Cons: "AC would always delay"
Cons: "Just take a trip with. Jet am or Japan airline and clearly see the difference in how a customer should be addressed and service., politeness and how the flight attendants provide that extra mile in terms of customer experience."
Pros: "Pro-free wine!"
Cons: "Can-food not the best..."
Pros: "My wife had injured her knee before our trip and was having difficulty walking. Air Canada provided wheelchair assistance every part of our airport transfers between Atlanta and Japan. Thanks so much !"
Pros: "Modern planes, very comfy (Vancouver to Beijing), nice entertainment options, good food"
Cons: "super cranky flight attendants who looked and talked to us like we are idiots. Not just my feelings; the rest of my travel group of 7 agrees...."
Cons: "The waiting area at the Boston airport is poor. It is very small, rundown and with limited access to refreshments. It's ok but certainly not a selling point."
Pros: "Chairs and the space was very good."
Cons: "Crew and the food was very poor. This is the only long international flight 10 hours that served a night grate dinner and the crews got disappeared the rest of the flight and no breakfast."
Pros: "the cew was nice"
Cons: "The terminal had no food options at all when we were in a very delayed flight and hungry. We were not given seats ahead of time and therefore were assigned the last row which was very uncomfortable and could not recline. No one was at the desk to help with the seats for a Very long time. The boarding process was not good."
Pros: "Crew was great"
Cons: "Seats were to close together"
Pros: "flight was smooth"
Cons: "We basically were left without info about connecting flight! Also priority boarding for passengers with kids should be announced. It's not the job of passengers to ask. Crew could use more friendliness and being more helpful in giving directions especially in flight and for connections. The lady that checked us in was the worst. We gave her boarding passes and passport and after checking she gave them back to me in a disorganized way, I had a toddler and I had to stop and arrange my documents first. She did not even indicate where to keep the strollers. All she cared was to see d face of my toddler, in my effort to get d child up from stroller and turn her around to her, she fell and guess what, this lady did not even react! Unflinching, she just wanted to check d face of my 3 year old in case she is impersonating. That being said, some other staff were very friendly so this is not generalizing all to be same way"
Pros: "Flight crew were friendly"
Cons: "Ground staff were terrible and the ground crew mysteriously disappeared. Air conditioning was not working on the flight while it was on the ground. All passengers sweating for an hour on the tarmac. Flight arrived 2.5 hrs late resulting in a missed connection."
Cons: "Brussels airport staff would not let me to check in, saying that I need a Canadian visa (I had a transfer in Montreal), even though I am Green Card holder and I don't need a visa for a transfer flight. It took me almost 45 minutes to convince them that I don't need a visa a finally was allowed to check in"
Pros: "service, friendly attendants, amenities"
Pros: "Nothing. This was the least pleasant flying experience I've ever had."
Cons: "1. They scheduled me for an overnight layover FOR NO REASON when there were multiple flights leaving earlier to my ultimate destination. 2. The airplane food gave me food poisoning and I had to spend the night in the ER. 3. My flight the next morning was delayed by 3hrs. Meanwhile, other flights to the same destination were taking off with no problem."
Pros: "Quick, cheap, great service"
Cons: "Nothing bad, really"
Pros: "Crew was helpful"
Cons: "Didn't like the delay Had to check carry on"
Pros: "Friendly attendants made up for the defective entertainment system."
Pros: "Seating and on time"
Pros: "The food was not really good."
Cons: "Boarding by zones is an excellent idea; but it does not work very well. Peole still making lines and standing in front of the gate when their zones have not been called out. Making boarding very difficult and confusing."
Pros: "The ice cream and the one woman in customer service that actually seemed to care."
Cons: "My husband and I were flying to Italy, on the first leg of our flight neither of our screens worked so we had six hours with no entertainment. They gave us a card to make it up to us but (wisely) don't tell you what it is for. It turned out to be for 10% off your next flight if you book it through their website within a year. Useless. On our return flight we were delayed on the tarmac for over an hour with no air conditioning, they originally said they were waiting for a signature but then said that there was something wrong with the engines that help us take off, then the cabin filled with a fuel smell, then they said they had brought the wrong item for the repair and we were waiting for the correct one. When we finally took off my husband's screen didn't work yet again and this was a 9 hour flight. The flight attendant said that some of the screens hadn't worked for a while ( probably cheaper to hand out useless discounts than to fix them.). We received another 10% off card, which we cannot combine or transfer, again useless. We missed our connection because of the delay, they booked us on another flight but because they didn't tell us that we had to pick up our luggage or where (it was on a different carousel than the rest of the luggage from our flight) and that we had to go through customs we (and many others) missed that flight too. We finally got a flight out the next morning and they put us up at a hotel. We both had to miss another day of work and it was quite an ordeal. My husband's screen worked for almost all of that last flight before it seized up. We didn't bother to report it that time since another 10% off coupon wasn't going to do us any good. Overall it is concerning that Air Canada doesn't seem to be maintaining their planes in optimal condition and that their idea of compensation involves them making even more money from me. Never again."
Pros: "- plane had more legroom than the usual - plane left and landed on time, an always welcome outcome for an AC flight - in flight movie selection was good"
Cons: "- plane was overbooked, and boarding took a while - staff only offered drink refreshments (ex. coke, coffee, etc) once, rather than the usual twice. The other time they just came by with water, which the flight attendant accidentally over-poured and spilled some on the middle passenger between me and the attendant. Good thing it was only water... - more turbulence than usual, but out of the control of the pilot"
Pros: "Crew were very nice"
Cons: "1. Plane had "mechanical" issues and was delayed 2. Seats are horribly uncomfortable 3. No free snacks or food at all on a 6 hours flight This was my first flight, and unless AC is significantly cheaper than other airlines, I won't me flying AC again as a result of the above."
Pros: "No complaints about the flight attendants"
Cons: "Seating very tight and uncomfortable. Luggage handling is the worst I have ever seen. Out of 6 in our group, 2 had lost luggage and 2 had misplaced luggage. Airport customer service didn't care if items were lost or misplaced. Very unprofessional all the way around!"
Pros: "I had an exit row seat so the extra room was much appreciated."
Cons: "Aircanada's method of multi zone boarding is a mess. Everyone queues up and blocks whatever zones actually can get on. The seat next to the exit door was freezing. The food was horrible. I understand airplane food is bad but this is some of the worst I have had. Our flight our was fine. There was no inflight entertainment for an 8+ hour flight - you had to rent iPads which is crazy these days. We were late to takeoff due to airport traffic which isn't the airlines fault but then because the customs baggage scanning system went down at Montreal my husband missed his connection - was eventually put on my flight after two trips to ticketing and three calls to aircanada but his bag never arrived in Chicago. We are still waiting for it."
Pros: "The flight attended during the flight were really nice"
Cons: "At the reception and flight registration the service was terrible not organized the service was poor people pushed each other with out organization. The lady pushed customers from one line to anothe"
Pros: "The on board food service was great.Entertainment system was good."
Cons: "Weather was bad in Montreall. This stretched out our time at the airport."
Pros: "crew was awesome"
Cons: "that people can recline their seats in coach. very uncomfortable and there's really not enough room to do this."
Pros: "The crew was very helpful."
Cons: "Entertainment was terrible."
Cons: "On the air canada website it said food included on international flights but when I got on the plane they said Panama - Toronto was not covered as International. ...really?"
Pros: "The flight from DC to Toronto was late around four hours and after we got on the plane We went back and we were waiting at the airport while get more fuel and which repaired the fault on the plane. so I was late for my next flight to FrankfurtSo I was put on a flight to Frankfurt with a connection in Lisbon. In the end, my suitcase was lost and I got it only two days later. Never I will no longer use AirCanada small planes !"
Pros: "Crew and staff on board aircraft were very friendly"
Cons: "Checking in process in Toronto was a mad house. No organization and extremely slow! The aircraft was very crammed and very stuffy. I'm allergic to dust and I coughed the whole 2 and a half hour flight. The legroom is horrible. I'm 5'7" and my knees were pressed up against the seat in front of me. Definitely first and last time flying w/ Air Canada"
Cons: "Cancelled flight and didn't even tell me a reason. They couldn't even make reservation for hotel. Hotel sent me back to airport because i didn't have voucher which AIr Canada guys said they can't make one? Everything didn't make sense. And they told me not to come again. They took like... whole day to book another flight. And i had hard time understanding what they were saying."
Cons: "Being bumped off of our connecting flight home after a long international flight due to overbooking (even though we had checked in all the way through from our departure city). We got split up going home and the $800 voucher that we were promised was decreeased to $400. They also lost our bag due to the changes. The reason we didnt get priority for seats on our connection is because our first flight landed at the last minute and by the time we got to the gate, all but 1 seat were claimed on a furst come first served basis. All staff treated the entire thing as an "oh well tough luck". No empathy because they suck so bad, they're used to seeing angry customers."
Pros: "No food service from Toronto to LA. And when I asked for item to purchase, it was not available."
Cons: "No food service - only purchase"
Pros: "The stewards were very attentive and kind. My original seat was kind of squished and there were a few open seats on my flight. So a lovely stewards offered me another seat where I wouldn't be sandwiched between people."
Cons: "I bought the tickets two months in advance, but they put us on standby list when we got to the airport. They over sold. I couldn't believe that. We were told that we should have paid to choose our seats!!!"
Pros: "On the whole it was a pleasant experience despite the flight being late."
Cons: "I thought that the flight being delayed by almost 2 hours was terrible. That should not have happened."
Pros: "Nothing - they were immature, unprofessional, nervous, unhelpful, and visibly shaken by relatively side problems."
Cons: "The flight was delayed for hours but not technically cancelled, which the ground crew blamed upon the flight crew and vice versa. The failure to cancel caused us to be unable to rebook, and subsequent avoidable delays arising from Air Canada's ineptitude caused us to be two, days late for arrival. The problem was solvable with some simple rebooking, but the ground, crew failed to assist, then the flight crew, when we finally left five hours late, was Impersonable, unhelpful, uninformed, and utterly unprepared. It was a terrible, second rate, poor quality experience and I would not recommend Air Canada to anyone. Your airline needs serious training in Professionalism and responsiveness."
Pros: "The service was good"
Cons: "There was no entertainment."
Pros: "The crew was very nice and accommodating and the flight itself was great"
Cons: "We had a 2 hour delay and almost missed our connection"
Cons: "Especially the crew."
Pros: "A nice short flight: there isn't much to say here, but the flight was smooth."
Cons: "The crewman seemed somewhat pushy. Perhaps a recalcitrant passenger put him in a bad mood."
Cons: "I was not able to board this flight. And it was such a disappointment and a shocking first for me. I reached the airport and on being checked at the counter, I was told that I cannot board because I don't have a Canadian visa. It was shocking to learn that I needed visa for a 1.5 hour layover. The website should give a prompt or should share the requirements. And all my ticket money got wasted."
Pros: "The crew were friendly and the food was pretty good."
Cons: "There was no music/entertainment provided by Air Canada. No flights over 4 hours should be without monitors for movies and/or music. Being told in-flight that we could have downloaded the Air Canada app was inexcusable as one couldn't download anything during the flight. I've been on many flights and the only other plane that didn't have entertainment or music options was going from Cape Cod, MA to Nantucket; a 20 minute flight on a Cessna. I was not expecting any music or entertainment on that flight, however. My wife and I were very disappointed in Air Canada from this perspective. We have 4 children and would pay extra on different airlines would never fly it again. We were grateful from Toronto to DFW there was entertainment, though."
Pros: "The ground crew were always nice and friendly. They worked hard to deal with delayed flight, missed connection, and tight alternate connection. Flight crew were also friendly and helpful."
Cons: "Four-hour flight delay released in one hour increments without announcement -gate displayed "on time departure" for the duration of the delay. Our hassles were compensated with meager meal vouchers given too late, There was no pre-boarding on our flight (just one big cattle call) which made boarding with child and gear extra awkward,"
Cons: "The flight was 3 hours delayed and we were not kept informed. In fact, the airport boards still displayed that this flight was on time, which was not correct. I kept getting emails of a change in schedule, but no reason was given by personnel at the gate. This was really a bad situation for me as I was meeting my daughter in Toronto who was flying alone with her infant son and she needed my help."
