Cons: "Boarding this flight consisted of minimal organization on the crews behalf, the Gate's security machines were off, people scattered everywhere with not enough seats to fit everyone. When entering the gate (with security machines turned off keeping in mind everyone has already passed general airport security and is only trying to enter the gate. Staff would direct passengers towards an attempt at creating a boarding queue. Once passing the gate doors and walking towards the queue directed by staff, it seemed to be a normal occurance to have another staff memeber shout at you and redirect you another way. Getting scolded by gate employees and requested to remove all electronics turn them on and being requested to remove most clothing items at the gate while everyone is watching with security machines off while only selecting a few passengers seems to be a regular occurnace in Doha & with Qatar Airways. People standing all around, no queues were initiated by staff, instead staff would push through passengers to get to the front instead of propretly annoucing the boarding through an intercom. No matter how loud staff was screaming their sounds were drowned out by the passengers which turned boarding a full translatlantic flight into a chaotic scene. Once on the flight I noticed the headphones provided were broken, I politely requested a new pair...from 3 different employees...which took over 20 mins to replaced. Qatar Airways prides itself on quality unfortunately as an economy passenger I have yet to experience any of that other than when it comes to good on flight entertainment."

Cons: "Check in crew in Lahore ganged up against me and wanted to extort £200 for taking me laptop on board along with my hand carry. No where in the world has an airline ever asked me for this, and I fly a fair bit. Since I didn't allow them to extort me, they forced me to throw away my brand new Delsey hand carry at the airport. I had no cover as they threatened to if load my luggage and not let me fly home. Not a 5 start airline from any angle. Will never use Qatar again!!! This was my first and last flight with them."

Overall there was just a 2 hour delay, however the experience of transferring was quite stressful, not to mention that my bags didn't make it to New York. More often than not, the plane parks way out in the back 40, and shuttle buses take you to a processing point. If you have less than a 2 Hr layover, and you're switching between Domestic and International flights, you will need to walk at top speeds, or run. Passport Control and multiple security checkpoints could easily cause you to miss your flight."

Partially due to the fact that they have 787 Dreamliners now, in which the seats are wider and are reclining more than before, the leg room is bigger, the air quality better. The crew members are very professional,not overly sweet,yet caring and understanding,especially when you are flying with small children.As to those complaining about overcharged luggage- read the rules people! If you go over the maximum limit of 50lb for a check in, let's say 2lb,they won't charge you,but don't expect them to close their eyes when your luggage weighs almost double that!"

With our previous flight delayed, the application did not process in time, and we missed our connecting flight. As a result, we were stuck in Poland for 24 hours, leading to lost sleep, added expense, and much frustration. Customer service in Poland was helpful but extremely slow. Many customers needed help and it took about an hour for each customer. We waited in line for hours. We were not charged for a new flight, but we did spend 10 exhausting hours in the airport before we had everything resolved and were able to leave and get a few hours of sleep."

The second meal served was inedible as the bread was completely stale. Also, one of the toilets was broken and kept flushing, even when sitting on it. Like the boarding process, disembarking was sloppy and confusing. It took a very long time to open the door, and they only told people at the last minute that they needed to get their passports out."

Even when I finally got through, no-one could provide me ANY information as to the whereabouts of my bag. It finally showed up on the last day of my stay, but it was delivered to another hotel (which I only figured out after about 10 phone calls). Also, they offer perhaps the worst in-flight video selection I have ever seen."

The flight was very long, so individual entertainment would have made the time pass a little more quickly. The main meal entree was okay, but the bun and brownie was stale. The snack was inedible, despite being quite hungry (stale bun with very little chicken, no seasoning or lettuce or mayo, very dry). Did not see the crew very much after the initial meal was served, but that was okay as I did not require assistance."

Food was cold and not tasty. Their web site says “…favorite dishes from the unique menu from the chef!” Really? Cold pasta with tomato sauce!"

Thank goodness it occurred to me to do the online check-in (which, by the way, did not work from my phone; I had to ask the hotel lobby to lend me a computer) because they charge you a fee if you do not arrive with a printed boarding pass. They also weigh your hand luggage and if it is over 7kg (which is nothing!) they force you to pay 70 euro to check it in. We had to pay 140 euro for our 2 check-in bags anyway, because apparently the tickets we bought did not include check-in luggage. Mind you, when I booked our flight nowhere did it indicate I would need to pay for luggage, and when I did the online check-in it also did not state I should or could pay for luggage. Other passengers said that their flight to Lviv included their checked bags, but they got charged for the luggage when flying back out of Lviv. One young man who was already ready to board was told to go back out to check in his hand luggage because it was too heavy (although he had already been allowed through to security with his hand luggage)... and the “scientific” method for showing it was too heavy was the man at the gate simply lifting it and deciding it was past the limit. The lady at the info counter, when we had to pay for our luggage, was extremely rude; in my husband’s words, she was “uniquiley unqualified for a position involving customer service”. So... the ticket itself from Lviv to Kraków might have been affordable, but the airline finds creative ways to make you pay through your nose. We would have actually saved money (and stress) by booking a direct flight with a different airline (or taking the train!). Hopefully UIA will ”get with the times” and become more transparent about their charges, as well as find more qualified customer service representatives. Ukraine is a lovely country and many of the people coming through are seasoned travelers. If the airline continues to make it difficult for flyers, many may choose not to return. This was a short flight, but not even drinks were served."

Unboarding : we were on the last (or perhaps only) bus. It was so crammed inside we could barely fit in. 30 min late arrival. Drinks on the plane :none. Just water. Staff on the plane were nice and polite but it's a short flight."

Cons: "Many people missed the flight because the flight leaves at 00:30 and there was no notification that it is one day earlier than many have expected. I traveled to the airport on Thursday evening to get on the flight at 00:30, but was told that the flight left the previous night. There could have been better notification about the dates to avoid that confusion. That did not help anyone!!"

Cons: "My trip had just started and it is already ruined. I have a roundtrip ticket from NYC to Israel with a connection in Ukraine for both directions. I was traveling with one checked item in luggage - suitacse, and one personal item onboard - a guitar in a soft case. I'm a professional musician and I've been traveling with this exact instrument in the exact for over 5 years, domestically in the US and all over the world. I've never had any problems with it and I was always treated respectfully even with low cost airlines or on smaller airplanes. There were no problems on the first part of the flight from NYC to Kiev, and then, as I was boarding a the flight from Kiev to Israel, the counter employee at the gate counter (her first name is: Yejzina) - explained to me that if I won't pay an additional 66 EURO immediately, I would not be able to board on the flights with my guitar. I was even more upset to find out that another passenger boarded the flight after me with a guitar and did not have to pay for it. My guitar fit perfectly in the over head cabin and even on a packed flight there was no issue with headroom caused by me. Although I paid and purchased a ticket for this flight, I was discriminated and treated as if I was doing something wrong. I did my best to be responsible and be among the first people to board the flight and instead I was mistreated. The rest of the passengers had exceptional amount of excess baggage in suitcases and bags they wanted to take on board and yet I was the only one who was asked to pay for his. --- As a costumer, I am appalled by the treatment I was getting and I would like to be contacted immediately about reimbursement over my experience and false costs."

Cons: "The whole experience was absolutely exhausting. Gatwick airport is nothing short of a disaster. The UIA counter can't take payments and the "international" airport can only take certain forms of payment (non of which are dollars- I know it's London, but I've never been anywhere that can't accommodate this). Ukraine international airlines are extortionists that will hold you and your luggage hostage with arbitrary baggage policies. 6kg is the cabin policy by the way. And if you don't read the fine print, you too can spend $80 to check a TSA approved hand bag. That's right. 12kg and all it cost me was EIGHTY US DOLLARS. Then they printed the incorrect boarding pass. When I returned, in a hurry because this whole ordeal lasted 45 minutes, the agent at the check-in counter demanded I "say please" to get my correct boarding pass. I've flown on 4-6 segments per week for the last four years. I understand how to communicate with airline agents, but wow... These people are off their rockers. During this whole conundrum, they even checked two people in under the same name. These people are in no way qualified to be operating an airline or maintaining personal information of any sort."

Entertainment was standard, and the flight itself was smooth. The seats were very uncomfortable, but you get what you pay for. Overall, decent flight."

In general, I try avoid this airline when I can but alas it's hard as I come to Ukraine often. I always have such trouble checking in online that I end up in a middle seat so all around I am always sort of dreading my connection on this airline."

Cons: "Hello, at my check in the person who helped me was not very professional. The first thing he did was to say that I had 2 kilos overweight on my cabin bag, even before checking if I was booked on the 20.00 flight to Prague yet. And this is the exactly same cabin bag which I was carrying on the way from Prague to Kiev, its a camera bag with a tripad on the side (which at the check in in Prague the woman said was ok) . So I had to ask him if I was booked on the flight or not, since I didnt see the flight on the "departures" screen which made me a bit worried. Then he first said that I was not booked on the flight, but changed his mind immediately. But I did not receive any information from him that the flight was delayed with 50 minutes, I found out that after doing the security check. Not the smoothest service, but I think the guy was totally new so he was maybe a bit nervous. Thanks / M"
