Will definitely consider flying with Alaska Airlines again!"

Pros: "When everything was said and done, and most other people on the flight were given free passage to SFO by Airporter bus and then put onto a flight into LAX and then arrange transportation to Orange County (which I had every reason to think was a nightmare for those trying to get to Orange County from LAX due to unclaimed packages (security uproar) and major traffic around LAX and would not work for my disabled family to drive 1.5 hours to pick me up) I paid for a bus to SFO myself and booked a flight from there to Santa Ana (John Wayne) on Southwest. I eventually arrived there around 730 PM. Alaska refunded my flight southbound and still offered me $400 credit which was nice of them. That being said, the propeller planes are really noisy so don't expect a comfortable experience. But its worth it for the convenience to travel from Santa Rosa, CA (Sonoma County Airport) to Santa Ana (John Wayne Airport) provided they don't cancel your flight. Alaska will be adding more flights on this same route by summer and they deserve some credit for that, but at the end of the day, it was my own resourcefulness that saved the day, and got me to my family December 22nd. I would have had to wait until December 24th through Alaska Airlines for the same flight, and that is when my family celebrates Christmas, so that was NOT a very appealing option."

I would have liked to have my luggage dropped before embarking on the plane. There was not enough room to put baggage. Other airlines (with similar options, i.e. route, plane type also with limited space) have a cart to collect medium and larger bags that will not fit in the overhead bins. That is really my only complaint. Everything else was good and I got what I expected.

The customs area red jacketed help personnel told us that it was just as fast to go throught the general customs are instead of using our Nexus cards and this turned out to take forever. If she would have just processed my ticket I would have had 35 minutes to get to my gate instead of 10. When you are flying with half full planes there should really be better ways to manage customer service."

Instead the flight was delayed and left 200 people stranded and waiting in line for customer service. Because I did not have cell service in Canada, I was forced to wait 2 hours in line only to have the agent at the counter make me talk to an agent on the phone. Prior to that, we were shocked that one of the only two agents at the counter left the counter to talk to people in line behind us instead of servicing the customers first come first serve. When I asked him to please return to the counter to help the next person in line, he mumbled that that was not what he wished to do. Meanwhile, all flights out of Toronto were fully booked that night. The delayed flight finally left at 1:30 am. Had Air Canada notified its customers about the 10 hour delay, we could have spent that time in Halifax. Both my husband and I were very disappointed in how AC handled the whole situation. Both the counter agents and the phone agent were unhelpful in offering us options."

Cons: "I arrived at the Saskatoon (small city) airport 40 mins before my flight. The Air Canada ticket agent 721290 said this was too late even though the Airport and security was almost empty. I asked what the arrival cutoff time should be and she stated 45 mins.. The employee said she must then reroute me through 2 airports arriving ~7 hours later and charge me an extra 100$ for rebooking fee. This was to be an extremely short flight and the ticket itself was only 230$ Which would result in a surcharge of over 1/3 the price. I asked to speak with a manager and the employee said none was present. I rebooked with an alternative carrier Westjet on site and demanded a refund for my ticket. The worst experience ever had by an Airline service representative. This adds to the numerous customer service issues with Air Canada. I refuse to fly this airline in the future."
Cons: "1. We had to travel by bus to the plane slowing the process considerably. 2. The single crew member in the cabin mis-spoke her announcement several times. 3. The seats don't recline and they, and the whole cabin, was dirty. This was a morning flight and old newspapers were still in the seat back and there were crumbs on the tray and seat. 4. The tea was cold. All you need to make tea is hot water and they could not even mange that. 5. No entertainment."

Cons: "I didn't like having to specifically ask for my mileage credits to be applied during each leg of my flight; also, I didn't like being in the very last boarding group."

Cons: "Comfort, food and entertainment are getting worse. They don't provide headsets anymore and no snacks for a fly of 2 hours (not even a cereal bar), just a drink. Tall people can barely sit because the aeroplane is too small and the space between the seats are getting shorter."

Cons: "We boarded 20 minutes late, and no one could tell the gate staff how long it would be. Plus, the flight at the adjoining gate left the ramp door open for half an hour when it was 1 degree Fahrenheit outside, so the waiting room was like a meat locker."

Pros: "Everything is fast..... loading, unloading, taxing and the flight. Barely have time to get settled in your seat and you are ready to land.... almost swear that the (fast) taxing took longer than the flight."

Cons: "2.5 hr late departure, originally stated as a 30min delay which was never achievable seeing as they knew the plane hadn't even left Boston yet."
Cons: "Air Canada agent in Calgary told me that I did not need to pick up my bag and take it with me through customs. She was wrong. I got to my final destination without my bag. This was on my flight from the US into Canada; not on the return flight."

Cons: "Even though the plane had arrived hours earlier the crew only decided to deal with a maintenance issue five minutes before boarding was to start. The result was that the plane was taken out of service delaying the flight an hour and a half. The seat was so narrow that it was almost impossible for anyone larger than a seven year old to fit into it!"

I was booked another flight by air canada on SAS. But the flight was Newark to Copenhagen to Oslo to Barcelona. My original flight was Newark to Montreal to Barcelona...much easier."

Cons: "We were delayed because crew was transferring from a prior flight that was late. Extremely annoying and inconvenient when our plane was fueled up and waiting just outside."
An airplane that still has screens (which I appreciated!) but every time there was a PA announcement the sound would cut out for a good 10 minutes AFTER the announcement was over. Eventually I stopped trying to watch a movie because I was missing so much. Also, I really wish they wouldn't rush to get everyone on a plane when the crew is delayed and doesn't get onboard until 5 minutes before they're scheduled to leave. You know that then we're going to sit there for 30 minutes waiting for them to get ready and find us a new takeoff slot, so why didn't you just delay the boarding too? United's Basic Economy is also a scam, but at least I got a window seat. And we all know there are worse options (Spirit).

Cons: "After the entire flight was boarded & ready to go the plane had a mechanical issue before take off. Had to sit on the plan for 90 minutes before we were allowed to exit the plane. No other flights available For family of three until 3 days later! Had to demand to be transferred to another airline so my family & I can go home the next morning. Overall stuck in SNA airport for 8 hours. Didn’t get a refund for baggage, instead was given meal vouchers for the airport in the morning. United did provide hotel for the night but nothing special. United staff where nice to make the best of the situation."

Crew member let us know that united was aware of our delay ed take of 4:05 rather than 1:00pm several hours before yet, We were only informed through notifications in increments of 30 minutes. be transparent with your customers, the delay would have been much less frustrating had we known. Instead notifications every 30mins were teasing us that we're about to leave but it's clear united had not intention of taking off. Also crew member on board serving beverages "I need your money" is an extremely unprofessional and inappropriate way to ask for a card."
Cons: "That my return flight was canceled with no notification after I missed my first flight. I ended up getting a new flight and was never informed that my return flight was cancelled there for when I got to the airport to return home I had to buy another $600 ticket. After buying a new ticket when I missed my first flight (my fault, I know) but I really think I should be compensated for this inconvenience and the lack of notifying me whatsoever."
Cons: "We were in first class first row, the crew kept talking and laughing during the entire flight (this is a 5 hours flight and we landed at 5am). Loud and banging the trolleys (why, everyone is trying to sleep!). We asked them to not speak as loud, but to no avail.... asking for a glass a water was a no no, you could clearly see they were not there to help you... The entertainment system was a vintage tiny TV which did not work well anyway (loss of image...). The seat was half broken. Not sure where the first class experience was. United please do something... Start first with your employees. Send them to Southwest for training..."

No help getting a bag check refund even though I paid for it a day early. Come to find out that the gate staff was courtesy checking everyone's bags anyway, and they took it with a smile. Those fools at the front were content to take my money and tell me to somehow mail my luggage to my destination (not possible since the flight was boarding in 35 minutes). There needs to be communication with the check in staff regarding courtesy check ins."

Cons: "Sat and listened the WHOLE trip except when drinks were being served to the private lives of the flight attendants. The didn't pick up trash so everyone had to place their ice and semi full drinks in the nets when it got bumpy for the landing. I watched the flight attendants the whole time- they got paid to converse about everything- here is proof- one flight attendant was complaining that she only had 4 days of vacation and that she never gets called to work- I think I can guess why- and that she has talked to Kaitlyn- I think that was her bosses name?? But she wasn't given more hours. I wish I had ear plugs. The African American lady was so unkind and uncaring. She scollded another African American lady for coming to the back to throw away her trash. She hurt the lady's feelings and made her mad too. The folks on the plane seemed to be too much of a deflection to their personal conversations, but they were successful at ignoring everyone. We had to be careful to not spill liquid on our carry on etc and not hit the cups and such with our knees on the way out. I usually fly Southwest and want to write a letter telling them how great their service is! I apologized to the cleaning crew as the flight attendants told us to not worry about our drinks"the cleaning crew" will get it. How unprofessional to treat others that way. Stop talking! You can get A WHOLE lot done when you aren't sharing your personal life and opinions with each other!"

Cons: "I had to ask to get a drink, and was never offered food. Granted it was a red eye, but I was never even offered a cookie. I expected more after paying for first class. Plus, since it was an older plane, it didn't have the power ports they advertise. The guy sitting next to me didn't want to watch tv, but it didnt work and the screen wouldn't go off. They didn't offer him anything as a apology."
