Cons: ""Customs" at JFK came to an entire halt. All passengers where stuck in the welcome hall for 1h, without any information, why held there and why nothing was moving forward. All CBP booths were closed, but 8 (eight!) employees, who normally direct arriving passengers to the kiosk-machines where hanging out in two groups sharing private stories and having laughs instead of at least informing passengers, what was going on. Lots of passengers where outraged...a couple in their mid 70s in front of us had to sit down on the floor, since they had circulation problems from standing in line so long. Sadly, JFK isn't what it used to be anymore."

I saw it happening with other passengers as well and was under the impression, the whole crew performance was pretty poor and SIA was not up to its high-standards as I always like to fly with them. I travel a lot, I usually fly Qantas and they are very good at providing seats closer to the front. I will be reluctant to fly Singapore Airlines again due to the fact that they were not accommodating at all."

Cons: "The woman behind me kept insisting that I keep my chair in the upright position. With two crying babies on the plane, I was trying to relax and sleep as much as possible on the 12.5 hr flight. What bothered me even more is that when the woman asked the flight attendant to tell me to put my seat up, the flight attendant complied instead of telling the woman it was my seat to do as I wished. Why make the seats recline if they are going to bother the people behind? Why tell me to put my seat up if it was not a requirement for all (ie during take off or landing)? I did not appreciate this and it made my flight extremely uncomfortable."

Not sure why everyone has to go through literally 7 different security check points (not Qatars fault) but besides that, everything went very smooth.

Compared to other used airlines over more than 30 years, it was an excellent experience.

Flight was delayed at IAD Washington. Passengers were anxious as there was delay announcing about it.

Coach seats are just too cramped for an 14 hour and 45 minute flight. Not the airlines fault, that is just the way it is today. Great incentive to upgrade to Business Class, but that would have been an extra $970, not in the budget for my company. I will say this, the meals and flight attendants are world class, even in Coach. I had a blind woman sitting in front of me and the genuine care that the flight attendant proactively provided was heartwarming and inspirational. I was moved by the personal touch and genuinely sincere interest by the fight attendant in this woman's experience and safety. Every aspect of the journey, this particular flight attendant made the airline proud.

I could not able to travel because of the restrictions from srilanka to india, no notification was given to me about that. Then i changed my ticket to get there.

I always book an isle seat, especially for long flights (this was 12 hrs.), so that I can get up and stretch my legs etc. The couple sitting beside me were upset that I did not take the window seat. When it came time to sleep, the wife stretched out over her husbands legs, who was sitting beside me. This meant her feet were coming on top of my legs, and her legs were forcing her husbands legs into my space, touching my leg - I had to put a pillow between my leg and his leg. I asked the Qatar hostess if she could please ask the couple to change their positions, so that my seating space was respected, resulting in no body touching. The hostess replied that she was not permitted to ask the couple to change their positions and be more respectful. Fortunately there was another unreserved isle seat and I was able to move. Due to the fact that airplanes have become cultural melting pots, thousands of feet in the air, I think it would be peacefully beneficial too all, if a very discreet announcement could be made at the beginning of each flight regrading seating etiquette, respectfulness towards others etc. this could also be printed in the flight magazine. Thanks in advance."

The Doha airport is an architect's Ego Trip and badly laid out, extremely long walks to get anywhere, ferocious prices for anything (carry snacks for your layover!). Plus 4 bar stools hogged by rude, arrogant young Arab men who have NO respect or consideration for elders, disabled, etc. Incident with boarding passenger in Saigon was VERY badly handled & delayed departure over an hour, risking connections for a number of passengers. They cannot handle things well, yet crew is basically nice, kind. Food is AWFUL; saving grace is fresh fruit, roll & butter, yoghurt - the nice little side dishes."

Pros: "I really enjoy this airline. The flight was good with good entertainment system. I like the provided pillow and blanket and they make sure the cabin is dark and quiet for sleeping. Food is decent with generous amounts and snacks always available to go and grab."
Cons: "I was fairly squished on this flight at 6'2" with my knees almost touching the seat in front of me. I had more space on another Cathay flight and I think I had a seat in the same class. I took off my shoes and that helped me get a little more room to spread my feet/legs out to get comfortable."

Pros: "I am frequent air traveler that logs about 100k miles a year and this is the first time I felt like writing a review about an airline. I traveled with my 4 year old son on this trip. Excellent service, high quality food options and flight amenities. I really enjoyed the food as did my son. My son left his backpack behind on the first leg and the airline staff retreived it and delivered it to the lounge in less than 15 minutes. I was astounded and had almost given up on seeing the bag again, given my experience with other airlines in the past. This is going to be airline of choice for future trips!"

Cons: "The utterly appalling seats on Cathay's old B777s are unacceptable for a premium airline. Non-reclining economy seats which are desperately uncomfortable for any flight of more than 1 hour, and completely unsuitable for an overnight flight. These planes desperately need a refit. Best avoided until this has been completed. The flight was overbooked, and the cabin crew seemed stressed and very busy. As a long term frequent flyer with CX, this was a very disappointing experience."
Pros: "1st - boarding at hongkong was a pain. You line up at security just to transfer/transit. Then another line up to get inside the boarding area where they again check your ticket and boarding pass. Then theres another line at the gate where they scan your boarding pass. Just when you think you're done, there's another line right before you enter the plane where they check all the hand carry of the passengers. Overkill! 2nd - the crew - not very friendly at all. I noticed they spent more time chitchatting with the caucasian in front of me than with the rest of the asians around me. No smiles for the passengers - not even when they lined up to say hi and goodbye. They were just going through the motions. When they answered the call lights of the ladies in front and beside me, they were curt and abrupt. It was a good thing i didnt need them for anything. Then i happened to go to the restroom and i saw them chatting among themselves in the back while the bathroom was a mess. 3rd - seats were ok, but were narrower 4th - food was hot but the dinner wasnt appetizing at all - some kind of meatball/mashed potato slush. I could only eat less than a quarter of the entree. The breakfast was ok- egg was ok, the bacon was soggy and the sausage was not salty which was a plus. 5th - a lot of movie choices! Helped pass the time quickly"

Cons: "The costumer service of pasific airline in HK airport and in Perth airport , were not skilled , I asked them many time if they can help me in my 10 hrs waiting time in HK airport with a food voucher or access to their lounge for rest and fresh in up , they said you bought your ticket this way and you accepted it , no voucher no access to lounge unless if you are business or first class !!"
Pros: "The crew on Cathay Pacific is really a cut above. they seem to have a genuine wish to see to the comfort of the passengers. It is also a pleasure to have so many choices for entertainment."
Cons: "The boarding from NY to Hong Kong was really well organized, with people in the back of the plane getting on first so that it was easy for everyone to get right in. This did not happen on the return flight from Hong Kong. Further, at one point we were rousted from the waiting room and made to go through a second inspection, having are bags searched again, and having random people go through especially invasive searches. Very unpleasant and unnerving as we were given no reason for this."

I am sure if she was given a child's meal she would not have got this. We were then told we have to advise the airline 12 hours before we fly that we want a child's meal. I am sorry but when travelling we should not have to do this and nor have we ever had to do it on any other airline. Poor poor poor!!!!"

Don't let people bring 2 large bags EACH onto flights. Bring a garbage bag around instead of a tiny 5 inch X 5 inch tray when you are collecting 100s? of people's garbage. When departing a plane, I never have seen so much trash and nonsense all over the floor. Bringing a garbage bag around would definitely eliminate a majority of that, the tray was extremely impractical for such a large amount of passengers."
