Pros: "Everyone was friendly"
Cons: "Twice we sat on the ramp waiting for a gate agent to open the gate (for more than 15 minutes). They cancelled my flight and rescheduled me on an earlier one then waiting for the gate on arrival meant that they were calling me on the PA to report to the next gate when we got off of the first plane. The wifi entertainment glitched out every time the flight crew made an announcement. There was no food on either flight and only four beverage choices on a 1 hour flight. The lines were crazy long at the ticket counter in PDX (where I went to try to sort out my cancelled flight). The text assistance first said wait 30-35 minutes and then, after 20 minutes or so said that it was going to close my chat due to inactivity (but no one had responded yet, of course there was no activity). Overall, it was a very lousy experience. Pre-pandemic Alaska was usually a pleasure to fly, post-pandemic Alaska was excruciating at every turn. Quite a disappointment."

Pros: "I liked that when due to a medical reason, I was able to be given the option of rebooking my flight even though there would be a penalty and extra charges and I would need to pay the difference."
Cons: "When I called to rebook my flight within the year and about 3 months in advance of the desired date, unfortunately Latam made multiple errors and also told me that rebooking flights only are eligible for more expensive flights. Even though there were other less expensive flights that I was able to find and see online, they insisted the only flight available had a price difference of $4,000+ dollars. the original ticket was around $550 so this was absurd. Not helpful at all, how frustrating."

Also I specifically picked a seat in the last row when i bought my ticket. When i got to the gate the agent took my ticket and crossed off the seat I chose online. She wrote in seat 17B because they gave me seat away without asking me."

The seats were comfortable and we all received a flight packet that included a toothbrush, eye shades, ear plugs and a pair of socks for our comfort! Blankets and pillows were in our seats when we arrived."

They offered us a shuttle to our gate since we were running late, and then the shuttle dropped us off on the completely opposite end of the airport. We literally had to sprint across the airport with 15 minutes until our plane left, and go through security our second time where the employees were rude and not even slightly helpful. While on the plane the crew was less than friendly and short with passengers. After we landed, someone from our group was also missing their bag and was informed it was left behind in Oregon and wasn't even loaded onto the plane. Seriously the worst airport, worst crew, and worst flying experience I've ever had."

Pros: "N/A. Because of bad weather on Vancouver Island, my flight to Vancouver was delayed two hours and I missed my 230p flight to Seattle. Alaska had no other flights available from Vancouver that would get me to San Diego and other later flights that day from other airlines were over booked. I stayed the night and flew out the next morning on a direct flight to San Diego. The flight was fine. The flight crew was nice, they offered us drinks and snacks and the air condition worked. The reason I included the AC is sometimes it doesn't work and that's miserable. There's not too much else to add."

When I got to Vancouver, they said they weren't sure why I was bumped, but there were seats left on the plane. However, I had to go to the gate to change my flight because I had a checked bag. Got to the gate, and of course, it was sold out. And they told me they weren't sure if the 7:30 PM flight would be taking off. So I grabbed my bags, made my way via train/bus/hitchhiking across the American border where my dad picked me up. Never got a single reason why I was bumped in the first place."

If you don't have your boarding pass in hand, you are out of luck even though the ground crew is about 10 feet from you and can see you through the glass. The airport clocks at Lewiston airport are all 3 minutes slow, except for the clocks in the TSA area which are all 5 minutes fast. Reported to the airline and to the Airport manager, Robin Turner, who was extremely condescending and rude to our party, even though we were trying to pass on information that the Airline employees had complained about the issue for months."

It did not allow me to check in and left seats in advance or get a boarding pass. When specifically asked agent at gate for the row that had extra leg room, as my so. Is 6’4” she gives us a row where the seats do not even incline nor is there any extra room. Also the temp in Avon was high, making many passengers sweat Improve customer service !

A surprise for us was being asked if we would like to move seats from the back of the aircraft to Comfort Economy (we think it was to do with weight balance! but appreciated very much none the less). This is not customer service. Let’s not pretend. Flying American is transactional at best. I pay for transportation, the airline provides transportation (unbound by comfort and convenience)… the end. No one is there to impress or innovate, they simply just exist as part of the transportation process. Avoid if you have other options.

Worst service and zero caring attitude I’ve dealt with - and I fly a lot. It will be Delta from here on out. I went on line and filed a complaint and lost and found report - am betting a large amount of money I hear nothing other than an automated reply."
