was extremely unhelpful. I already booked the car online but when this man gave me the amount due for the rental he included the sixt rental coverage. I had selected no online. When I told him I did not want the rental coverage and I asked if my personal insurance would suffice to cover the car he just answered “I don’t know”. I asked him if other people usually decline the sixt insurance and he also said “I don’t know”. Also on the bill was a “premium location charge” of around $30 which apparently is for renting the car from the airport, however when I made my rental booking beforehand this charge was not on the price. I asked him about it and he said it was standard, but again, if it is standard then why wasn’t it on my initial reservation charge? Lastly, the representative asked if I wanted an automatic or manual transmission. I said manual. When we got to our rental car it was an automatic transmission. This employee is representing your brand very poorly. All the surrounding customer service representatives seemed more interested and helpful with regards to their jobs. at Kayak site, I thought I was go to ther next step and choose insurance but instead the booking got finished! there was no option to choose insurance variant at the time of booking. the Sixt site did not allow to see what isurance type is in the package and did not allow to add insurance either. I considered cancelling but there was no info if it is possible for free or at a fee. the insurance rates at the desk were rip-off.Reviewed 25 Feb. 2023

the car had a yellow warning light when we got him and he was missing some engineoil It was difficult to reach someone for assistance in the pick up parking place. no assistance phones where working in the parking place. I had to go back to service desk at the airport and get new car. then the new car was not in the parking place where it should be so I had to go back to the service desk to get the right parking place where the car was so finally we could start the journeyReviewed 13 Feb. 2023

My message to thier customer service team: Hello, When I went to the rental pickup today I had reservation for a BMW 3 or Audi A4 (or similar). The desk agent said that he was giving me a free upgrade to an Audi A8. When I told him that credit card covers my rental car damage, he pushed hard that since that car is a very expensive one that my card wouldn’t cover it and if there was a scratch it could hundreds to thousands out of pocket. I told him that in that case I don’t want the car. He told me that there was no other option in my class car that I booked or I could have a tiny Corolla. I didn’t want to be cramped in a small car so I agreed to the A8 and the insurance. When I got in the car and tried to pull it out of the parking spot, I had a lot of difficulty maneuvering it and was very uncomfortable driving it. There were several cars in the garage that I would have been fine driving so I went back to the agent and told him I couldn’t drive the car. He insisted over and over that the other cars weren’t available. He never consulted a manager or offered any other solution. Finally someone else came over and assisted me and was able to set me up with a BMW X3 which was perfect. The problem is that both insurances are still on the rental agreement and I never wanted or needed it in the first place. I believe that the agent pushed that car on me so I would agree to the insurance. This is not an acceptable practice! I would like the insurance removed from my bill.Reviewed 21 Sep. 2022
