None of the attendants even came by to check, even after repeatedl requests. 3. My 6 and 9 year old kids would like to know why they didn't get any of the courtesy toys/coloring books that were given to other similar age kids. I don't want to tell them it was due to their skin color. 4. Even a request for water turned into a tug of war after we had waited for almost 20 minutes. I finally poured it out myself."

Single. One. I have always felt as a burden to crew if I asked for extra water or an extra blanket- not on this flight, not with this crew. They came around multiple times per hour during an 8hr and 20min flight, offering various beverages and checking on everyone. I can’t thank them enough for how caring they were to everyone on board. The captain as well was very professional and had a kind spirit when he spoke. Best experience I’ve ever had- (and I travel multiple times per year!)"

Cons: "1 person working the service desk. I had a question about our connecting flight from Frankfurt and I was told to call the 1-800 number. When I went to check my bag the woman was very rude and asked me "why do I think I can check two bags?" and questioned my Star Alliance premium silver status, demanding I show her my card (I have no card). My friend was flying with me and she was told that her carry on, mind you had flown to and within europe, was too big for the overhead storage and she had to pay 90 euros to check it and the woman held her boarding pass and wouldn't give it to her. we waited in line at the service desk for over 40 minutes so that she could pay. We arrived to the airport 2.5 hours early to eat and shop for souvenirs. We barely made it in time to get to our gate because of the inefficiencies of Lufthansa. 1 person working a service desk for a large airport is unacceptable, especially when they are 8-10 waiting to scan your baggage and not helping out at all. I had a wonderful flight to Europe on Lufthansa and was absolutely appalled at the attitudes of the airport staff and their lack of customer service."

After booking a day-room at a local hotel, I checked in on-line and discovered for 115 euros I could have upgraded to business class, with luggage included, and been accommodated on schedule changes. My suggestion to Lufthansa is if they intend to rip their customers off it's best NOT TO LET THEM FIND OUT ON THEIR OWN WEBSITE, or if they're simply too incompetent to match marketing offers to their booking department they could save considerable income and reputation by closing the ticket office. As it was, the impression was a low-class money grab. It's not like they can count on their partnership with United to make them look good."

In the economy/coach cabin, they squeeze the seat distances to such an extent that, when the person in front of you leans their chair back, you cannot get out of your seat at an upright angle. You have to significantly bend your body. To not loose your balance, you have to grab on to the seat in front of you and that disturbs the other passenger. If they're sleeping, they can be woken up by that. Lufthansa does not care much for its passengers. Nor do many other companies, for that matter, but I think Lufthansa is taking things further than most airlines. It is a disgrace. Their brand is not what it once was."

Pros: "I used to fly lufthansa for my europe travel for work about 15 years ago a lot and thought in recent years it may not have been as good but these flights made me appreciate Lufthansa anew. Crew extremely helpful and polite, always followed up to any requests. Instead of barking at us like United or American crew, they went out of their way to help my daughter get a makeshift icepack for some very painful bumps she got during our vacation. Crew also kept the bathrooms clean from time to time, which was a welcome relief for such a long flight. Desk staff/service desk also was helpful in directing us during the 5 hr layover to things at the airport itself that we could do. They also helped reprint the boarding pass and write down the baggage tags when security made me lose those by separating my wallet and boarding passes into mutliple bins."

So, when I arrived at the airport and printed my boarding cards, those were seats I did NOT want and all the service desks insisted that's what I asked for. No low carb meal option was surprising. Meal service sometimes felt like too close to each other else too far apart from snacks - didn't feel like we had enough time to digest and get some sleep, while at other times we were seeking out snacks.Overall good quality of food however."

Cons: "Most of the flight attendants were nice. However, on one flight a couple of them were rude. One made a comment "you are making their job hard". I was sitting across the aisle from my mother who is 80 years old and was getting her entertainment set up since she is technically challenged. I told him that I didn't mean to make his job hard. After that, he then smiled regularly to make up for the comment. Also, one of the flights we had to buy coffee, water, or anything other non-alcohol beverage we wanted to drink. Not sure why on one flight we didn't get free beverage service when all of the other BA flights provided it."

Pros: "Although there were some problems with the arrival of the flight into Gatwick, the captain came along the cabin explaining the difficulties and offering his sincerest apologies (although it was not his fault, nor the fault of BA). This was truly a British response to something like this. Also, I paid for a seat with extra legroom and the space I had was massive - well worth the investment for a 12+ hour flight."

Cons: "Like the flight from Amsterdam to Philadelphia, the seats were extremely uncomfortable and wouldn't go back much at all. On this flight my tray was also broken so I couldn't ever put any drinks on it without them spilling everywhere. The flight attendants were the worst ones I have ever had on a flight. Very unpleasant and rude. They would barely pay attention to customers and would only gossip when they were making their rounds down the isles. One of them made an attempt to bump either my arm or my leg every time she walked paste me, not once apologizing. It was very clear that she was doing it on purpose. At one point she even kept bending over to get into one of her drawers on her cart and kept shoving her butt into my shoulder and in my face repeatedly without acknowledging me at all. I was returning from a trip overseas and my appearance was less than business casual but that is no excuse to treat me like that or any other customer riding on this airline. I enjoyed my flights with British Airways on my way to Europe. It's extremely unfortunate that these two airlines are sister companies and transfer people between them. From now on I will actively avoid taking any flights on a American Airlines unless I have absolutely no other option. Sadly, this may mean avoiding British Airways as well. It's sad when Allegiant Air offers better flights than such a reputable airline, such as this."

When I told them that the power was not working in my seat and that I needed it for my CPAP (I call it my anti-snoring device), they arranged for me to move to another seat where the power worked for the CPAP. When the power did not work in the new seat for my laptop, they offered to let me charge it in a more powerful outlet near the galley."

Pros: "Nice aircraft and comfortable seating in economy with a good selection of music and movies on the seat back entertainment. Business class was mostly empty and looked very nice and roomy. They should upgrade their frequent flyers the way other airlines do to fill those empty seats and generate the good PR that results. The food was good in my opinion, and the Ethiopian coffee is great. Affordably priced tickets was the selling point for choosing them. They are a young airline and while they go through the motions of being a modern service-oriented airline, but alas for the most part they aren't there yet."
Cons: "We've flown a few Ethiopian Air flights now and while the flight attendants are nice, they aren't always on top of things and paying attention to the needs of the passengers. Not as helpful or attentive as we're used to. Boarding is chaotic and the overnight transfer at Addis Ababa is a total mess. If you get to leave through the airport in the early morning things are relatively painless, but what a nightmare of pushing and shoving chaos when it's busy. The hotels they put you up in are mediocre at best. Last week we enjoyed a long wait for the bus ride to the hotel, cold food when we arrived, and a nice hard bed to "sleep" in. We probably won't fly Ethiopian Air if we have to overnight in Addis Ababa again. I'm willing to pay up to fly another airline and skip the overnight as it's just not worth the hassle."

There is no need for two security checks when making connections in Addis. Plane loos were all very stinky and dirty. I now remember why I had stopped using ET!"

Cons: "Flight was delayed by nearly 4 hours due to a cargo loading issue in Mombasa. Communication from Ethiopian Airlines staff regarding the issue & delay was very poor. Passengers were becoming very anxious and tense regarding the flight, if it would depart, and the safety of the plane. Improved communication from the Ethiopian Airline staff would have gone a long way to calming the situation and reassuring passengers."

They need instructions in the bathroom for how to use the toilet, how to keep it clean, how to dispose of trash, how to flush toilet paper, etc. If fly all over the world, but every time I fly from Africa it's the same mess, regardless of airline. Simple instructions would help - they cannot assume all of their clients have used flush toilets when over 80% of Africans do not have them."

Cons: "My daughter's entertainment system crashed after 20 minutes. She ended up sleeping so I watched a movie. When she woke up, we were going to switch seats, but I tried to turn it back on and mine wasn't working. (By the end of the flight, only maybe 10-20% were using theirs as many others crashed as well.) The food was very boring. At one point I was looking for a flight attendant and couldn't find a single one anywhere in coach."

Cons: "Customer service was horrible. Cancelled a trip within 24 hours of booking but put me through hours of waiting on the phone for assistance and still charged a 300 dollar fee. Our ticket was somehow suspended BY THEM so we had to call an office in a different country to unsuspeND then we were able to cancel. No help at all and kept dodging responsibility and forwarding the problem to other offices. Would book a different airline to avoid unneeded stress."
