We couldn’t check-in online. Even though it was booked through American Airlines, none of my AA benefits carried over. The Wi-Fi and entertainment didn’t work the entire flight. The flight crew said something about a voucher but I didn’t hear anything else about it.

Annoying that every short flight is delayed over 40 minutes consistently . Why am i taking a 1 hour flight when it becomes two hours plus airport and uber time? Maybe we should all just drive??

Great experience

The worst costumer service

Like: entertainment, stewardess were nice Dislike: delayed flight, shuttle was inconvenient

Pros: "Crew was great. Seat was perfect."
Cons: "N/A"
Pros: "The crew was very hospitable."
Cons: "N/a"
Cons: "Too many people on flight during Covid"
Cons: "Two very sick people were allowed to fly and were not denied boarding during these times of Covid19. We actually had to taxi back to terminal to remove a very sick passenger. JetBlue #100 March 17, 2020 10:12 pm from Los Angeles to Fort Lauderdale."
Cons: "Despite the delay of almost 3 hours (which we were informed much earlier than getting to the airport at) the plane was 40% empty so can’t complain at the end of the day"
Cons: "The customer service at LAX was horrible. The workers seemed to lack people skills and it everyone in line noticed it."
Cons: "Movie selection was minimal at best and my tv screen kept malfunctioning. Volume and brightness would turn all the way up or just shut off completely"
Pros: "Nice crew, nice plane"
Pros: "It was a smooth flight"
Cons: "More food options"
Pros: "The crew was very friendly and helpful. It was a red eye flight and they were extremely accommodating to letting everyone try to rest."
Cons: "The only thing that could have been better was laying flat to sleep in the mynt section of the plane. #goals :)"
Cons: "Comfortable seats, courteous flight crew. Easy boarding and organized."
Pros: "It was my first experience & I couldn’t had enjoyed it more ! Words can’t explain"
Cons: "Nothing everything was great"
Cons: "Add Subtitles to the movies at list in English thanks Tzach"
Pros: "Non stop flight, complimentary snacks, in flight entertainment, wifi"
Cons: "Free"
Pros: "Efficient and good overall in terms of WiFi, service, etc."
Cons: "After exiting plane we asked a crew member (possibly a JFK employee) where our gate checked stroller was (it wasn’t in the bridge where it normally would be). He said it would be at baggage carousel 4. Our flight’s carousel was 2. The stroller never came. JetBlue employee had to get for us 1+hr late"
Cons: "Freezing cold"
Pros: "Jet Blue planes are always great. Super clean and comfortable."
Cons: "They should have scheduled pistols for our flight. We had to delay the flight for two hours until they arrived."
Cons: "Great Airline... Need more options to select in Complimemtarry Healthy Snacks ..."
Pros: "The Hawaiian themed meal/snacks"
Cons: "More free entertainment!"
Cons: "the only discomfort is trying to sleep"
Cons: "30 min delay"
Pros: "Free wifi, free TV, full sized sodas and unlimited snacks. Not to mention the free mini hot towel they give you towards the end of the flight. I'll be flying jetblue from now on"
Pros: "The attendants were super sweet. I had hurt myself before the flight (nothing caused by the airline) and they were very accommodating. One of the workers pushed me in a wheelchair to luggage, which was super helpful. First time flitting on Jet Blue and it was a very positive experience."
Cons: "There is a control on the armrest and I accidentally messed with my boyfriends controls (lowered the volume). Also, the touchscreen needs to be a bit more sensitive. I tried pausing the movie I was watching and it forewarned the movie. I tried to find the spot I was at but while pausing (announcements during the trip) it kept forwarding so I have up on that movie. Minor annoyance."
Pros: "The flight crew was very nice"
Cons: "The fact that I was 3 minutes late to check my bag (due to a line and walking to the wrong counter the first time) and they would not allow me to go on my original flight and route my bag on another flight. This resulted in me and my bag getting pushed on two new flights and my overall travel time going from 4.5 hrs to 11 hrs which with a 15 month old is an eternity. Many other airlines will allow you to make exceptions when checking in late (I was still nearly 40 minutes prior to flight departure) and let me still check a bag OR allow me and my baby to stay on the same flight without the bag."
Pros: "Smooth, great service, free wi fi that really works and lots of free snacks and water which nowadays may seem like a real perk."
Cons: "Everything was great!"
Pros: "The flight itself was fine. Food pricey but good enough. Seats are comfortable. WiFi is intermittent. Cabin crew basically OK."
Cons: "Contradictory and incomplete texts about a 1.25 hour delay in departure time. Text should say to arrive at original time. Almost missed the flight because text did not say that. Got 2 different texts within minutes, one with incorrect info. Why did I have TSA Pre-Check status on the originating flight but not on the return flight? Not enough overhead space, and cabin crew wasn’t helpful in finding space. Flight 30 minutes late, but probably not JetBlue‘s fault."
Cons: "I got to the airport just to find out that the airline cancelled this flight. I had to repurchase an already paid for flight Again! $1019!!"
Pros: "N/A"
Cons: "All"
Pros: "Decent leg space in economy"
Cons: "The cabin was too cold, and no hot drinks were available due to a malfunction. Blankets ran out."
Pros: "How you can get up and grab your own snack instead of keep asking for one."
Cons: "I had to ride a 6hr flight with no TV or music that didn’t work the whole flight. I told the flight attendant three times who wasn’t much helped or felt it wasn’t important enough. I eventually got pissed and left it alone."
Pros: "I LOVED the comfort of the ample seating space and leg room, compared to American and free WiFi and movies with the individual monitors on the seat backs for every passenger. I flew Jet Blue on my return flight from LA to Boston to attend our son’s USC graduation. The flight from Boston to LA was on an American Airlines flight. The seats were super narrow with very cramped leg room. To add insult to discomfort , I learned just after take off on the American flight to LA that our dogs got loose at home and the person caring for them was frantic. I had to purchase in flight WIFI ($16/ hour $18 for the entire flight) to attend to the Lost dog issue (hugely stressful) only to learn after the flight that $300 worth of fraudulent charges occurred during the flight that my bank’s fraud department claims occurred as a result of entering my card information to purchase the internet access. That depleted the majority of our travel budget. (We live paycheck to paycheck and had pinched & saved to be able attend this special event) I was so apprehensive on the returning flight and can’t describe my relief to learn the WIFI was free. My fears dissolved as did my aching head and back as I settled into a wonderfully comfortable seat with far more leg room than my prior flight. Thanks Key Blue! You have a fan for life!!"
Cons: "Not one thing I didn’t like!!!!"
Pros: "Crew was friendly and attentive, boarding was effortless on a full flight; appreciated free snack and no push back when I wanted two."
Cons: "I resent the fact that I have to pay for the earbuds to watch “free” movies. That should be complimentary since I am sure very few people would need it due to wide spread personal use of those. For some of us, older, we do not necessarily walk around with “hip”earbuds."
Pros: "Nice comfortable seats with great options for entertainment. Unfortunately I only have iPhone headphones and didn’t even think about them not fitting the jack. I just watched in subtitles. Left on time and Arrived 35 mins early"
Cons: "Wanted to check a bag. Arrived early but no one was available to help till 4am. I was the first person in line and was told to go to the service desk. I waited at the service desk for 20 minutes before the same man I originally talked to came over to help only after a very long line of people accumulated. Only two people were working and the customer service was very poor."
Pros: "The flight was on time. Boarding was easy. The flight attendants came around with waters twice which was great as it was dry in flight."
Cons: "Nothing"
Pros: "Entertainment was great! Great selection of movies!"
Cons: "The earbuds are terrible, I personally don't do well with that style - i would do research to see what the most universal type head phones are used because these were the worst. Also the control to my entertainment was on the right side, where the middle person kept changing my channels and volume. I would have liked for it to be on maybe the left side where no one else could touch it. (I sat at a window seat) The guy next to me fell asleep and so it was super hard to get to my controller (although there is one on the computer, he was still messing with it with his elbow)."
Pros: "Everything was splendid as usual. Except for the flight attendant "serving" the bulkhead, which costs an extra $90. He consistently effectively told us to shove it when we needed the slightest thing. Never had a bad experience w/ JetBlue employees at any time. My two seatmates suffered the same rudeness, in addition to a broken tv."
Cons: "Only the aforementioned flight attendant. rkbarnettphd"
Pros: "I like only 1 thing wi - fi is working good."
Cons: "I don’t like anything. It’s a worse airline ever i take I would like to suggest never ever fly with jet blue . I go through so many problems so rude employees working at help desk . Especially steven he said he is supervisor then he says he is only shift leader instead of helping he just talking so mean guy . This is really a big story i try to put in small words ...i fly with them on march 2nd LAX to JFK my finale destination is amritsar in India because of their fault i miss my next flight . The lady help me in morning she is very mean i wanna talk to supervisor she say I’m supervisor but she is only shift leader.i forgot her name . When steven told me he is supervisor i was like"
Pros: "The crew. The plane. The space. Everything"
Cons: "I forgot my headphones so it was a bummer to have to buy them but other than that everything was amazing! I love Jet Blue!"
Pros: "Leg room because I sat next to the emergency exit"
Cons: "Everything except leg room. First, your team never offered beverages. When I asked them about it, they said that they didn't want to wake anyone ... really? Like the whole plane? It's a red eye flight ... I'm sure most would take at least a water. Meanwhile First Class was served every two minutes for everything they wanted ... and us folks that make up the rest of the plane ... we don't count? So, everyone basically went to the fridge to get drinks. Water wasn't even offered ... huh? Also, your seats were ridiculously crammed ... extremely uncomfortable. Other than that, I'm glad we made it to New York."
Cons: "Jet Blue didn’t transfer my baggage to the company which I would fly with after, and if the office didn’t call me I would have my luggage lost. Not to mention that I had to stay caring it around the airport for 13 hours, until the time of my next flight."
Pros: "I arrived 3 hours early and was able to switch to an earlier flight."
Pros: "Everything"
Cons: "Nothing"
Pros: "Everything was on time. The plane was clean. Most importantly there is more leg room of Jet Blue than on all. the other carriers."
Pros: "the seats were more comfortable than many other airlines, the snacks were more plentiful. I only saw one flight attendant doing anything in coach, he kept very busy and was pleasant. There was a female attendant around but I did not see her doing anything - maybe she was first class."
Cons: "First, the pre-boarding announcements were very difficult to hear and understand. The attendant spoke way too fast so that combined with the lack of clarity of the speakers made it almost impossible to understand what was being said. I have a hearing impairment so I need my husband to tell me but he too had trouble understanding the announcements. This was somewhat true during the announcements on the plane also, but less of a problem there. Let's face it, the audio systems really make things sound garbled so it is very important to speak clearly and slowly enough. I don't know how I could travel alone."
Pros: "Never again will jet blue get a penny from me - worst flights ever !!!!!"

No seat assignment. Was put in the absolute last seat in the plane. Flight was delayed because of an electrical issue which also broke the AC until we were taxi-ing. It was hot.

There was an enormous line at LAX trying to check in and check bags. Fortunately the staff were accommodating and allowed us to check our bags even after the deadline had passed -- but it was definitely an extremely stressful experience!

Seats were narrow and uncomfortable ( business ) and there was only one toilet for both business and premier…. The one up front was blocked as it was solely for the crew …. One always had to wait in line with 3/4 people in front of you ..at minimum….. while you waited , the crew made it clear that you were in their way …. Fair enough as we had to stand partially in the galley…

We flew First Class to LA from Denver on the Delta-branded contract airline - Sky West. On the way back, we flew First Class on a Delta Airlines owned jet, and the experience was so much better. The flights should have been comparable; but unfortunately cost-cutting by Sky West was evident.

The terminal on my ticket was different than the gate number. We went through security and had to take a 15 min shuttle to a different terminal. Why not just go through security there? There were also no attendants at the gate to discuss seat assignments. My husband and I didn’t have seats together. Try on board crew was great, but the airport experience was lacking.

Pros: "Crew"
Cons: "More arm space and leg room for cabin"
Pros: "Easy boarding and very nice crew"
Cons: "Food"
Pros: "yes"
Pros: "Delta is the airline to fly if you have to fly (like I did) during a pandemic. They made sure at every turn we felt as safe as possible. They had passengers distanced from each other the whole time, handed out sanitizing wipes as we walked on the plane, made sure folks kept their masks on, gave us individual little baggies with snacks and water bottles that also had individual hand sanitizer packets. I felt so much more safe flying Delta on my way home to Hawaii in July than I did when I flew American Airlines on my way to the mainland in June."
Cons: "not the cleanest seat/tray table"
Pros: "Great crew, comfy seats and efficient boarding!"
Pros: "They left the bags at LAX. We we’re driving to Sun Valley and don’t have our ski clothes and equipment"
Cons: "Get our bags to us in the morning"
Cons: "Nothing, really. Airlines unfortunately can’t make people patient or polite, & I can’t afford a private jet, so I’ll have to settle for an eye roll or twelve."
Pros: "Entertainment"
Cons: "Flight wasn't full. I could have been seated somewhere else since passenger next to me was quite large and invading my personal space"
Cons: "No hubo comida suficiente"
Cons: "Bathroom floors could be better."
Cons: "Good"
Cons: "uncomfortable seats, thin seat cushions"
Pros: "Flight crew was ok and boarding was really quick"
Cons: "Terminal 2 security at LAX is awful and inefficient Also plane had a malfunctioning switch and it took them 1.5 hrs to fix while we are on the plane. This was 1.5 hrs delay on a 58 minutes flight. :("
Pros: "N/a"
Cons: "Explain why there’s over a 2 hour delay"
Pros: "best meal ive had in so long service was great the captain anniuncements were clear and detailed"
Cons: "Flight was 20 minutes delayed"
Cons: "... on top of that I kindly requested to speak with a supervisor and i was denied it. As a customer I deserved that. I would a ticket with Aerolineas and nowhere it said it was delta. I followed the baggage allowance explained on kayak website and on Aerolineas Argentinas. I took a bicycle which is free and i pay $100 to packed it as Aerolineas wanted. When I arrived it was a Delta flight and they told they don't allow bicycles and that i had to play $150. Aerolineas website and kayak clearly says that bicycles were free on my flight. I show the agent my ticket and that no where it said delta to consider what he was saying since it is an alliance but i was not informed about it. He said no and after wait there for a while before boarding i kindly ask to speak with a supervisor and the denied it and disappeared. I request a refund of my fee to you for providing incorrect information."
Cons: "N/A"
Pros: "We boarded close to on time, no hassles. Allowed my husband and me (retired military) to board early, thank you."
Cons: "LAX security is awful. We never left the airport (arrived LAX from Sydney AU) yet were forced thru security again. Had to remove shoes, was scanned and "frisked" by TSA to get to Denver. To go to Australia, Denver TSA waived the removal of shoes, skipped the scan for the metal detector and no one touched me, ditto for LAX on the trip to Sydney. Where's the uniformity or standards for TSA?? Why did I have to be subjected to this garbage on the way home?? This is why I despise flying. It makes no sense to me. This ruined what was a great vacation."
Cons: "It was a late flight and didn't see the flight crew much at all"
Cons: "We had to wait at the customs for nearly 1.5hrs, then pick up our luggage, then check in again!!! We were running and got on the plane 10 mins before the departure. Super stressful!!"
Cons: "-"
Pros: "I was given an upgrade to a exit row seat so I could stretch out which nice since this was a connection from Sydney so I’d been flying for 14 hours already. The entertainment was excellent and the inflight messaging was wonderful. The staff was friendly and helpful. And the biscoff cookies are amazing."
Cons: "The seats need a cushion."
Pros: "The flight was nearly full, but I lucked out. One person in my row did not show up, so myself and the other lady in my row had the benefit of having an open seat in between us. The crew was cheerful and accommodating. They did the normal beverage service, but also brought complimentary water and coffee 3x during the rest of the flight. This was greatly appreciated, especially after 5 days of drinking and partying. My buddies and I spent two and a half days in Las Vegas for a bachelor party followed by two days in the LA area for a wedding (yes we did it Hangover style) :) Thank you Delta!"
Cons: "My only complaint was that the flight was delayed out of LAX by about 30 minutes due to the flight in-bound being delayed. However, the captain made up most of this time in the air so it ended up being a non-issue."
Pros: "Boarding was on time and the process was efficient."
Cons: "The flight attendant could not serve coffee or tea due to "no potable water" onboard! The electric outlets at each of our first class seats were not functional, both the USB ports and the electric plugs did not work so we were not able to charge our phones during the flight. When I mentioned this to the flight attendant her response was that she had not received a report that the electric was not working. No other assistance was offered. There was very little legroom even though these were sold as first class seats. The plane was old and dirty, the armrests were sticky."
Pros: "I liked the fact that were were able to watch movies complementary, staff was very kind and looked good and for the most part the air craft was spacious than United Airlines"
Cons: "I disliked the fact that their weren’t any charging station, I wasn’t able to to charge my telephone device previously but I thought I would be okay sonce air crafts that I have boarded have out lets to charge devices, was an inconviencesince I wasn’t anle to contact family. Also there was complementary movies to watch but there werent any head phones that were given, united aire lines provided us with head phones for entertainment."
Pros: "The attendant was most helpful. Because the flight was not full, she allowed us to sit in the exit row, window and aisle, with no one between. I'm a tall person, so the extra leg room was deeply appreciated. I give her and the airline high marks."
Pros: "Food was ok."
Cons: "Flight attendants could have been a little more friendly and helpful."
Pros: "Had to cross terminals and the pathway was closed due to an international flight landing (poor planning on LAX part) so had to exit and reenter terminal through TSA. Flight delayed an hour then cancelled due to control panel failure. 10pm flight became 12am bus (and originally told it was 11.15pm bus which was "stuck in traffic" when google map traffic was all green). Got back to SD 4 hours after scheduled time."
Cons: "My registered luggage was sent LAX->MDE and i had a short change in MEX. Running out of the LAX->MEX plane, the crew the said: "don't forget to pick up your luggage".. and then all went pairshaped. One member of MEX staff claimed the baggage is going directly to destination, another said that it won't and i need to pick it up myself and do god knows what with it. LAX->MEX flight delayed by 30mins, 1hr change time. Everybody relaxed just me loosing all my boozy contraband as i had no choice but to put my registered luggage thru security."
Pros: "Outlets to charge your phone and watch movies."
Cons: "It wasnt specified which terminal to go to Aeromexico or delta. Going both ways. I had to pay a 40 dollar taxi to get me to the correct terminal .5 a mile away. And leaving in the early morning it was too dark and they convinced us it was unsafe and a 35 min walk. It’s def would be that long of a walk in Mexico since we had no idea where we were going."
Pros: "Tons of free entertainment on the screen in front of your seat! Movies, games, and details on your flight, all available on your touch screen. USB charging is also available."
Cons: "No one told us they wanted everyone with a roller carry-on to.check their bags. An attendant told my sister that her bag needed to be checked. We did not receive this notification until we were at the gate, boarding."
Pros: "The flight was on time."
Cons: "This was an almost 6 hour long flight, LAX to OGG. The aircraft was older and for a 6 hour flight, they really should use a bigger and newer aircraft. The entertainment systems on the back of the seat worked sporadically and the PA system was too loud and every time the PA system was used while we had our headsets on, it was excruciating We had no warning in order to remove our headsets before it blasted into our ears. We were amazed that after paying a considerable sum for our tickets and being in the air for 6 hours, there was limited meal service and we were required to purchase a sandwich in order to eat. I fly Delta frequently and this was by far the worse flight I can remember."
Cons: "To be clear, I do not have an issue with overweight people. That being said, I was put in an extremely uncomforatable position on this flight. My seatmate was a woman who easily weighed 400 pounds without the slightest exageration and was 5'7 at best. She carried all of her weight in her midsection and behind, which was truly uncomforatable for us both. As she attempted to squeeze into the aisle seat it became apparent that with the armrest down it was not going to happen. She raised the armrest and finally maneuvered into her seat and part of mine also. Not only was her bottom in my seat but her stomach was resting on my entire right leg. It felt like a toddler was sitting on my lap. This was beyond uncomfortable and embarrassing for us both as it was clear that she knew how intrusive this was and kept apologizing. My leg went to sleep after about 15 minutes so I asked to be let out. I approached the flight attendent and requested that my seat be changed to which she responded that the flight was full. I know it wasn't because I could see an empty seat about four rows in front of me. Finally I sat back down but every 15 minutes or so she would get uncomforatable and get up to stretch. The first time it was a welcomed break, until she came back and flopped in her seat with so much force that it felt like someone had ran and jumped in my lap. This occurred 4 or 5 times during the flight. I am not sure what the policy is for obese passengers, but it should be relooked. As a passenger I should not be put in a position to address another passengers weight. I also should not have to pay for a seat and only get to use 2/3 of it. Lastly, no one should ever be allowed to put their body parts on top of another persons lap and that be considered ok."
Pros: "The flight was quick and quiet with a kind crew and captain that had a great smile."
Cons: "I didn't like the food."
Pros: "Crew was very good and nice on the flight"
Cons: "Flight terminal was changed about 30 to 45 minutes before boarding Flight was delayed due to AC problem Configuration of the plane was terrible. Little leg room but the windows did not align with the seats so a window was shared with two rows making it challenging to open or close a window without disturbing the passenger in the other row with whom the window is being shared. No charging outlets in the terminal or on the plane. Plane had no food to offer for purchase. Expected better from Delta."
Pros: "The flight attendants were very helpful and been nice."
Cons: "I didn't like that my delta studio screen did it work. I had to find other ways to pass the time for 5 hours"
Pros: "Hassle free left on time arrived early San Jose nice airport and drive to red wood city picturesque Staff friendly and cookies great"
Cons: "On this occasion I actually enjoyed it all"
Pros: "My Delta flight was a code share with Virgin Atlantic. A pleasant flight overall with my first impression being an airline with current popular music playing in the background and flight attendants cheerful. Since I was traveling alone, I opted to not purchase my seat prior to my flight date, instead I chose my aisle seat within 24 hours for free. I checked in my one bag and found out I had pre-checked so my security check went so smooth at the new terminal 2 at LAX. Looking forward to my flight back on June 15."
Cons: "Had a toddler behind me crying and screaming the last 40 minutes of landing into Heathrow because she couldn't sit on her mother's lap and made it quite unbareable for all of us in the vicinity. Wondering if there was an alternative way to handle the situation."
Pros: "Seating was nice...comfortable. Lighting was good, captain wasn't too chatty :)"
Cons: "This flight attendant was just terrible. Wish I could remember her name for this review... She had about half of the First Class cabin offended as soon as meals started getting served - I didn't see ANYONE around me that got what they asked for, and then when people stated the issue, she didn't respond very well. I tried to take things in stride (first world problems?) but it is a bummer to pay extra for the first class treatment and then to not have that great experience, especially on back to back 5ish hour flights."
Pros: "Worst experience ever."
Cons: "While my experience with Virgin Australia was good, I will not book with them due to the co-share with Delta Airlines. I missed my connecting flight from LAX to JFK due to additional security screening. As such I was advised to head to the Delta terminal to be booked onto the next available flight to NYC. After waiting over an hour in line to be seen by a staff member, I was told that they couldn't change my ticket as it was a Virgin flight. The same staff member didn't seem to even understand the concept of 'co-share', and also told me that because I booked through Kayak and not Delta that they could not help me. This makes me think that booking through a third party is a risky move. I was told there was absolutely nothing she could do, and that I would have go to a Virgin Australia Counter. This involved taking all of my luggage from Terminal 5 - all the way to Terminal 3. I was assisted by Virgin Australia, where they apologized for my experience, and confirmed that it was Delta's responsibility (and that they were capable) of rebooking my flight. Virgin booked me onto a later flight, but I still had to walk back to Terminal 5 (Delta) to give them my checked luggage. I was once again told that I didn't have the right ticket (details listed Virgin and Delta flight number - so this was way too confusing for them). Finally they printed my a boarding card and took my bags. I then ran through security and to gate in time for my flight. Flight was fully booked, due to a many people no doubt experiencing the same thing. Food was awful. Was a big step down from the Virgin flight in every aspect. There was not a single Delta Staff member who would even try to understand or be helpful. I will never fly with Delta again."
Cons: "I had to take different flights due to the delays."
Pros: "Smooth flight. On time. Satellite TV."
Cons: "One boarding agent for the whole plane and he was slow. Started boarding fairly early but didn't finish until 15 minutes after scheduled departure. Very cramped for 5 hour flight. Older model entertainment center. Paying for usual amenities. Crowded gate set up. Grumpy crew."
Pros: "This was a code share flight on a delta ticket but a virgin airline, the entertainment was great with the seat back selection, the seat comfy and the staff friendly."
Cons: "Firstly check in was a nightmare, travelling on a Virgin Australia Flight from LAX - BNE and a connecting flight BNE - PPP (Proserpine) all with Virgin Australia, and they claim they don't have the ability to tag your luggage the whole way through??? (I understand I have to collect it on arrival into another country and then take to a bag drop) but with the same airline they claim they can't do this? I travel a lot and with many other flights internationally and I can tag my bags with different airlines all the way through, but NOT WITH VIRGIN WITH THE SAME AIRLINE ALL THE WAY THROUGH? They can't do it? Then 2 hour delay on the tarmac after taxiing out from the gate at LAX, which got us in late to Brisbane. The food on this leg LAX-BNE for the vegetarian option was terrible, which was strange as on the fist flight over from BNE-LAX it was the best vegetarian food on any flight I've ever had. Strangely 6 months out from our flight I tried calling Delta to upgrade our tickets and was told they had no way of doing it as the Delta computer system isn't linked Virgin system. Then calling Virgin to upgrade I was told I can't as it is a Delta ticker. We tried again a week out from the flight and got the same response and told to try at check-in. We tried then at check in and told they have no idea how to do this as only so many seats are allocated to Delta tickets and they can't access the Delta system?? So very frustrating and we could never upgrade?"
Pros: "The crew were friendly and professional!"
Pros: "The exit row!"
Cons: "Snacks and working entertainment"
Cons: "Delayed and baby crying and kicking behind my seat."
Cons: "prob nothing more with in reason , could have been done - how do you eliminate fellow stupid humans ?"
Pros: "Nothing. I was not allowed to board because I was 5 minutes late for checkin and was not allowed to check in ahead of time online. I had a ticket. The plane was right on the other side of security. I had plenty of time to catch my flight if I'd had a boarding pass. Instead I had to buy a new ticket."
Cons: "Let me check in ahead of time online. Also, make it abundantly clear on the ticket and elsewhere that if I check in at the airport it has to be at least 45 minutes before departure."
Pros: "I like the price of the ticket."
Cons: "Seats were uncomfortable, staff looked like they rolled out of bed, we didn’t get any snacks only one small cup of juice for the entire flight, landing was a bit harsh. I don’t know if I’ll ever go through Sun Country again."
Pros: "More seat room than usual—very nice. Seems like a new plane."
Cons: "If the people boarding the plane had been more considerate! Some of them blocked the aisle for quite a while. The crew asked them to step out of the way, but they weren’t very responsive"
Cons: "Add in seat screen for entertainment"
Pros: "Crew was polite and friendly"
Cons: "We left about 30 minutes late"
Pros: "Left on time arrived a bit early."
Cons: "Very disgusted to learn of the new carry on cost imposed by Sun Country!! Instead of punishing everyone just enforce one reasonable carry on at the gate for those who abuse it by having oversized luggage disguised as a carry on."
Pros: "Stewardess Alisa was very attentive. She realized my disability and did all she could do to accommodate me."
Cons: "Seats too small."
Cons: "The website was really annoying - it wouldn't let me check in or pay for my baggage. Then when I called it took over an hour for someone to answer the phone. I was told if a passenger did not fly both ends of a round trip flight, we would need to pay a $50 cancellation fee for the privilege of not using the ticket we had already paid for. This is also the first airline I have flown that charges for carry ons and also charges for seat assignments during online checkin! That's right, I could have paid an extra $6 to select a middle seat in the back of the airplane! Except the online checkin system kept crashing so I never checked in online anyways. And finally the food options were horrible, the worst I have ever seen. I was really hungry, so I bought one of their snack packs (after the person at the counter assured me there would be sandwiches), and the snack pack was disgusting, even by airplane food standards. I'd prefer flying Spirit Air - at least they are up front about nickel-and-diming their customers. I'll do my best to avoid flying sun country again."
Pros: "If you’re not looking for a super boujie experience while flying this is a great choice for you. It’s quick and simple and I had no problems at all! This was my first time flying alone and I am so happy with how it turned out :)"
Pros: "Nothing"
Cons: "Sun Country website was down so I couldn’t check in. I received an error message. When I got to the airport the computers were down so the line was very long. They continued checking people’s bags and when we got to security several peopke missed the 1pm flight Lax to Minneapolis flight. When I tried to rebook the Sun country air employees scolded me and others for coming to the airport late. Long story short I bought and American airlines flight home I’ll never fly with them again... I’ll spread the word amongst my community."
Cons: "On the trip from Los Angeles to Mineapolis, I have my carry on free checked in. I forgot to take my camera out of my carry on when I left it on boarding. When I go back from my seat to take it the personnel did not allow me and instead of telling me the reason with easy English (I still cannot understand spoken English well), he talked to another personnel who might be at the place where the carry on's were. I want to know why I cannot take the camera and if the personnel's behavior is appropriate"
Pros: "In this age of Making America Great Again...people need to learn to mind their own business and just...stop. Never have I been stared down by a flight crew of white folks more in my entire life. It's a little disappointing, as this was a flight back to my home town after years of being away..and Sun Country is based there. You can feel and see the aggressive body language coming at you, so I just ignore till then point It's chrystal clear, then allm of a sudden...the body language becomes self consciousness when they realize...i am here for flight, whatever other agenda you may have has nothing to do with me and won't get my attention. You need more people of color working you flights in and out of the Midwest. There's a certain sensitivity that comes with that. Disappointed, but not surprised."
Cons: "I wasn't even offered food or a drink when the carts rolled. It was so obviously, the old white lady sittikng next to me shot the stewardess a negative glance and all of a sudden it...would you like something to drink..as an after thought. I politely declined and looked out the window and played on my Kindle the entire flight."
Pros: "This flight was inexpensive and the layover was very easy. Didn't have to pay to carry on luggage like other cheap options."
Cons: "No entertainment except movies to rent through flight attendant. Seats were uncomfortable. Airline is in the worst terminals with terrible food options."
Pros: "Flight departexmd and arrived on time, plane was ok, direct flight"
Cons: "Flught attendant kelly was very rude, asked for some water and was told service would be there in 5 min but it was at least 15, no backseat screens, no preetzels or peanuts"
Pros: "All the sandwiches they had had meat. They should have at least something besides cheese and crackers or junk food that is a vegetarian meal on flights traveling around lunch and dinner time!"
Pros: "Polite and efficient"
Cons: "Nothing"
Pros: "The staff seemed to be friendly."
Cons: "Everything else was horrible."
Pros: "Speedy check in and being a retired US Marine, I liked that we were given recognition and boarding preference."
Cons: "I was traveling alone and overall experience for 3hr 20min domestic flight... no issues!"
Cons: "There was no Sun Country sign to find where to check in. We left an hour late due to having to take a shuttle bus to our plane. The folks coming off that plane were late making us late. Everything else was great."
Cons: "Sun Country has confusing regulations about what is and is not oversize baggage."
Pros: "The friendly staff of Sun Country brought me a wheelchair both in LAX and Minneapolis. These people were warm and friendly. It may be a normal part of their job but it felt like they were really invested in my well being. My flight with Delta earlier in the year did not at all meet these expectations."
Cons: "No snacks at all (complementary)"
Pros: "Nothing"
Cons: "Everything was awful about this travel experience. I was delayed all day and my flight from MSP to JFK took almost 8 hours. They delays were due to weather which I can understand but there was absolutely no communication from the airline and had everyone including myself extremely frustrated. We landed in Stewart, NY with no warning or information. Was a nightmare."
Pros: "The paid food is great and feels reasonably priced. Thur have a pretty good and hot cheeseburger (no lettuce or tomatoes) for $5 - a real bargain considering a pre-made week old sandwich in the airport is at least $10."
Cons: "There were some delays because of snow, but what did I expect from an airline based in Minneapolis-St. Paul. They also seemed to hold my connecting flight for a little bit so I could make the connection."
Pros: "I thought the flight attendant was nice."
Cons: "Our departure was very disorganized. I was told that I'd be able to board early if I checked my carry on. Not the case."
Pros: "I changed my flight because of an emergency to the next day with no charge because of a "one time courtesy." So amazing and so thankful for that."
Pros: "Everything was great!"
Cons: "The temp in the plane on the return flight was 55 degrees and freezing but they eventually turned the heat on. That was strange."
Pros: "Sun Country is the best airline in the world -"
Pros: "On-time, the connection gate was neaby"
Cons: "The airplane from LA to Minneapolis was so old, uncomfortable seating, rough take off."
Pros: "Good prices, good friendly crew, arrived at least a 1/2 hour earlier than we were supposed to..overall excellent"
Cons: "Better snack selection other than that it was an excellent experience"
Pros: "The flight was fine. Uneventful which is wonderful. I did not eat & did not utilize the entertainment so can not comment on those items."
Cons: "My only comment is that a child was using an electronic device during the flight without headphones. It would have been appreciated if the attendants could have suggested earbuds, headphones, or at least asked that the volume be decreased out of respect for other passengers."
Pros: "Excellent price and it wasn't over booked. The flight had no food so I can't give it a 5star rating (sorry)...."
Pros: "Their alcoholic options are much better than Delta. The flight from LAX to MSP was quite smooth, only a couple instances of turbulence."
Cons: "My known traveler number did not sync with my ticket, so I couldn't go in the TSA pre check line."
Cons: "ON MY WAY BACK HOME FROM MSP AIRPORT. I GOT TO THE AIRPORT AT 2:10 PM MY FLIGHT IS AT 3:05 PM. I GOT TO THE COUNTER TO CHECK IN TO MY FLIGHT THE PERSON BEHIND THE COUNTER IS TELLING ME THAT YOU CANT CHECK IN YOU ARE LATE FOR YOUR FLIGHT. I TOLD THEM I CALLED LAST NIGHT TO CHOOSE MY SEAT I HAD CHECK IN AND THAY ARE TELLING ME NO YOU DID NOT CHECK IN. I TOLD THEM I HAVE ONE HOUR BEFORE MY FLIGHT HOW AM I LATE!! I TALKED TO THE MANAGER AND SHE IS TELLING ME THE FLIGHT IS LEAVING 10 MINUTES EARLY. I TOLD THEM NO ONE INFORMED ME THAT THE FLIGHT IS LEAVING EARLY. THEY DIDN'T LET ME GET ON MY FLIGHT. I WAS AT THE AIRPORT ONE HOUR BEFORE MY FLIGHT. I HAD TO TAKE ANOTHER FLIGHT TO SAN FRANCISCO THAN PAY $300 FOR A FLIGHT BACK TO LOS ANGELES. I REPORT THIS AIRLINE TO THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU BECAUSE THAT IS A JOKE I GOT TO THE AIRPORT 1 HOUR BEFORE MY FLIGHT AND I CANT GET ON."
Pros: "I was unable to use the ticket from LAX to MSP due to a death in my family!. I had to book another earlier flight with another airline to get home to a funeral. Unfortunately, Sun Country didn't have a flight back to MSP the day / time I needed. When I contacted the regarding my cancelation they refunded my money, no questions asked!"
Pros: "Sun Country was able to move me to an earlier flight and I really appreciated that."
Cons: "It would have been nice if the pilot would have announced what we were flying over. There was beautiful scenery that I couldn't identify."
Pros: "It started with the crew at the desk being very helpful, attentive when we came to check in. And both times, coming and going, they were this way...and friendly. This sets the tone for the rest of the trip."
Cons: "Sharing a single gate with 3 airlines leaving at the same time is I'm sure not what anyone wants. Departing time was supposed to be at 1210, instead we took a bus to I think Mexico to board the plane then we taxied the plane all the way back to LAX and took off at 218 (well documented time). I was late for work so I was let go, my wife left me and took our 4 sort of intelligent kids with her. I'm just glad I could write this review before my phone services are shut down do to lack of funds. At the end of the day things could have been worse but I'll survive. "Just keep swimming"-Dory"
Cons: "Did not eat or have entertainment on the way over so you could say NA."
Cons: "We will never fly Suncountry again. Setting up the reservations were all screwed up, right to the night before we left they lost our reservations. The seats were umcomfortably. The stewardeses were mean and unfriendly. They would argure between each other in front of us. Was asked if I wanting drink only once and never got any snacks. The temp on the plane was very warm and not comfortably. Worst expierence we ever had."
Cons: "chose seats for the fight back weeks ahead of time but when we checked in my husbands seat was moved10+ rows behind us and from an aisle to a center seat. He is 6 feet 8 inches tall, luckily there was an open exit aisle seat an they upgraded him without charge...otherwise would have been a horrible fathers day for all"
Cons: "This covers two flights - Neither left on time, neither got to the gate on time. Once the bags took 30 minutes to get to the carousel, the other time staff gave wrong carousel and several passengers sat waiting. Rude flight attendants have no desire to actually serve on-board. The entire plane smells like the McDonald's dumpster that they fish their "Cheeseburgers" out of. Nothing good to say about the entire experience and I will never fly them again. Word of advice to all flight attendants working for Sun Country: Fly somewhere as a PASSENGER on Delta and see how it's done. Take notes.....lots of them."
Pros: "Crew, on time, wheelchair service"
Cons: "Cramped seating, food"
Pros: "Friendly crew"
Cons: "Late arrival. Circling MSP due to weather"
Pros: "Sun Country has a system which promotes smooth boarding. First to board are for those with special needs requiring more time (families with kids, etc.), then the first class passengers, then those without carry-on, or who are willing to leave their carry-on as gate check, then for the first 10 rows, and then the back rows, and then everyone else. This seems to work fairly well since it minimizes jams associated with front row seating first, as well as seating those who have large carry-ons."
Cons: "The only thing is that they should emphasize more that those who board first because they do not have carry-on, but just personal bags, should place those personal bags under the seat rather than use that to board first and then take up valuable space in the overhead compartment. I saw people board first claiming only personal bags, and then they would deposit their bags towards the front in overhead compartments, or they would just put their bags sideways in the overhead--taking up twice as much space as carryon bags going in lengthwise."
Pros: "The luggage fee is reasonable. The flight was on-time. Spacious seat."
Cons: "The luggage fee is cheaper when paid on-line, but when I tried to pay on-line, an error message popped up. I ended up paying at the registered desk which is $10 more."
Pros: "the pilot seemed very nice and had a good sense of humor."
Cons: "It took a long time to get through ticketing as the line was long and there was only one person for the "non elite" passengers. The crew seemed nice except for one woman who seemed grumpy Overall excellent value for the flight. Thank you"

Everything was great. I was on a 777-300, where they have 4-class seating; I paid to upgrade to a suite in First from Business lie-flats at check-in, because it was only a couple hundred bucks, but would stay in Business next time.

Crew was nice and accommodating, but someone failed to inspect the plane before the passengers got on and we ended up deplaning and changing planes when this could have been avoided.

Cons: "Ok"
Pros: "Ok"
Cons: "Ok"
Pros: "Clean and comfortable"
Cons: "Full flight"
Pros: "yes"
Cons: "nothing"
Cons: "Upgraded to premium. Only offered cookes and drinks. Screens weren’t working for 5 hour flight."
Cons: "Flight attendant kept overhead spaces open for extra coach passengers."
Pros: "The flight crew and the captain were terrific."
Cons: "Gate agents were rude. Everybody was forced to check-in their carry on luggage due to the small plane. This information should have been shared before boarding. We were informed as we were boarding and had to scramble to remove the laptop from our carry-on and help up passengers behind us from boarding. A totally unnecessary stressful situation created by the gate agents for failing to share information. Once we got onboard we saw carry-ons larger then what we were forced to check-in. Evidently, enforcement of standards is at the gate agents' discretion."
Pros: "Boarding crew was rude an unaccomadating"
Pros: "NOTHING"
Cons: "HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE."
Cons: "Plane was 30 minutes late which was not idea because we were getting to our destination in the late evening. Boarding was a mess."
Pros: "Nothing. Have not flown American airlines for the past 15 yrs because they always managed to have mechanical problems, delays, etc. Flew with then for the first time since, and again, mechanical problems. They kept us inside the plane for two hours. Because of that delay I missed my connection."
Cons: "The hotel they put me in (Holiday Inn Airport) is like going back to the 70’s. Horrible experience overall. Needless to say, not flying American Airlines ever again."
Pros: "Everything"
Cons: "Everything was cancelled or delayed, missed connection are very common."
Pros: "Good entertainment, seats were ok."
Cons: "I paid for a seat with extra leg room and then was told at the gate that there were none of those seats left, despite the fact that I booked and paid for that seat 3 weeks ago!"
Cons: "Cabin was freezing cold. Flight on time. No major issuess"
Cons: "The service was poor and not friendly. They over sold the flight and put the stress into customers. They kept the flight so cold that I had 2 blankets and still shivering. The seats are so darn tight that the people next to me didn’t fit and I had to sit at a angle for 5 hours. What is dissatisfying is that airlines will continue to treat customers without compassion. We pay for a service and should not be yelled at when you over sell a flight and demand people to check in carry on bags."
Pros: "Awfully rude flight attendants Took multiple buses I guess American doesn’t pay good money to the airports"
Pros: "The movie selection on the flight was stellar."
Cons: "AA let me know that our flights were delayed to MIA, which would in effect, make up miss out connection to get to Kingston, Jamaica. They tried to rebook us, but for the NEXT day. So after calling, I got my ticket rebooked for an earlier flight, but I couldn’t do the same for my boyfriend’s. At the airport we requested he check in as standby, however, the rep checking us in said he couldn’t. We asked for other flights arriving on the same day at the original ticket & even looking across partner airlines, he said there was nothing. Hard to believe, but then eventually said he found something by way of Lax to AZ to MIA & then KIN that would arrive later that night. We quickly took it because it was getting late to check in for TSA for my flight, only to find out later that the ticket he printed was for arrival the next night - not at all what we agreed upon! What a waste of time, as if the money we spent on this vacation didn’t mean anything, and when I called to get compensated, I was told to write in to AA. Write in. It’s 2018. Who can I speak with to get compensated for our time & money being wasted? I understand it may not have been within AA control, however, I would have liked for them to have cared that we were inconvenienced as paying customers, instead of being told, in action & in words, that the inconvenience we were being put through (to no fault of our own) was no big deal & we should just suck up the money we are loosing as a result. Very disappointed ☹️"
Pros: "Old plane with new seats. The exit row window seat — which they rate as a preferred seat was terrible as the exit door sticks into the plane and takes away your room. And the seat doesn’t recline - they forget to say that."
Cons: "New Airplane"
Pros: "Flight crew were very apologetic"
Cons: "Missed connecting flight from Miami. Only one flight per day. Had to take a flight to an alternative location, drive for an hour down the coast and take a ferry to my final destination."
Pros: "eh, mediocre but usual service from a US airline. Just enough to get you from point A to B, but you’re exhausted once there."
Cons: "too little leg room, and quite uncomfortable seats, couldn’t relax and was cramping from being unable to move more than an inch."
Pros: "Flight attendants friendly."
Cons: "So many rows of seats crammed in and no where for people to put their bags. People from front of Llane had to go to rear to place and retrieve their luggage. Maybe space the rows a little better or retire these older planes."
Pros: "upgraded to business, which made for a nice ride home."
Cons: "seat and monitor seemed to have minds of their own, but only caused a minor inconvenience I'm frustrated with AA's information on movies, which is questionable and unrealable. For example, the recently released film 'Coco' was listed as PG-13 and not included in the "Disney" category. "Justice League" was listed as R. There are several other examples of misinformation in their movie listings. For parents who use the ratings as one piece of information to guide their children, it would be nice to have correct information when making selections. this problem is not new; it's been this way for over a year now. I hoped that over time they would get it right, but alas, it remains inconsistent at best."
Pros: "Couldn’t sleep because the AC wasnt working. Most miserable flight my life"
Cons: "The AC wasn’t working it was the most miserable flight ever"
Pros: "The low fare was the best part of the flight, but I later found that it came at a cost!!!!"
Cons: "First of all the Crew was rude and their lack of patience was obvious, the flight was delayed and was no fault of any of the passengers yet we were made to feel as if it was our ( passengers) fault. Secondly, the air was turned down, I guess to conserve fuel, and the plane was unbearably hot, And at no time was food offered for purchase or even a beverage service. I have flow AA for 20+ years and this was the FURST flight I have ever experienced. Sadly I believe it will be my last!!!!"
Pros: "ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO LIKE ABOUT THIS FLIGHT."
Cons: "Flight was delayed, the baggage was not transferred on the connecting flight."
Pros: "Courteous and efficient service, good communication from employees."
Cons: "Rude passengers reclining all the way without notice."
Pros: "Movies, clean, efficient"
Cons: "Paying of my small Checked bag"
Pros: "Entertainment, courtesy, flight attendants, and service"
Cons: "Just being confined. But that's the nature of that beast"
Pros: "Usually I take a non stop flight with LATAN from LAX to LIM. It is always great."
Cons: "This time, however, from the get go I had problems. The attendant at ticketing sent one of my bags in without removing the part of the ticket I needed. Second, the attendant at the gate took my carry-on down because she thought it was too big. I have this bag for years and I travel with it everywhere with me. Then, I could not find my carry-on in Lima and hell started. I asked one guy that had an orange apron and was helping with the bags. I told him that I did not see my carry on. He sent me to American lost baggage upstairs. I had to wait 40 minutes for the office to open. Then the woman working there was very unprofessional and rude and told me that I should have made a claim at the counter in the baggage claim area. Well, there are no signs that indicate that there is a counter where to claim your lost bags, you have to just be clarivident and know according to LATAN personnel. They found my bag and call us around 3:45PM, when they close at 5PM. Well getting to the airport before 5pm was a Mission Impossible action movie. Try getting to the airport in Lima during rush hour...finally, I got there on time to get my bag, had another encounter with another personnel that, again, attempted to blame it on me instead of doing her job efficiently and with a smile on her face...What is wrong with airlines personnel???"
Pros: "i slept though not too comfortably."
Cons: "I literally wasn't given a glass of water or any food. I fell asleep for a bit but wasn't woken to be asked if I needed anything when they came around with the carts. It was a 5 hr flight."
Pros: "That the staff at American Aiirlunes were helpful in getting me to my destination."
Cons: "Flight was delayed and then canceled!!!!! I missed my connecting flight in Miami."
Cons: "No space! Glad I was sitting next to family! Seats were tight...no leg room...long flight!"
Pros: "The A321-S was a pretty good aircraft. Nicely updated interior. Staff were young & professional. Everyone was happy, efficient and professional. It was nice to see the Captain smile and say goodbye to ALL the passengers. Well done AA!"
Pros: "Entertainment was good, except the system wasn't working the first 30min of flight."
Cons: "Parents left their 5 kids in the row behind me to horseplay. During the whole flight. Crew did nothing while they ran up and down the aisles. They parents and kids have been kicked off the plane for not being in their seats when told by the captain."
Pros: "Tiny airplane but single flght crew managed my and from what I could see fellow passengers needs commendably. Whilst I didn't like needing to hand in my carry on (without much warning so I didn't have time to pull out a magazine to read) on the plus side it was stored well as my suit carrier came out unscathed and you get your bags curb side as soon as the plane lands so you don't have to wait for the rest of the bags to unload."
Cons: "Because the airplane is so small there is not much room to move in the aisle (thankfully most people just sat down for the short flight), also you have to hand in your carry on baggage so that it is stored with the main bags."
Pros: "Nice Jet."
Cons: "During boarding, we were pulled out of the line. The attendant that diverted us did not explain why he diverted us. Our boarding passes were printed by our hotel as were many others that we saw. We went to a desk where another individual started asking question about our life and where we were going. Still, no one thought it was necessary to explain what part of the process or what exactly is going on. The man that diverted us, I'll bet, does not have reasons or any idea why he diverted us. I hate to think that he did it because we were Black Americans."
Pros: "Their customer service sucks."
Cons: "Their customer service sucks."
Pros: "The TV entertainment built in the seat."
Cons: "The baggage check in process, the 6 hour delay of my flight, wasting the majority of my day in the airport due to plane inspection. De-planing after boarding. The unorganized line/crowd during the boarding process."
Pros: "New plane with leather like seats and good entertainment system."
Cons: "No individual tv screens seems a little ridiculous for a nonstop 5 hour flight"
Pros: "The airline was excellent, I am over being cramped in these planes for long flights. Unfortunately living in Australia makes us have to do the long flights."
Cons: "When you are travelling on long flights travelling all night, people in front have seat reclined right back and it is so hard to get out when you need to go to toilet."
Cons: "Great"
Pros: "Upgraded from Business to First on a transcend A321. Seats amazing, hard product is just superb on these planes. Crew good but a bit animatronic as always with AA."
Pros: "Non"
Cons: "I could not change the flight with less payment so I missed the flight and booked another one."
Pros: "Movies"
Cons: "No breakfast"
Pros: "I got to my destination safely. That's about the only good thing."
Cons: "The flight was delayed 4 times. The airline was not very helpful during times of delay - normally airlines would offer food or drink vouchers - none of that. The flight was delayed for a total of 4 hours. When I arrived into LAX, I had requested if I could go on an earlier flight if there was space (rather than catching the later one - an hour later). They asked me to pay $200 to change it. Fair enough if you want to charge me for a change of ticket - but then the plane that I was supposed to go on got delayed for 3 hours and you don't offer any sort of compensation - thats really not something I expect from American Airlines"
Pros: "The boarding process was swift. The movie was a good one tho the scattered monitors didn't have clean images on them."
Cons: "The plane seemed one of the first ever invented so you had to pull your knees close to fit in your seat. Plus they un confirmed my baggage for some reason during the miami layover so it never made it onboard the plane. I'm now stuck in a foreign country without my clothes, products, etc. THANKS FOR THAT!! =\"

No option for not ordering any food, seat were a little in comfortable, over all flight was quick and on time, even on my flight out the plane was an hr late arriving but it hardly affected my fight at all B+

Baggage check and Boarding was easy. Seats reminded me of the old Yugo car with not enough room. Attendants didn’t seem to want to be there. Lights were never turned off on this red eye flight. To be fair, management has been making some very poor decisions lately and moral is low.

Spirit had a huge meltdown this week. DO NOT FLY SPIRIT. My whole itinerary was blown up.

Like: Friendly crew and a safe trip. Better: offer free water.

Pros: "Not much besides the Flight crew was kind."
Cons: "Spirit airlines charges you money for water!!! For water!!! I was on a four and a half hour flight from LA to CLE, and didn’t bring my credit cards or a bottle of water with me. I could t get a bottle of water because they charge for them. How is that even legal? I sat thirsty considering drinking the water from the airplane lavatory. Beyond that the seats don’t recline and you get nickle and dined for everything. I would never fly this airline if I didn’t need to travel to CLE where they appear to be one of if not the most dominate airline."
Pros: "No one ended up sitting next to me."
Cons: "You have to pay for any beverage, including water. This was a 5 hour flight. I don’t know anyone that would think a free glass of water should be optional and therefore considered a la carte. There was no water in the bathroom to wash my hands. Got stuck behind the beverage cart and flight attendant had a nasty look on her face. Chairs don’t recline and I had to pay $50 to check my carry-on bag in because I didn’t read the fine print or visit their website after booking so although it seemed like the cheaper option I probably ended up paying the same amount or more. I wouldn’t recommend this airline if you want to fly comfortably."
Cons: "VERY unclear baggage rules - meaning I paid $100 extra for a checked bag after booking, and then also unnecessarily paid an extra $55 for a backpack at the airport because there was not notification on-screen that it was allowed as a personal bag. I then could not get a refund at the baggage counter because they don't do transactions. I am now trying to work out how to get a refund from Australia. I would have been better off taking any other airline and it would have been cheaper than these extra fees. I am so disappointed."
Pros: "Nothing, never got on the plane."
Cons: "I was stuck in traffic before the flight and arrived approximately 50min before the flight. By the time I finished fighting with the self check-in machine and talked to a person, it was about 45min before the flight and I was told I was too late and the plane had already boarded and was full. I asked if I could get on the next flight, but I was told the next flight from LAX to Oakland wasn't until 7AM the next morning. I wound up having to buy a last-minute, one-way ticket on American Airlines just to get where I was going. The man at the counter was very rude and dismissive about the whole thing."
Pros: "Flight departed early and landed almost 40 minutes early. Good service. Nice crew. I paid extra for the big First seat."
Cons: "Still no frills. No internet. No power for your computer. No reclining seats."
Pros: "No delays. Boarding was efficient but not much else. Very basic."
Cons: "I wanted to bring a bag as hand luggage and had to pay $46 each way. I've flown loads and this is the first airline who has charged for carry on."
Pros: "flight attendant was nice, but..."
Cons: "The flight attendant said that i was sick and they escorted me off the plane after i ran to it from check in counter because they were boarding already. I ate literally in the car before i got to the air port, so check in told me to run to make it. the tsa knew i asked people if i can jump ahead in line and they said yes, they all knew i was in a hurry, the boarding door guy knew that i was out of breath and i told him i was out of shape, so dont mind me. I was one of the last people to sit down. So after 15 minutes of me cooling down, and after the flight attendant gave me water, napkins, and an ice pack, then i felt nauseous and i threw up in the bathroom. I felt much better because it was the food that i just ate right before i did all the running. I told them that this is what happened, and as you can see i am sweaty and was in a hurry to make it here. they said for my safety that i need to get off the plane to be examined. I literary purged the full stomach i had after running from one end of the air port to the other. It has been told to most people that you must let your food digest before doing physical activity. I am out of shape and that run over exerted my body. So they had me removed off the plane, after i desperately attempted to make the flight before they stopped boarding, which i did, and I got taken off. Rude."
Cons: "55.00 for a carry on bag?? Are you kidding me? If I had known that when I bought the tickets of course I wouldn't have bought the tickets. For another hundred dollars I could have bought a ticket From Alaska flown in comfort and had free water !!! Instead I had to use that 100.00 for carry on bags! I hate you guys! You're the biggest rip off. I fly an average 3 times a year. I will never fly Spirit and I will tell everyone on all social media not to fly with spirit unless they enjoy getting raped!!!"
Pros: "Crew were polite and efficient"
Cons: "The extremely high cost to check a bag, almost double very other airline!"
Cons: "never again"
Pros: "Landing safely."
Cons: "I booked a flight for Friday night red-eye just for it to be delayed by 2 hours & eventually canceled. Due to this cancellation I missed my brothers graduation ceremony that was scheduled for the next day. When I first called they told me the next available flight was in three days. I spoke to someone else who then told me 24 hours was the earliest flight. I took that with no type of credit offered for my major inconvenience. The re-scheduled flight was also delayed by 2.5 hours the following day. Needless to say, I will NEVER be flying spirit again."
Cons: "I had to pay more to check my luggage than I did for my ticket. I've never been in a flight where I had to pay for my Cary on. $59...not even like a standard $25 for 1 check luggage. The. I had to pay another $59 for my checked luggage. Also standard weight is 50 lbs. my suitcase was 54. I could've move things around however spirits weight was 40 lbs. so I got to pay $55 for over weight. I am so distraught because I was excited to check out Spirit but knowing what is standard for other airlines at no point did I receive any information on any of these charges previous. I also had to weight in line for 40 mins. Have never been to a gate that stopped accepting luggage 45 mins. Prior. And I would've checked 45 mins. Prior had they only had 2 people checking in and on em dealing with a patron for 15 mins. Before finally get another person to start checking people in. The flight was so cold that my face was freezing and I think I'll stop there. My disappointment is at an all time low. Only bonus was being switch to a new flight that left 30 minutes later. Also your app doesn't work properly. When it asks me to pick how I rate... there are no words that show up when the pop up with five choices pops up."
Pros: "That the plane actually landed."
Cons: "2 hours late and 5 different gates. The funny part was kayaks notifications of gate changes were faster than Spirits Crew. When I asked if the new information was correct she gave me attitude. Then 10 minutes later reported the new gate that Kayak had already determined. That was just boarding. Paid for the more comfortable/spacious seating which was nice but useless when coupled with seats that do not recline whatsoever. Painful and slightly torturous. Don't fly them you'll save money by choosing someone else. $ to pick seat $ to bring a carry on...those who didn't know that paid somethingnlike $65 at the gate. The worst. Never again."
Pros: "Refunded my ticket with no issues"
Cons: "First, they cancelled my 8am flight at 10pm the night before with no notification. I happened to see it and call to rebook on the next flight, but if I hadn't been checking the flight status I'm not sure what would have happened when I got to the airport. Then, the 10am rebooked flight was delayed for over 2 hours - with basically no communication from the gate agents and no updates to the expected departure time. Ended up getting a refund and rebooking on Southwest - which was a perfectly smooth experience, huge contrast to the clusterf*** of flying Spirit."
Pros: "Nothing"
Cons: "When buy through kayak link it takes you to the spirit page, where there's no spot to put in get TSA Precheck. When do all through phone, the boarding pass on the screen doesn't actually scan - only airline in the world where you still need a paper copy. After 50 mins in security line, the phone bar code didn't scan (can't use phone for spirit). Had to leave to get a paper boarding pass. Missed flight. I fly at least once a week every week. Have never missed a flight in my life (probably bc I had never flown with spirit before). Missed this flight! No refund, no airline credit (even if I got the airline credit I would let it expire to avoid flying with them again). Literally worst user experience I've ever had with an airline."
Pros: "Crew onboard were great, helpful, smiling and accommodating."
Cons: "Spirit Gate crew at LAX were terrible, rude, and condescending. I brought a "personal item" which is a laptop case with wheels and I was pulled out of line and marched to the gate desk where I was informed that it was too large to be a personal item and that I had to pay $100 to bring it on the plane. I said that I had been using this particular laptop case for years on multiple airlines and then fit it into the test receptacle provided but still had to pay the $100. I asked why not charge me the $40 for a carry-on and was told that was online only and that it's $100 at the gate. I have the Spirit credit card and mileage program, but did not feel like "a member of the Spirit family" and was ripped off."
Pros: "absolutely nothing"
Cons: "Spirit is the worst airline in the world. I've never been so dissatisfied with service - except for the last time I flew spirit. The flight was delayed from 10:20 to 11:45. I had checked in the previous day - and printed by boarding pass - so I arrived at the ticketing counter at 10:20 - seeing as how the flight was delayed till 11:45. They refused to take my bag, which I had paid for - and refused to refund me for the USD 45 I paid for checked baggage. The woman at ticketing was stone faced and so cold. She was downright awful to the other woman ahead of me in line. I had my daughter come back and pick up my bag so that I could board the flight - as the ticketing agent said that I could board, just not my bag. The flight didn't end up taking off until 12:15 PM. It was a nightmare. It's ridiculous that the seats don't recline. I suppose you get what you pay for... but the level that Spirit takes it to is just insulting. I told my daughter I will never fly again if I have to fly Spirit."
Pros: "See above"
Pros: "Nothing."
Cons: "I was extremely disappointed when I arrived at the LA airport and was notified that my flight was delayed and therefore I would not make the connecting flight. I asked for Spirit Airline to help come up with a solution. The agents at LAX kept me at the counter for over an hour making me miss my original flight to Dallas. All the Spirit agents kept saying is that corporate doesn't allow them to help. Only option was a refund or flight out of LAX 12hrs after my original flight and take a red eye. I was at the airport with (2) children under the age of 10. The people for Spirit had poor attitudes and lacked any effort to help come up a solution. I ended up having to book a same day flight from Delta Airlines. Delta flew out at 1pm. The (2) kids and myself were at the airport at 9am to catch the 10am flight from Spirit. Long day for us."
Pros: "Cheap flights."
Cons: "We were told our flight was downgraded and that 35 passengers needed to switch thier flight as there was no seats available. We had a group of 5 people and 2 did not have seats. So we volunteered to switch our flights as we were told we would leave the following day at the same time all together, get a hotel for the night, food vouchers and 2 free round trip flights. So when they were switching our flights they booked 3 out of the 5 who volunteered and they told us we could not be on the same flight. Eventually they got us all on the same flight but that was 4 or 5 hours later. In regards to the food vouchers we were informed we could only use them in the airport but we were not allowed pass tsa as we did not have boarding passes. We then asked about our luggage as we had checked them in when we first arrived and they informed us they pulled them out of the flight and they were going to be at luggage claim. When we tried to get our luggage at baggage claim we were then informed that no luggages were pulled and they were already in transit to chicago. So the supervision told us that we could buy whatever items we needed for the night and we would get reimbursed later, which keep in mind we had to take a taxi from the hotel to a target near by. This whole process was ridiculous and it seemed as if no one was able to provide us with accurate information. Had we known it was going to be such a hassel and inconvenience to ourselves we would have never given up our seats to begin with. Pedro was the name of the person at the gate who informed us we would have a flight all together and that was false in which carlos had told him. Rosario at check in was patient and helped the most but she informed us our luggage was going to be available for us and that was false. Zachary manning Katona was very unprofessional and rude to us as well as his coworkers. And edier the supervisor informed us we will get a reimbursement for the items we buy since our luggage was shipped back to chicago, so lets see if thats true or false when the time comes."
Pros: "That was the most turbulent flight I have ever been on, even in a small aircraft. When we were landing in MSP we encountered severe winds and the pilot had to make and abort 2 landing attempts. On the third attempt we were able to land. I've never been on an airplane where so many people were throwing up before! The pilot handled the difficult winds, and massive snowstorm perfectly and I absolutely can't thank him enough. I can't believe we didn't get diverted to Chicago or crash. The flight attendants and other crew are in very good spirits considering the airline they are working for."
Cons: "Spirit s luggage weight allowance is 10 pound less than the other airlines. That makes it difficult to pack winter clothing and boots. Their baggage fees are also higher than other airlines, but you can carry less! The "bare fare" is incredibly annoying, they even charge you for water on the airplane. There is no food available, or maybe one small snack. The seats are so small. I'm 5 feet 4 inches tall and weigh 120 pounds and I feel uncomfortable I can't imagine what a tall or average sized person goes through. The seats are so incredibly hard like you are sitting on a wooden bench. This is one of those cases where you really get what you pay for - a low price comes with a lot of discomfort and frustration. I would never fly on this airline on a flight over 4 hours. The suffering would not be worth saving money. The staff does their best to treat you kindly but you can plainly see they are dealing with difficult circumstances and being pushed to their breaking point. They have to deal with so many miserable, uncomfortable people. I feel bad for them."
Pros: "Nothing"
Cons: "Upon arrival to the airport, I was told to stand in a line. Once I flagged someone down and asked if I could use a kiosk since I was not checking a bag, they directed me to the right location. Upon attempting to check-in, the kiosk printed a ticket that read "see attendant." I was placed on a line to wait again. Once I finally reached the attendant she told me that I was late in checking in. Apparently, the system does not allow you to check-in less then 45 minutes before departure and I was one minute shy of that. The then proceeded to tell me that I could not get on the flight despite having time to make it and would be charged a $100 rebooking fee. I was livid. I had to wait over six hours for no reason. My seat was empty when the plane took off. There was no reason to keep me off the flight."
Pros: "Nothing!!"
Cons: "Had never flown Spirit before. First AND LAST experience. Don't care that they call themselves no frills. Their customer service is pathetic. Had to wait at the airport for 25 minutes for any Spirit employee to show up at the ticket counter to check my bag. By that time there were about 50 people waiting for help. Even other airline employees and TSA employees didn't know why they weren't there. Also called customer service to have my KTN (pre-check #) added because I couldn't put it in when I booked the flight. Even though he told me he would put it in- he didn't. So NO precheck for me. The seats in the plane are beyond uncomfortable. Like sitting on a hard straight chair -no padding. Charging for carry ons? Really? Checking my bag was cheaper than carrying it on and it's a SMALL suitcase seriously. Do NOT be fooled by the low prices listed. They are deceiving!!! Just trying to give a real review here folks. Not being overly dramatic."
Pros: "That there was a Virgin Loft flight club in the terminal, only used it because of the Spirit delay"
Cons: "Front counter is rude. I don't know if they just had a front counter person having a bad day but I've never experienced that with any airline. Then there was a flight delay of a minimum 2 hours due to a bad windshield? Great keep us safe, but good luck with finding someone at the gate or a service counter to give you an explanation of why it's delayed. Instead just wander aimlessly around the terminal looking for a Spirit employee. I then went to the Spirit website and it shows the flight as "on time", really?? At least give me an app or website that's accurate so I don't have to sit in front of the gate for 2 hours. When booking through Kayak there is no mention of pre-purchasing checked baggage so I was stuck with a $50 fee at the ticket counter! This is definitely not the "low price" airline unless you truly "travel naked". Save yourself some grief and ignore Spirit as a flight option."
Pros: "Nothing"
Cons: "Up charge on everything. Rude customer service. Can't check in at the counter at least at LAX. Missed my flight and had to wait 7 hrs because only 3 of the 12 kiosks were operating at the agents wouldn't let me check in at the counter. By the time I got my ticket printed I had 43 minutes till my flight left. Waited in line just to have an agent tell me I was 2 mins too late. Last check in is 45 mins prior to flight and I had 43 mins left. Complete BS. I will not fly Spirit again. If you think I'm exaggerating read other reviews. Good luck!"
Cons: "These flights would be alright if you have no luggage. A lot of people were told they had to pay for smaller bags at the gate just because they had wheels. And it was an extra $100 per bag at the gate. The only thing that goes on free is a backpack or purse. Otherwise it's $50 right away when you check-in, which they were letting a lot through saying you'd be alright, or $65 before zone 1 is called and $100 there after, this goes for each flight. And as I said, most people got stuck with the $100 because they were initially told they'd be fine at check-in but when they went to board they were told otherwise. There were also issues with scanning tickets and a few people had to step out of line and get new ones. I personally would never fly this airline unless I had no other choice. Spend the extra little bit of money on a better airline; in the long run you will save a good chunk of change."
Pros: "I got to my destinations safely."
Cons: "You don't actually save money with this airline, which is something I had to learn the hard way apparently. You could hardly understand the pilot when he made announcements and the crew wasn't exactly rude, but definitely weren't kind and warm either. The man next to me pushed his button for someone to assist him and asked that they throw his trash away (not cool on the man's part, I'll admit that, because the crew was doing walk-throughs for trash every 5 minutes it seemed). But, the passenger next to me did not deserve the passive aggressive help he received. The seats are uncomfortable and don't seem worth the money/weight they must have saved. While I admire the mission to save fuel, I think the cons outweigh the pros of this airline. I'll happily return to Southwest or Virgin."
Pros: "Let me start by saying that the entire purpose of Spirit is to be significantly cheaper than other airlines and at that, they have succeeded. We saved nearly $300 for two people round trip. That said, you have to read their policies before booking to fly with them as they do charge you for any baggage beyond a small backpack/purse. We planned accordingly and it worked just fine. Because they are cheaper, they also provide no movies or entertainment of any kind and no food/beverage provided. They are available for purchase on the flight or you could just again, plan accordingly and pack your own snacks and drinks before you board the flight. Many complaints about them having frequent delays. But we were fortunate enough to not have any of these on our outgoing and return flights. Flight attendance were friendly and courteous."
Cons: "They are cheap so they have the cheapest feeling cabins of any airline I've flown in the US. No reclining. Not much leg room. And not much of a tray table. For a 5 hour flight across the US it was a bit uncomfortable. I probably wouldn't book them again for a flight of the duration but it would be more than fine for a 2-3 hour flight considering the cost. Flight attendance were pushing the airlines credit card at the end of the flight."
Pros: "Only their initial "SUCKER PRICE" that does NOT include any luggage or the ability to sit with your family without paying extra!!!"
Cons: "They use an initial "SUCKER PRICE" which does NOT include ANY LUGGAGE or the ability to SIT WITH YOUR FAMILY without paying extra!! $50 extra for each piece of luggage ... EACH WAY1 If you don't pay at the check in counter they charge $100 for each piece of luggage - each way and that includes ANY BACKPACK WITH WHEELS! $25 FOR EACH FAMILY MEMBER TO SIT TOGETHER!!!! NO COMPLIMENTARY FOOD OR DRINK. 2 sodas are $5! (can't buy just one) NO none zero entertainment, not even a radio channel."
Pros: "The only part about this flight experience I enjoyed was the clever way the flight attendants did their introduction/safety announcement before takeoff."
Cons: "I waited in line to check in for 1.5 hours where they then told me I was too late and asked me to sign a piece of paper without at all explaining to me that my bag would have to go on the next flight. I am lucky I asked first because they had to make a special call for me since I couldn't wait at the airport for it at my destination. If I did not ask I would have been completely screwed up! I then waited in security for 45 minutes. My flight got delayed about 3.5 hours Total before actually taking off. I flew from LAX to PHX. I will never in a million years ever fly spirit airlines again."
Pros: "Nothing. I really wish I would have read spirit's reviews before booking with them."
Cons: "I booked a round trip flight through spirit from July 2nd to July 4th for a friend's wedding. Found out the night before my flight that it was cancelled due to "mechanical failure." Since it was on a holiday weekend, all of spirit's other flights for the day were full and customer service (which is also terrible) would not put me on another airline. They offered a refund, which I accepted and have yet to receive, but I had to fork out another $120 to get another last minute flight. And of course they did not offer to cover the extra cost. Tl;dr - booked a flight with spirit because it was cheap and ended up almost missing my friend's wedding because my flight was cancelled."
Cons: "Flight was cancelled under for 4 prior to takeoff. Spirit showed a direct flight same day online at 9PM from LAX to Chicago but when I called to confirm they said it was not available to me and put me on a 6 hour layover flight to MN. I asked for a hotel since I was spending the night in MN which I had not planned for and they denied that. I asked to use my $50 voucher they fought to provide me for a cancellation inconvenience for an in flight water and they said they only accept credit cards. I'm stuck in MN for the night with nothing to eat drink or anywhere to sleep cause of the late cancellation notice which they claimed was a mechanical error. I'm pissed I want my money refunded."
Pros: "The flight was cancelled dye to "unexpected weather iin Colorado" however after talking to a different airline and also a friend who flew to CO, I know it was bullshit. The weather in CO was perfect an my flight was canceled because Spirit airlines couldnt fill the flight. That is NOT MY PROBLEM and I shouldn't suffer for this. I do a lot of travel and have NEVER has a canceled flight. I used to fly between PHX and LA frequently and have been on next to empty flights but I have never been held responsible for the airlines inability to get business. I will NEVER book a flight through Spirit EVER again!!"
Cons: "The flight was cancelled dye to "unexpected weather iin Colorado" however after talking to a different airline and also a friend who flew to CO, I know it was bullshit. Pros: "I liked that the plane was structurally sound and well built and that the pilots knew what they were doing - it went up, flew and landed! SUCCESS!!"
Cons: "I remember when SOUTHWEST came onto the scene, people said "It's a cattle call airlines". Well, there's a new leader in budget flying - seats don't recline, if you are over 6'2" your femur will barely fit in the seat space between rows, $3 for anything to drink, and because it is cheap (least expensive) it has all the personalities/characters 'least expensive' will attract. . . and heck, I was one of them! People are great, but when we are crammed into spaces, our egos and inner-judges get all ramped up, and there were plenty of these moments. Nice, friendly airline crew, from front counter to attendants, which also comes with the lack of experience and polish of veteran airline employees. In the future I will ony fly Spirit when I am country hopping and need the least expensive series of flights to get from point A to point B to Point C, and SPIRIT was a leg in that journey. Fly safe and kind everyone! CT"
Pros: "Nothing"
Cons: "On my departing flight I was delayed right off the bat for 2 hours. Then after that we sat on the tarmac for 2 hours and then deboarded and delayed another 3 hours. The staff was very unhelpful and I paid $28 for a seat upgrade which was not even fulfilled because I requested an aisle seat and got a window seat. The staff was also very rude and told me this why hispanic people have a sterotype. On my arriving flight I was double charged for my carrying on and backpack. I was told that I would need to pay for both but when I went into the gate that was not the case and I saw that my backpack met specifications to not be charged. When I paid the fee the attendant took money out from her brasserie to give me change and then pocketed the cash and when I asked for a reciet she said the computer system was down and on my boarding ticket it did not have that I paid for a carry on so I was given a hard time at the gate. When I explained what happened they said okay as if this shady stuff is acceptable. I was then delayed in the air for 2 hours and rerouted to detroit to get gas. We were told to hold tight and not allowed to use the restroom for an hour to then be told we had to deboard for an addtional 2 hours. This is horrible and I will continue to speak with someone until I get a refund."
Pros: "Really??? I guess I liked the fact that we arrived safely but that is it."
Cons: "EVERYTHING!! This airline has done everything wrong in an attempt to cut costs. The flights were very cramped. The seats were extremely uncomfortable. There were flight attendants but really no reason as there were no services they provided. There were extra hidden fees for everything from selecting your seat to printing your boarding pass (apparently this costs the airline $10 per boarding pass). The flights didn't arrive on time, we were waiting nearly an hour for our checked baggage which we were coerced into purchasing due to the limited size available for carryon (i.e.a small purse or brief case). I will NEVER spend another dime with this company and highly suggest you consider all other options before selecting this airline."
Cons: "My flight to LA was delayed by a systems crash, we spent 2-1/2 hours at the gate before departing. My return flight wagon time and I was looking forward to a relatively comfortable flight home, as i'd paid extra for an exit row seat on the aisle. instead, the person who sat next to me man-spreaded into my personal/seat space, shoving his shoulders into my ribs and making the 7 hour cross-country flight, exceedingly uncomfortable. When i voiced my complaints to him, he replied in an entitled and indignant fashion and redoubled his effort to invade my personal space. What's worse, is that this man was wearing a Spirit Airlines uniform and presumably, did not pay for his seat. I will never fly Spirit again."
Cons: "We arrived at the airport two hours early and got to the gate right when they closed it so we missed our flight. When we asked to switch our flight the attendant said that there wasn't another for another two days and then walked away. She came back 20 minutes later and said there was nothing she could do. After about 15 minutes she changed our flight. I got in huge trouble at work because I missed my flight and couldn't afford another airline's flight home. TSA was extremely rude and the Spirit staff was extremely rude as well."
Cons: "Spirit Airlines provides no services (including water), the seats and tray tables are minimal and uncomfortable, and the seats do not recline. The ground staff are so tired of repeating the same company negative replies to incredulous passengers ("$100 to bring on a carry-on?") that they come across as unaccommodating and surly. My return flight attempt to prepay for our luggage on the website ($40 per bag rather then $50 at the kiosk) took over 40 minutes including having to join the Spirit Airlines club which I have absolutely no intention of ever using again. Read the fine print on luggage weight, extra charges, one personal item before you think this airline is a "deal.""
Pros: "Arriving safely at my destination"
Cons: "No literature, no amenities, crowded seats that don't recline, getting nickel and dimed by attendants like carnival barkers for water, sitting next to dehydrated and furious people that just had to pay $55 to bring a carry-on which offset any savings they thought they were getting by flying Spirit, and a patronizing ad campaign that tries to get you excited to be miserable. "[Amenities] just weigh us down." It said something like that on the print out. I feel like not distributing water as a safety precaution in a pressurized atmosphere for a 5.5 hour flight is just begging for a catastrophe because a passenger couldn't whip out his MasterCard quick enough to stay hydrated."
Cons: "Unfortunately, I should have asked around in advance: everything is add-on in cost, so there are prices for an additional carry-on and a steep price for checked luggage. Beverages and the like are also an extra charge, as is choosing your own seat (which, if you are traveling with a family, is just ridiculous). The seating is hugely tight (if you want to pick your seats, it's $10 for each and $25 for any imaginably decent leg room--I say this as a very short person; anyone of average height would be miserable)."
Cons: "This was one of the worst flight experiences of my entire life. I had to pay almost $200 in extra fees, which included everything from checked bags, carry on bags AND seat selection. Their website is awful! It took me over 2 hours plus 2 customer service phone calls before I was able to check in for my flight. Completely disorganized at the airport. Under staffed. We arrived 2 hours early and barely made our flight. We were in lines so long we barely had time to use the restroom, let alone find any kind of food for the flight. Upon boarding, I witnessed one of the flight attendants being extremely rude and hostile to a female customer who was talking to her friend about how bad her Spirit experience was. A supervisor came back and instead of reprimanding the rude flight attendant, she told all of us that if the flight attendant didn't feel "comfortable" with any of us, we would be "removed" from the flight! The flight was delayed because they closed the cabin doors before 10 additional customers were able to make it through their ridiculous lines. Instead of apologizing for their incompetence, they blamed the customers for being late, despite the fact that at least one of them initially arrived at the same time we did (2 hours before the flight)! Oh and the flight itself was rickety as hell with screaming babies everywhere. I'm absolutely DREADING the return flight home. This is the worst airline ever and should be shut down as soon as possible."
Cons: "they nickel and dime you for literally EVERYTHING. you think you are saving money purchasing a cheap ticket but once you add in your suitcase and God for bid a soda or coffe while on the plane you're at double the cost of the original ticket price. I know they warn you of the small amount of space but my knees were jammed to the chair in front of me, I'm 5'8, so not like I am abnormally tall. it was just a bad enough experience all around that I would advise no one to take the airlines, especially for a long routed trip!"
Cons: "I dont see that I would ever use Spirit again. You book a ta low fare and incur many costs that build up and nearly double your fair. may as well book on another airline and get what you wanted in the first place for the same price. The staff were unprofessional, disrespectful, tired and unkempt. And the flight was delayed, and we were never given a reason. I needed to change my return flight. I was instructed that i would save money by doing it on line. I would have saved NO money, and was able to easily book a new fare for less money with another airline. #NO-Spirit Airlines"
Pros: "The customer service when I needed to change my flight date was excellent. The women that helped me were top notch."
Cons: "I was not aware that they were going to charge extra for EVERYTHING. Where other airlines give you (at the very least) free water, sometimes soda and a small snack, Spirit wanted $3 for a small bottle of water! $4 for a muffin?! Good grief! I get it, airlines up-charge you for everything, but I was not aware ahead of time that I'd be spending MORE money on top of the fare. They were not upfront about this, at all. Also - adding an extra fee just to pick your seat a few minutes early is ludicrous. Anywhere from $11-99 just so you can make sure you have a seat you want (depending on location)! And that's not choosing the seat when you purchase your ticket, that's choosing your seat the day of the flight, once you're at the airport or stressing over making sure you get to the airport the day of, on time. Yay, more stress, just what I wanted to start my vacation with! Speaking of seats - THEY DON'T RECLINE! The comfort level while sitting on 4 and 5 hour flights was next to none (I can't imagine the flights longer than that...I'd have lost my mind). You're sitting nearly straight up on an overnight flight - be sure to bring extra pillows, cause you're gonna want to pile them up in your lap just to try to get a little bit of a nap. I get that you won't get the most comfy sleep when you're on a plane, but I'm gonna need a chiro visit just to get this kink out of my neck. :( To top it all off, not every seat has a tray table. If you're "lucky" enough (or pay...) to get to have a few inches of extra foot room from sitting behind one of the only 4 reclining seats on the plane (the $99 seats), you'll be holding anything you want to drink or eat in your lap. Sucks for you, but you don't get a tray table! This was my first flight with Spirit, because I liked the idea of spending $100 less than the rest of my usual airline. But, I think it's pretty obvious at this point, I will do everything I can to avoid flying with Spirit in the future. TL;DR Hidden costs for EVERYTHING! Seats, water, peanuts....ridiculous. Comfort level is next to none. If I have a choice, I will avoid flying with Spirit again."
Pros: "Staff were very pleasant."
Cons: "My issue is with the purchase of my flight and the failure of your website to make the need or lack of need to purchase additional items. I purchased through orbitz and was not allowed at that time to advise of my need for wheelchair assistance or pick a seat. I got on your website and ended up purchasing an aisle seat to accomodate my disabilty and paid to bring on a carry on bag. The bill indicated i was charged twice so i had to call when i was informed i did not have to pay for a seat and i did have to pay for tge caary on. I could not figure out your system and most likely will not fly on your plane again because of that fact. I paid an extra 45 to accomodate a disability which is unsettling but more a problem when you cannot figure out the additioal charges until it is too late to cancel them. Then, on a plane that was not full, they gave my seat to another passenger which t ook quige sometime to fix"
