Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Pros: "Crew was good. Flight was on time. This was a newer plane"
Cons: "it was great"
Cons: "Notification from the Travel agency that I needed to get a Yellow Fever immunization."
Pros: "The crew was kind"
Cons: "Seat space is too cramped"
Cons: "Toilets were dirty and not enough toilet papers"
Cons: "The vegetarian meals, they were not enjoyable, we actually couldn’t eat them. I wish we had not gotten vegetarian meals as the regular breakfast was a choice between pancakes or omelet with fresh fruit, which where both vegetarian. They need to make a difference between vegetarian and vegan."
Pros: "New plane in the excellent condition. Leg room in economy not bad. Crew friendly and efficient. Boarding worked well."
Cons: "The main meal was pretty dreadful. Grilled chicken with what I think was mashed potato, but it was difficult to be sure. Watery and tasteless. Accompanied bizarrely by a tomato sauce (which did taste of something). Hard to identify the ethnicity."
Pros: "In flight attendance was excellent and we were nearly overfed with plenty of drinks, snacks and meals. It was nice to see both young and elderly ladies as air hostess. This is a strong statement in non discrimination on Account of age in employment. To see a red Indian lady among them was very refreshing."
Cons: "Dimming of the windows was not user friendly and we had to put up with bright reflected lights from clouds. On ground both in Calgary and Vancouver the wheel chair attendance was not at the same level as in Frankfurt where it had been given with paramedic competence."
Pros: "only The crew inside the airplane and the airoplane"
Cons: "Every one in Lufthansa are so rude expect the crew"
Pros: "Flight was great. Check in not so."
Cons: "On March 18, 2018 Joanne, Kevin, and Allison Sheridan were booked to go from SYD to YYJ and only Kevin took off. We went to the airport and my daughter Allison was too anxious to get on as she had to leave her father behind. After she calmed down we went to get on the flight and the lady at the check in, (Onwsha) said it was too late and we could leave the next day. She changed my tickets on the computer and said if we came on Monday, March 19th there wouldn't be a charge but if it was any other date it would be $150.00 per ticket/person. When I arrived to check in on March 19th I was charged the $300. I spoke to Sharon Smith who was with Air Canada Customer Service Coordinator and I explained I was told something different by the customer agent. I told her if I knew that and I was told by Onwsha I would have went on the flight on March 18th but would not have checked the bags and just taken carry on luggage as my husband was still at the airport and he could bring them when he came over. Sharon Smith said there was nothing she could do and we had to pay the $300.00. It really has left a bad taste for me with Air Canada especially how many seats were spare and I was told something different from Onwsha. Thank you for your time. If any other details are needed feel free to contact me."
Pros: "The zone system seems to work well for boarding and the cabin crew on my flight to London were superb, helpful and polite to myself and others, despite a few impatient passengers."
Pros: "Beautiful new 787"
Cons: "Entertainment options could be more plentiful."
Cons: "Was put on a Turkish airlines flight - landed in India 12 hours AFTER scheduled landing. My luggage did not reach India. After numerous calls got only 1 out of 2 of my bags ; 2nd bag still missing 1 week after landing in India WOW"
Cons: "Put on Turkish air landed 12 hrs late lggage still missing"
Pros: "While I've ranked the crew as poor, that isn't a reflection of the entire crew. The flight crew and check-in team were fine, the boarding I have as mediocre due to delay, but I don't put that on the staff."
Cons: "My issues are two part: 1 - I wasn't informed that I was required to retrieve my luggage from the carousel on this flight from George Town to Toronto. I thought perhaps I missed something, however, the three other couples that were in the same predicament I was weren't aware either. This caused a massive headache, the instructions were superbly poor on how to retrieve the luggage, and the process was completely a waste of time. We had to talk with three different people, the person that took us back to the carousel showed no urgency despite us all explaining that we were on a short layover, and might miss our next flight, and even though we had our passes to get through customs, we were made to wait in line to have our baggage inspected. A completely broken process that could've been avoided with a friendly reminder at check-in. 2 - Once I was able to retrieve my luggage I picked it up off the carousel only to find the handle on one piece of luggage had been ripped off, and the plastic lining on the other bag was destroyed. Admittedly I find this to be no surprise after seeing how mine and everyone else's luggage was handled so poorly upon being loaded into the cargo. I saw my luggage being tossed 3-5 feet into the cargo area - literally picked up, and with complete disregard flung like it was a trash bag being thrown into the dumpster. Since I didn't have time to discuss this with any staff due to my prior issue and being unable to find a representative once I landed back in Vancouver, I called the next day to discuss this over the phone, but the representative explained that I was only able to make a complaint in-person at the time of baggage retrieval. The person was absolutely useless and unwilling to help. This was by far the worst treatment I've had at any time in my life while flying any airline. The trip to George Town was with American Airlines, and even though it was longer, and a tad bit more expensive, the service I had with them was stellar by comparison to my experience with AirCanada. Going forward I will only be using AC when there are absolutely no other options."

Pros: "The flight was on time check in was simple and quick Staff on board friendly and professional Inflight movies fab Plenty of room on seats clean plane"
Cons: "Nothing all great"
Cons: "The airline crew keep on pushing back the departure due to bad weather. No discipline while boarding passengers. Delay after landing to open the door. No clear instructions about the delays"
Pros: "I am 6ft 1 / 185cm and the leg room was OK for an economy flight. Food was OK for airplane food. Staff were very friendly. Overall very happy."
Pros: "I love this flight. Great airplane and great staff. Air Canada international >> air Canada domestic."
Cons: "Ran out of food.."
Cons: "Flight was delayed My wife and I got separate seats Screen and audio on the entertainment system didn't work"
Cons: "I bought my ticket with Air Canadafrom Vancouver to Calgary then connected with Lufthansa from Calgary to London UK. Unknown to me I could not find the flight because it had been changed to an AC reference flight. With a very short time for the connection I did not know where to get my boarding pass as my flight with Lufthansa was nowhere referred to ! Not which gate to go . Why not put it in the ticket that Lufthansa and Air Canada work together and that both flights ref should show !! It would avoid a great deal of anxiety . Only offered 1 round if hot drinks over 9 hours ! Departure delayed by nearly 60 minutes"
Cons: "Lost luggage!"
Cons: "Very cramped like sardine tin. Not enough flight info boards in airport and they were hard to read m"
Pros: "Ease of boarding - no long queues. Offer to put hand luggage in the hold with no charge."
Pros: "It was OK but it had to be better than the flight to Canada which was delayed 24 hours (just for bad measure). It's a cheap flight and AC warn that the "in seat" screen is no longer provided so criticism on this basis is a bit silly. I noted that the free iPads in Premium Economy provided more films but they were so dated!!! Food in PE was much better as was the general service. It cost quite a bit in the "Auction" but it was worth it I think."
Cons: "This relates to the outward trip when we only found out at the check-in that the plane was postponed to the following day. OK, we were put up in a hotel for the night but 24 hours there was not the best day of my life. I wasn't too impressed with the hotel."
Pros: "Friendly crew, modern aircraft"
Pros: "Constant supply of food"
Cons: "No entertainment on seats"
Pros: "Pretty standard flight...nice crew, free drink, left and arrived on time for the most part. Liked that I could check in early to arrange a seat."
Cons: "The seats could have been more comfortable. Had a couple knees in my back."
Pros: "Delays"
Cons: "Delays"
Pros: "Very comfortable and clean aircraft. Friendly crew. Seats at the front of Economy had excellent legroom. Helpful flight announcements from the captain."
Cons: "Air Canada has only one gate at Houston, which appears to be in constant use, at least in the early afternoon. If one flight is delayed in departure, it causes a backup with other flights."
Pros: "Liked everything about this new class of service on Air Canada. Seat was comfortable with good recline that didn't interfere with fellow passengers. Food was excellent, entertainment system was well stocked, flight attendants were friendly and high energy. Even got to use lounge and fast-track security lane at Heathrow."
Cons: "Zero complaints."
Pros: "Clearing immigration in Vancouver is very convenient"
Cons: "Food choices are limited and expensive."
Pros: "We did not make it to this flight since it was cancelled"
Cons: "We were rebooked on a flight with a short connection to London and they bumped us off that flight claiming that they could not get our bags in on time. Very poor customer service."
Cons: "See above."
Pros: "Friendly efficient staff"
Cons: "The plane was a bit dated so the seats were smaller the Luthansa"
Pros: "The bad stuff overshadowed the good stuff. Bad experience."
Cons: "We took off late and never made up for the time lost which resulted in me missing my connection in Denver. Had to be rerouted to Toronto that night and spent night in hotel. Next day, we took off late and that resulted in me missing my connection in Denver... It took me two days instead of one to travel to my last destination. Not happy with Air Canada, three out four flights took off late. I also almost missed my flight in Montreal to go to Paris if it was not for the friendly and helpful Canadian Customs people."
Pros: "On time and efficient"
Cons: "To pay American dollars for baggage on AC coming back to CANADA or to pay AT ALL for a bag"
Pros: "Movies"
Cons: "Food was terrible especially for Prem economy. Chicken dish very bad. Difficult to get a second glass of wine with main meal."
Pros: "Overall very very good - could offer more water throughout flight."
Cons: "Pressed the service bell mutiple over 30 minutes, no one came. Had to get out of my seat and walk to the back of the plane where I found all the attendants having a chat. Not even a sorry from them."
Pros: "Flight was good. Left a bit late but made up time"
Cons: "Security took nearly an hour to get through even though it didn't look very busy."
Pros: "friendly pilot"
Cons: "Delayed 25 minutes, and threatened to fly without 15 passengers due to strong headwinds and need to reduce weight. Never heard that one before."
Pros: "Food ok crew and staff very helpful"
Pros: "Poor airline, always delayed, dreadful and unfriendly customer service. The only reason I flew with them this short trip was due to price"
Cons: "Most uncomfortable seating that one can have. I will never fly rouge again."
Cons: "A three and a half hour flight with a fruit juice and not even a pack of peanuts . Air Canada that was pathetic !"
Cons: "Unhelpful crew, dreadful status updates about our delay, not enough food on board for everybody"
Pros: "Short flight. Simple. Smooth."
Cons: "There was a short delay because crew was caught up in security."
