Great flight, arrived early.....perfect
Online check in the night before made boarding easy. Free check in of luggage at the gate was also offered. Crew offered drinks twice. Wish they would give food like they used to instead of selling it. On board entertainment was good & worked well. Surprised that it was a full flight but it was comfortable. Boarding and deplaning was organized and check in luggage came out promptly!
Cons: "Late departure as YVR would not allow us to land due to weather. Late arrival as YVR would not allow us to land as too many flights in the pattern."
Cons: "Entertainment system issues throughout the entire aircraft. The audio jacks in my entire row were inoperable."
Pros: "The crew was very nice and helpful"
Cons: "I got charged for bags from Fort Lauderdale to Toronto than Toronto to Halifax"
Cons: "if the flight is on time. I was delay more than 10 hours"
Cons: "The flight was late arriving, so consequently we had to pay a taxi to hotel, as shuttle had finished for the night. Air Canada staff let people know 10 mins prior to boarding that we needed the app to view movies in-flight. Most people couldn't download quick enough, & airport Wifi was not optimal"
Pros: "One flight attendant in particular. Wish I knew her name to commend her. Also, had a bassinet for my grandson!! Frequent beverages offered, especially water. Allowed to move seats once in the air!! Able to help my daughter with her baby. Chicken dish was actually really good."
Cons: "No movie screens at all!? Odd; especially for an International flight. Check bathroom paper supplies more frequently. Ran out of paper towels two bathrooms. No fault of yours, but the Venice airport was a nightmare. I am use to airports in the US and was shocked how long the line was to get through to our gate. We couldn’t even find the end because it wrapped around like an “S”. Surprised we had to print our boarding pass (but was never asked for it); couldn’t do a mobile boarding pass."
Pros: "Thank goodness there was lots of room on this plane, makes it much nicer"
Cons: "Old plane, and business class is just ok. So sad that Air Canada is only flying this route with Rouge... they just are ok. Boarding was a gong show - they blocked off the area with little posts to keep people organized and were boarding a big flight to Tokyo right beside us. Horrible."
Pros: "The flight attendants were not kind to the customers and treated us like they were doing us a favor by working on the flight."
Cons: "The flight attendants at one time actually were talking about other passengers, who happened to be of Chinese descent like they weren't even there. Like they did not understand English. Just rude"
Cons: "They wouldn’t wait 10 minutes for us to arrive on our incoming flight."
Cons: "Again very disappointed. No food, no flight monitoring and no tv access. Felt very "cheep". Cop o see idea far far better."
Pros: "Flight was ok overall. Staff were nice."
Cons: "I don't think there was enough crew on board to serve all the passengers. Water was only offered once. I did get to watch free movies from Vancouver to Toronto. However, you had to pay for entertainment from Toronto to Costa Rica"
Cons: "Delay in YUL...5 mins turned into 60...almost missed travel in SJO to final destination"
Pros: "Once on plane all OK"
Cons: "Check in unhelpful to being rude by ignoring people and avoiding getting advice from higher ups. Worst service I Have experienced in 60 years of air flight three times a year ,at least"
Pros: "Everything else was great"
Cons: "No movies"
Pros: "Disable passenger here. They were very helpful and accommodating"
Pros: "We were given a $10 meal voucher in Toronto for the 2hr delay, nothing was done for us in windsor after waiting close to 5 hours."
Cons: "Flight was delayed from Windsor to Toronto for hours the. Again from Toronto to San José."
Cons: "My flight was at 6 am and I fell ill with strep throat the morning of. I had not gotten flight cancellation insurance so I had no choice but to board the flight while feeling sick. The illness got rapidly worse and before I knew it I had a fever and was nauseous and dizzy and was overall feeling terrible. For the first half of the flight I tried to sit through it, but it became too much as I was squished into a middle seat and was overheating extremely due to the fever and started to get overwhelmed and felt claustrophobic. At this point I decided that I could not wait out the rest of the flight in this middle seat so I went to talk to the flight attendants to ask to be moved to a seat with more space. Now, I had not slept at all the night before (because I had to take the bus to the airport at 2 am) and felt very overwhelmed with being so sick and so when I went to talk to the flight attendant I started to cry and told them I was feeling claustrophobic and wished to be moved to a seat with more space because I was very ill. I emphasized that I was sick and had to repeat this many times, but the flight attendants seemed to think I was having an anxiety episode even though I repeated many times that I was very sick. It took them HALF AN HOUR to find me a new seat. I spent this time standing while I felt extremely dizzy like I was going to pass out. I feel the situation was handled very poorly. Two of your flight attendants started trying to counsel me on anxiety and seemed to completely disregard the fact that I was extremely ill and that was causing me to feel claustrophobic (to put things in perspective, I spent the next 3 days unable to move from my dads couch, unable to eat anything, and had to be taken to the hospital because I could not even drink water). The illness started right before I was getting on the plane and at the time of boarding I had no idea how quickly it would get so bad. As an example of how poorly this was handled, one of the flight attendants handed me a pen and told me to "name my anxiety, and why I was feeling anxious and to write reasons that this may make me feel anxious" it was ridiculous. Here I was, about to pass out I was so dizzy and it took them half an hour to find me a new seat (I understand that the flight was very full but there were empty seats available). I kept repeating, I feel dizzy, I feel nauseous, I'm very sick, I need to sit down, please find me a seat and they spent half an hour trying to give me a therapy session on anxiety. I am extremely unhappy with this experience and feel like it was dealt with terribly by the staff on board. When a customer says I'm very ill with a fever and it's causing them to feel claustrophobic and they need to be moved to a seat with more room, the staff should not spend half an hour trying to counsel them on anxiety while the customer is standing there about to pass out. This experience made me feel like I wish to avoid traveling with Air Canada in the future."
Pros: "Flight was bearable"
Cons: "Small uncomfortable chair. Unappetizing snacks"
Pros: "Smooth flight."
Cons: "An hour late leaving due to lack of gate staff. Employee called for help but was slow coming to help. Father with a little child insisted that he needed to reclining his seat so very cramped. (He had an empty seat beside him)"
Pros: "Seats were fairly comfortable. Crew on flight from Toronto to San Jose were friendly. Crew on home flight very aloof."
Cons: "Did not know you should pre book food. They ran out. Very frustrating. Said they had breakfast food and snacks. All that was left by the time they got to our seats were chips and nuts. And they didn’t seem to care. Entertainment worked better on way back. Could not get it going on way there, even with crew assistance. Line ups for check in in San Jose were crazy. Over 40 minutes."
Pros: "Everything else was fine/standard."
Cons: "Not all ground staff are crosstrained on how to accept manual payment for extra luggage and had to wait an extra half hour for the only person who can process a debit transaction. Does not make sense..."
Pros: "we had a very good seating distance in row 15"
Cons: "the cabin service was simply bad: very limited meal offerings, drinks were not cold, flight attendants were pretty arrogant."
Pros: "The crew is always tops. Despite being out of coffee, they were good-natured and funny and kind."
Cons: "My seat was super uncomfortable for some reason. Maybe the cushion was coming off? I couldn't adjust it because the guy next to me was so tall and taking up so much room (not his fault!) So anyway my butt totally fell asleep because this weird hard line/bar was poking me."
Cons: "Employees very poorly trained in dealing with problems. While our flight was okay, the previous flight was overbooked and a number of transferring customers were bumped because their flight was late. I understand this is common practice, but the employees handled it VERY poorly, even yelling at the passengers when they voiced their dismay at what was going to be a very long layover after a very long international flight."
Pros: "The entertainment options were good and the fight crew was friendly and helpful."
Cons: "The delays and lack of information in the boarding process are unacceptable - this occurred on my trip from Montreal to Paris as we as the return trip. Passengers feel like cattle being herded."
Pros: "At least there were individual tv's. The choice of movies was horrendous."
Cons: "Where to start. The first flight was canceled because the morning crew never showed up. The second flight was delayed 4 hours. The food was atrocious, there was no room and the seats were godawful. The flight attendants were nice but the gate agents were no help at all and terribly rude."
Pros: "Comfortable seats with good entertainment system"
Pros: "I got to where I needed to go... 3 hours later"
Cons: "My flight was delayed by almost 3 hours. And my luggage got left in Toronto and I went 2 days without it. I tried to contact the company that was delivering it and could not reach them all day. Air Canada never offered to compensate me at all and now I will have to chase them down for compensation."
Cons: "Flight was more than hour delayed. When it hit the turbulence zone it was insanely scary. I know it's nobody's fault but leaves bad felling about the flight."
Pros: "Everything went smoothly & everyone was helpful"
Cons: "Nothing every thing went well"
Pros: "The people at the front desk in gander were great"
Cons: "There were delayed at every stop. I had a 9 hour delay because the flight attendant had food poisoning. How was there not a replacement?"
Pros: "The counter employees as well as the people who helped me navigate the airport ( I am disabled) were very helpful."
Cons: "The crew on the plane seemed very overburdened and somewhat annoyed by passengers. Maybe they were having a challenging day. I don't know. I didn't even want to ask for a glass of water."
Cons: "Several hours late due to repairs, despite the plane originating from Air Canada's hub. Seems they should have had a spare available to not delay us the several hours that they did. As I live 2 hours from the airport, it was not until I got there to check in that I was aware of the delay."
Cons: "Multiple delays, slow employees at desk, employees had attitudes when they were asked questions."
Pros: "Seat were comfortable (however the struggle is when you have someone with long legs behind you...)"
Cons: "Entertainment was using the app, they could have had a sign at the gate so those of us that didn't have it could have download it before boarding."
Cons: "This is not an Air Canada flight, is a Rouge flight, meaning there is no service, no screens, not even blankets on board. I didn't know that until after confirming my reservation, and it makes all the difference. For a low cost flight, the service is ok, but it shouldn't be advertised as Air Canada at all."
Pros: "The lady at the counter was very pleasant when she realized my dad had forgotten his wallet and offered him to put him on next flight if I didn't make it back in time with his wallet, I liked how she had made him feel better by showing him grace and mercy that his mistake was fixable."
Cons: "At SFO it is always a mess when you take a flight because you can either be in International terminal - that would be logical, since this is a us Canada flight but at other times you need to go to the united ticket counter instead (even though I get sent between the counters often I can't remember if this is terminal 3) - The lady in line was trying to get my dad to leave this line to go to the other counter line without asking about his specific flight, it caused an argument in my travel party because they thought she was right and I insisted we stay in this line. The lady didn't even acknowledge what I was trying to say and kept telling my dad to go to the other terminal when we were at the correct one. There is nobody that can seem to tell you which terminal to go to prior to arriving at the airport so it doesn't help when someone provides misinformation at the airport while in line. Travel can already Be stressful."
Pros: "- entertainment system - drinks selection"
Cons: "- could not purchase food - delays"
Cons: "Two three-hour delays made my trip from Dublin home pretty exhausting. No compensation offered for meals."
Pros: "Great short flight"
Pros: "quick enough flight"
Cons: "no in-flight entertainment, not power outlets, lack of leg room"
Pros: "there was in flight entertainment, had power outlets, and usb ports in each head rest"
Cons: "snack option was lackluster"
Pros: "Comfort of seats and spaciousness of the plane"
Cons: "Agent off loaded me and only me from return flight with zero reason. Second flight I was put on was delayed 2 hours. Sat for 5 hours in the airport for a 1 hour domestic flight. Customer service was terrible. Emailed Air Canada 4 days ago and have yet to recover any response."
Cons: "Plane edges were rather dirty with lots of debris. A little gross."
Pros: "Overall everything was good during the whole flight."
Cons: "There is not anything that I can say that was wrong with this flight"
Cons: "Flight was delayed for over 4 hours due to Air Canada fault, no crew at the gate to provide updates, forced to gate check all carryons, missed connection AND rebooked connection. Canada was lovely, too bad I can't say the same about Air Canada."
