Get to Athens airport early. 3-4 hours early if you want to be comfortable. There were so many people and the airport wasn't staffed for it. We were there 2 hours early and were last to board the plane. Also had to sit in plane for an hour waiting for ATC to approve taxi and takeoff.

Give yourself time to go through a very stressful airport experience due to signage limitations.

Bring an empty water bottle to fill after security/customs. Buying bottled water is extremely expensive at Schiphol but there several water fountains you can use to fill your bottle and bring onboard. Schiphol has excellent facilities to charge your devices. Montreal terminal restaurants are extremely expensive. Bring snacks with you. The customs automated gates has been a game changer at Canadian airports. I was out within a few minutes. It used to take 60-90 minutes before.
Verified travelerFlew with Air CanadaMXP-YULMay 2025
Get to MXP airport early, as it is under major renovation: the escalators to get from the train station to the departures area do not work, and there are long lines at the lifts.

Zurich is a much larger airport than Geneva, and if you're coming from a connecting flight, be prepared to walk a lot to change terminal, going up and down quite a bit, using a metro to switch terminal. Note that it takes at least 15-20 minutes to go from Terminal A to terminal E (international flights) and you'll have to go thru customs to exit the European Schengen space. In this aspect, Geneva is much smaller and has now a modernized international terminal with a nice view on the tarmac.
Verified travelerFlew with Air CanadaFRA-YYZSep 2024
Bring a neck ring pillow for international flights. For the comfort and sleep of other customers, please be considerate and keep the window covers closed once the plane is in the air and at least until 30 minutes before landing.

We arrived early , check in process and navigation through airport was very easy and fast , later it got much busier.

I hadn’t noticed that my second flight was on Air Canada Rouge from TO to Kelowna. No entertainment and few food options. My bad bc it was explained but i hadn’t noticed. So note whether it the regular AC carrier or the budget service. I’d booked a flex flight so assumed all were the same level. But it was clearly explained, I just did’t notice at the time of booking.

Most airlines accommodate senior couples together. For us even though there were empty seats on the plane we were given seating not next to one another. Also make sure to check your phone for messages since gates often change

Boarding of the plane is a nightmare, and the gate staff don’t allow sufficient time for each zone to board in order. Get in line ASAP and just start board as soon as they begin letting people on the plane. Also, the self service check in machines won’t print baggage tags (we tried four different machines and none of them would print a baggage tag even though we had done online check in to indicate that we had checked bags).
Verified travelerFlew with Air CanadaFRA-YULJul 2024
if your final destination is the usa, check your luggage- it will save a lot of time in the Montreal airport get water just before your board.
Verified travelerFlew with Air CanadaLIS-YYZJun 2024
Check your bags and carry only a small tote on board. Air Canada is fantastic about letting you know the progress of your bags, where to pick them up, etc. The freedom of not having to haul bags around the airport, onto the plane, off the plane, etc. is well worth the couple of minutes wait for the bags to be deposited on the carousel. Security in Toronto is a mess. This is especially puzzling since one has already been through security in Lisbon. Why one needs do this again is a wonder since transiting passengers are insulated from outside contact while passing through the airport.
BeatFlew with Air TransatBSL-YULAug 2024
Air Transat is pretty much the only company flying to Montreal from Basel. Beware that registration happens from the French side of the airport. Security check is not very well organized, be prepared to unpack lots of stuff. Walk to the gate is fairly long.

It's hard to find gluten free food in Frankfurt airport, so bring food with you. Be prepared for the smoke lounges that "leak" out smoke into the hallways - there's frequently, at least a faint smell, of cigarette smoke.

Just know that if you were going to the US, you will have to go through an additional layer of security and an additional layer of customs when you get to your next to last city

Give yourself enough connection time in London to clear customs even for connecting flights.
Verified travelerFlew with WestJetCDG-YYCJul 2024
I heard from other passengers that WestJet does not load passengers using the jet way at Charles de Gaulle airport. There loading involves a flight of stairs from the terminal to a bunch of buses. All passengers are driven 10-15 mins to the aircraft and then, one by one, each bus unloads and passengers climb a ladder into the plane. A horrible experience for anyone with mobility issues or for parents with little kids / strollers. I have also flown Air France to / from CDG and the flights were loaded / unloaded on jetways.

Try to book your flights on one reservation to ensure you can book seats together at the 24-hour check-in, or at least giving the airline notice so they will try to put you together.

If you’ve never been to the Frankfurt airport get there early. It’s huge and there is a lot of walking.

Recognise that the flights only go twice a week, so, there isn’t really the option of “just take the next flight” if there’s an issue. Have a Plan B figured out.

It was very good but no tv but the experience was great

Thank you for making my first experience very enjoyable. You made it all very pleasant

Great flight great seats will absolutely fly with you again

Porter airlines was good. I didn't have the best experience when booking through airfare assist however, as I got no final confirmation from them that the flight was booked until I called them. Even then, the confirmation code they gave me was incorrect and couldn't be used for check in. On a positive note airfare assist was actually picked up the phone relatively quickly when calling

The flight crew were very good, polite, and professional. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience left much to be desired. The food was extremely bland—almost tasteless. We chose the non vegetarian .The lasagna was just plain pasta with a tiny garnish and no seasoning. It felt like eating starch only, The bigger issue was with luggage and space. We boarded with three tickets, and while the seats in front of us were nearly empty, all the overhead compartments had already been filled by passengers boarding to the back. This left us and many others with no overhead storage for our carry-ons. Our bags couldn’t fit well under the seats either, which meant we lost the little legroom we had. The result was a horrible, cramped experience—sore knees, no space to stretch, and no way to rest or sleep comfortably. According to the crew this was a rather normal thing. It is obviously normal that people board with handbag and carry on but they should be only allowed to use their overhead compartment and under their seat not the way it is managed that all the spaces in the front of the plane being occupied by the people sitting way back in the plane.

Nice complete meal included and great services. Plus the plane was very clean.

Everything was horrible. On the day of my departure, I was denied check-in and boarding because my reservation only showed one of my last names, while my passport contains both. This minor discrepancy could have been easily corrected, but I was informed that no adjustment could be made. As a result, I lost not only my outbound flight but also my return flight and had to purchase a new ticket at a significantly higher cost.

This has been the worst experience I’ve ever had. Basically, I lost my round-trip tickets because one of my last names was missing, and you didn’t allow me to correct it. I had to purchase a full ticket again. Once I get home, I will start legal proceedings against you.

The crew were polite and courteous. The Pilot did an excellent landing. It was very smooth and gentle. My only regret is that I was charged twice for my luggage . The attendant gave me no receipt . I didn't realize until I was about to board. How can this be resolved? Thank you.

Very smooth flights Toronto to Rome and return. Crews were great, food was fine but very narrow seats and limited leg room. Aisle seats on our return helped with a bit more space.

At the airport, terrible, I do not want to even remember it. It was too humiliating for a business class passenger.

Flight was ok but lack of communication cost me to literally beg to be put on another flight as connecting flight had departed

Couldn’t get boarding pass in SLC even with help from a redcoat, so had to find a desk in AMS to get boarding pass. Technical problems so not sure why. Very inconvenient. The KLM app is not as user friendly as most apps. Also had to wait almost an hour on the tarmac for a fuel truck, which caused us to miss a connecting bus in LUX.

The immigration hall in Amsterdam was understaffed, so passport checking was slower than it should be for a major airport. They need to get the automatic readers up and running for non EU passport holders. Waiting in line after a long flight feels a bit abusive.

Over 1 Hr delay. No APU so no AC on ground. Plane was hot during boarding and then they closed the doors over 20 minutes before engine start so interior of plane was steamy hot and stuffy. Could have been helped by opening doors until ready to depart.

The baggage drop-off in Stuttgart is bad: after online check-in you cannot use the automated baggage drop off as indicated on the website. You can use the terminals but have to cue to 1 of three open and slowly working counters to drop the bags. took about 45 minutes wait time.

Our first flight was delayed so we missed our connecting flight. However it was easy to book a later flight on their app.

Klm start boarding while somw air issue in the plan

The service was great. However the lounge only gets passing grade

I appreciate that KLM was proactive in informing me of the 2 hour delay which enabled me to replan my travel. It was a bit stressful not knowing whether my connection from Montreal to Ottawa was happening. But the ground and air crew did a good job at comforting and assuring me.

My seat was one of those that couldn't recline, but the problem was that it was abnormally upright, so the headrest actually made the seat concave, which was uncomfortable and hard on my lower back. I had to ball my jacket up and use it as lumbar support. goodness I had it with me.

Boarding was so so after zone 3 was called all other zones went in

Good. But not to serve tea/coffee during a 8-hour plus flight is bad.

We had a long walk from one gate to the other. The busnessclass was full and we could not get seats together.

Too many delays. Seats too small. A budget airline. Will never fly Air Canada again.

On board wifi or other entertainment. Landlines option was good but ran late to Pearson

I liked a lot , the flight attendant so nice ,the seat very comfortable I enjoyed the flight , I will do it again with Air Canada,

I paid extra to have a seat with more leg room next to a door. Turns out that is next to the bathroom. Customers disrespected my space the entire trip by stepping on my feet and tripping over me. You need to do a better job defining the space! Others had leg room under the seat in front of them and then used my space as a lounge and waiting area. Never again!

Flight was late leaving. Charge for luggage which still has not arrived and will be delivered in a week.

The cabin crew and entertainment options were great, but the food was really bad.

Paid for exit row at the back of the plane. Window seat with lots of leg space. Food was inedible (as usual). Brought my own.

Be aware that your carry on is no longer a carryon. They go by the weight not just the size. Because we were forced to check them we missed our connection. Waiting over half hour at the luggage carrosol. Also, this added inconvenience happened because they "kayak" changed our itinerary knowing our connection was almost impossible, they wouldn't make different flights. Will never book the flight through KAYAK. USE the carrier for direct.

Missed flight. Requested assistance for my father and he did not receive it in Paris.

Business Class was very comfortable and the food and service was top notch.

They didn't open the Check-in desks for almost an hour after they should've been open (even though encouraged us to check-in our carry-on luggage because it was going to be a full flight). They alerted us that the flight would be delayed but slow-rolled informing us of the extent of the delay...which ended up being over 3 hours. As a result of this, I missed my connecting flight and had to stay over-night in Munich when it would've been a lot better for me to just stay in Warsaw another night....Lufthansa wasn't done with me yet though as I had more bad experiences with them after getting to Munich.

Seat very cramped, could not recline. No cheese with meal. Staff very helpful.

Staff was very professional friendly food was okay i used the lufthansa app and it was great told me immediately what gate I should go i would fly with lufthansa anytime

The crew was very nice. The equipment on the 747 felt old.

As expected. Would have appreciated a 3-day headsup reminder as a reassurance that all is well.

Poor food on flight between Toronto and Stockholm Airport Toronto too crowded

Tickets get checked 4 separate times by different staff, would save time if only the person at the entrance and the person who scans the tickets checks them!

It was perfect. The service was exceptional. I would never want to cross the Atlantic in anyone else's sardine tins.

I was a bit disappointed that checked in luggage was not included in the ticket. That should be a standard thing for most international flights.

Horrible experience. They broke the handle of my checked in suitcase and then refused pay for damages

A great flight. The crew was excellent too. Of particular note of excellence was the gluten-free meal which was one of the best offerings I’ve ever had on a plane. Outstanding work, BA chefs.

Bag drop in Jersey was very long. British Airways could have had more people available to check bags.

I had a great experience on this flight! The crew was extremely helpful and attentive. Seats are very comfortable and the in flight entertainment was excellent.

charging port did not work, no entertainment system. Other than that the flight was good and safe.

The onboard service was fantastic, really in a class of its own

As I said Al & AJ were absolutely the best and wow they should be recognized for their amazing service!
