Once in customer service line, we looked and saw that many of the other passengers on our flight also never received their luggage. We estimated that 20-25% of the people on that flight did not receive their luggage as they were in line with us for the same problem. Hard to understand how so many pieces of luggage could have been overlooked and not loaded on our flight. Obviously there is a huge gap in their quality system to ensure mistakes like this are prevented."

As a result we had to wait until all the passengers got off the plane to get back our luggage and we were the last two passengers to get off. Unpleasant!"

The seats were slightly banged up. Legroom was a bit tight. No food or drinks served No entertainment whatsoever.

I didn't appreciate the crew's comments to some of my fellow passengers about how they we wouldn't eat the food. I would have liked to have been offered more to drink. Additionally I'm glad the crew is fond of one another, but they were loud and distracting. They were nicer to one another than the people flying. Cons: "The flight was late boarding and late arriving in Munich. I had a connecting flight to make and that was a harrowing experience. I had no precedence offers the other passengers in deplaning. I was given no help in making my connecting flight. I had to queue up for border control. I had to go up and down numerous escalators. I was stopped by a policeman asking for papers which I had already given to border control. I had to take a train and change terminals. My connecting flight was departing from the farthest gate possible in the terminal. I was running the entire time, and I barely made it. Had I not been running, I would have missed my connection."

Well actually in the fancy seats beyond economy there is a little slot to attach a phone or tablet on the back of the seat. So your entertainment is whatever you brought. I guess the touchscreen/on demand entertainment I remember from the early 2000's is too high tech for TAP."
Cons: "We travelled with 2 carry ones and one checked bag throughout our 2.5 week honeymoon. Check in agent suggested that we check all 3 of our bags since the flight was full. We did. The flight from BCN to LIS was delayed 2 hours at the gate, but we were told we could somehow still catch our flight from LIS to PDL. We trusted that was true. We arrived at LIS without a single garment of clothing (we checked all 3 bags through to PDL), and then realized we missed the flight to PDL. We stood in line for 3 HOURS at the TAP help desk, only to wait behind a group of very angry people who monopolized the staff. Once we told the agent our situation, he told us there were no more seats on any flight to PDL the next morning. Not only that, but he could not provide a hotel for us to spend the night. This is 2:30am, 3:30am BCN time. He told us to find our own hotel, but we do not have international phone plans, so we could not make the reservation ourselves. He had nowhere for us to sleep. Then he had us wait for his SATA associate to help us, and he put us on a flight to PDL the next day, but it was not direct! We had plans for the following day, a hotel reservation in Ponta Delgada that is NOT refundable, and now the final portion of our honeymoon is ruined. No one ever offered to give us vouchers for ANY costs or for the anxiety and total of 14 hours lost on the most important trip of our lives. Shameful."

Within this two hours there were many elderly people asking for help and one specific gentleman whom was in his late 70s, informed the people around him that he had a pacemaker was pleading to get some air conditioning to the point where 6 people on the airplane were fanning him off. It was 90 degrees in the airplane and we had been sitting in the plane without any help even pleading with the attendents to let the elderly off so they did not pass out. Once we reached the 2 hour mark without any ac the gentleman in his late 70s was beginning to lose consciousness and many people had to call the emergency services, and the crew on flight TP214, tried to tell us everything was fine while the plane was pulling away from the terminal ... as they were giving the man oxygen, even though the elderly gentleman had lost the ability to communicate verbally and was about to pass out. They had to pull the plane back off the tarmac fully delaying us 3 hours in the process making us miss our other two flights. Once we were finally in the air for the 6 hour flight our entertainment system was not working so we were left to twiddle our thumbs for the remainder of the trip. It really ruined what seemed to be an exciting trip and I highly doubt we would ever take TAP Portugal ever again or recommend it to anyone no matter the price."

I was lucky did hey stuck in Boston. The only weird part was that i was not able to pick seats without a fee even 24 hours prior flight."
Cons: "Oph, I wish I had better things to say about this airline! The person who signed us in for our first flight did so as a "no show" (we didn't know this at the time). That flight was delayed (they didn't have enough room in the plane for luggage and were scrambling to put things below). Once we arrived in at our second location, we sprinted through the airport but arrived at our gate with 10 minutes to spare only to be told that the entire flight was full and that we were not able to board. We asked- how this was possible? We are here on time, we have booked our tickets months ahead of time, and there is no one else here at the gate... it made absolutely no sense. All the staff people did was shrug their shoulders and said that they couldn't help us and that we had to go to the transfer station. My friend and I were upset- by missing our flight we were losing our last night in Barcelona, seeing our friends, etc. before heading back to the United States. Once we got to the transfer station, we were even more confused and upset however, because the staff person there told us that in fact our seats were available and that there was no reason why were not allowed on the flight. However, she shrugged her shoulders and told her that there was nothing that she could do. She offered us a $10 meal card, booked us for the next flight 3 hours later (which put us in Barcelona late at night, way too late to see the city or our friends), and offered us absolutely no help in getting a refund. We asked to see the supervisor and after waiting another half an hour he came out and told us the story about how the staff person in Marrakesh put us as "no shows." This was a complete system failure, however he offered us no refund, no support, beyond telling us to go on the website and filling out a form. Once we got internet, we tried to get to the form- link broken. We called the help line, and after waiting another 20 minutes, we got connected to a woman who said that she couldn't help us- we had to go to the transfer service desk and fill out a paper form there or the electronic contact form. It seemed that every person had been well trained in how to pass clients from one system to another, to see if we would get too tired to file our complaints. No one has taken responsibility for this abysmal failure of the system, no one has apologized, and no one has offered any reimbursement beyond a meal ticket. I highly recommended that people pay an extra $20 for an airline where people are properly trained in how to use their computer systems, where they won't lie to your face, and where they may have a system where complaints and be properly filed and responded to. I have no idea how TAP Portugal is still in business."

Cons: "Unfortunately, through no fault of the flight crew or gate crew, we got one of the few remaining planes in the fleet that are so old that they can't fit a full carry-on bag in the overhead bins or under the seats. Larger carry-on items had to be checked through to final destination, which made a lot of passengers upset -- either because they were business people who needed to be able to work on the flight, or they had important baby gear in there that they would need before that, or they were traveling far away using multiple airlines and were rightly worried about lost luggage."

The selection of entertainment (movies/tv shows) was exceptionally limited and out of date. Their way of boarding the plane (via zone) is very backwards as families with children weren't asked to board until half way through the plane loading (unless those families had already paid for the more expensive zone upgrades). Most airlines let them load first to give them extra time. My checked bag was 1.2kg over the limit so I had to open the bag and switch 1.2kg of clothing into my carry on in front of the rest of those checking in. What an embarrassment and such foolery. All in all Westjet does a better job for trips across Canada. Will not be trying Air Canada again."

There weren't even options for me to pay the outrageous pick a seat option when I was doing my preflight check in 24 hours in advance."

I'm so very appreciative of the flight because I could enjoy stretching my legs out and enjoying a comfortable seat. The very attentive crew allowed me opportunity to quench my thirst with countless glasses of water and to watch and keep up with my sports programming throughout the entire flight. Now it will be extremely hard to ever fly coach again. I have flown United the last couple of summers and I have been nothing but thrilled with their service and their staff. Moving forward United would be the only airline that I would care to fly. Thank you for everything and thank you for my safe travels!"

On my way to the airport in Portland I got a text from United that my flight to Newark had been cancelled and there was no way to fly me out of Portland to San Diego that day. My sister had to drive me to Boston so I could catch a flight to San Francisco, which took 6.5 hours because it flew over most of Canada for some reason AND had three babies that cried from start to finish. Oh and because I was a late addition, I had a middle seat. The second I turned my phone on after we landed I had another yet another text from United saying that my connection to San Diego had been delayed three hours and wouldn't take off until 11:15 pm."
