I had to wait while attendant at counter tried to find seats and only watch as they were taken by someone else several times. So unnecessarily stressful and misleading. Lost my original seats, had to sit separate from my companion, and no real concern by Virgin about their impact on customers' plans. Last time I flew, the plane was cancelled, and we had to wait hours for another one in the terminal, so I missed the body corporate meeting that was the ONLY reason I was flying to Brisbane, paying for overnight accommodation and car rental and flight and I MISSED it. Huge cost for NOTHING, as despite driving straight to the meeting, it was just finishing. Whilst at the airport trying to fly home, I heard another Virgin flight cancelled , again due to "unscheduled maintenance". Seems that maintenance and mechanical problems are common and way more common than they should be. So that is a big worry!"

Cons: "After mechanical issue on Delta flight resulted in arriving after the LAX -> BNE deparature, Delta was unable to rebook me on an earlier flight since it "was with Virgin Australia" and after a 6-hour wait for gate agents to show up, Virgin Australia refused to rebook me on an earlier flight resulting in a 24-hour delay arriving at my destination when I needed to be at my destination at least 22-hours later than scheduled and options existing for 16 to 18 hours on Air New Zealand (which is also a code-share with Virgin Australia). Also, gate attendant at LAX told me that despite just transitioning through BNE, I would need to exit the international terminal and go to the domestic terminal to claim my boarding ticket. This was incorrect and would have resulted in long delays. Luckily, the gate attendant in the international terminal did have my boarding ticket. Until things change, I will not be doing any trans-pacific travel with either Virgin Australia or Delta. Other airlines (Air New Zealand, American, United, Southwest, and Frontier have all fixed issues to the best of their abilities) and will be higher on my list. Qantas is highest on my list since they have never screwed up and their seats are comfy for long-haul flights."

About 5-10 minutes later another announcement that it was an error and a wrong button had been pushed. It certainly was the wrong button to push."

Cons: "What was going to be a painful red-eye became infinitely worse when the flight got delayed twice, from 00:55 am departure to 02:15 am then to 03:30 am. All the while the bleary-eyed passengers were sprawled around in the waiting area, completely neglected and unattended. Nobody from JetStar came out offering blankets or updating on the status of the flight. When the boarding time finally came, it was disorderly and chaotic. The seats were uncomfortable and cramped and the crew were rude."

Traveling in Australia from the US, we of course each had a suitcase to check-in in addition to our carry-on. I asked for an arrangement at the airport, but they could not provide any help like booking luggage on-line for a cheaper price and moving us to a different flight. In addition, customer service was very disorganized and inefficient at the airport. We received conflicting instructions from many different people, they did not want to help us. Fortunately, someone finally decided to get it done and helped us buy the luggage tickets. We paid $533 in luggage for two people for an hour flight!!"
